Sign up as a Community Member to be eligible for £2.5k-worth of giveaways

Fantasy Football Scout will be dishing out £2,500-worth of prizes in the 2020/21 campaign – and it won’t cost you a penny to be in with a chance of winning.

Paid-entry cash leagues may be a thing of the past in Fantasy Premier League but we’re continuing the giveaways, with prizes awarded in our FFS Cups and our Fantasy Football Scout Members mini-league.

That last league – the code for which is available here – is now open to everyone who has an account on our site, whether they have a paid subscription (Premium Member) or not (Community Member).

All you need to do to be eligible for our giveaways is to register an account with us and become a Community Member, something that is completely free of charge.

You’ll get your own profile page and can opt in to receive our weekly newsletter when you sign up, plus you’ll be able to post and track comments and submit your own articles.

NEW DESIGN FOR PREMIUM MEMBERS AREA

Having said all of the above, we’d naturally love you to come on board as a Premium Member for 2020/21 – if you haven’t already.

Only paying subscribers will get unrestricted access to all our tools and stats in our Premium Members Area plus loads more articles and insight from our ever-expanding team of elite FPL contributors, such as Hall of Fame number one Fábio Borges, Hall of Fame number three Darren Wiles, ex-champion Simon March, five-time top 1k finisher Tom Freeman, three-time top 200 finisher Lateriser, six-time top 5k finisher Zophar and Fantasy Football Scout’s founding father, Mark Sutherns.

You can expect another announcement or two on that front coming soon…

On top of that, we’re excited to announce a big overhaul behind the scenes.

We’ve listened to your feedback and our Premium Members Area is currently undergoing a major revamp to make it easier to use and more mobile-friendly.

You can take a sneak preview of what it will look like in the video below:

PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP PRE-SEASON OFFER ENDS SOON

Fantasy Football Scout Premium Memberships for the 2020/21 season are still available at the pre-season cost of £17.50 – but time is running out on this offer.

Subscriptions will rise to the regular season price of £19.99 after August 31 so, if you haven’t already, make sure to sign up before that point in order to secure the best-value rate.

The yearly fee of £17.50 works out at an equivalent of less than £1.50 a month (or 5p a day!) as, instead of expiring on June 1 as was previously the case, these rolling annual subscriptions now cover a full 12-month period.

That’s better value than our rivals are offering for the equivalent all-access Premium Membership package.

If you prefer to dip your toe into the water rather than plunge right in, however, we are continuing to offer rolling monthly subscriptions for just £2.99 per month.

And here’s what you’ll be getting for your money in 2020/21:

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

Payments can be made through Paypal or via Stripe using debit or credit cards.

It is funny the obsession with casuals. Firstly, there are different level of dedication and knowledge that fall somewhere below being completely obsessed and on here all the time (which is what I interpret as your understanding of not being a casual).

Also, the idea that they all think the same and will act in the same way and in the most dumb way like a load of sheep is wrong. There was even someone on here saying that casuals will sell City and United players once they realise that they didn't play in week one, as if they will never play again.

Trying to decide if Ziyech is a risk early on?

Hasn't played in months but has been bedding in with the squad. Guess him and Son to start then drop one for Greenwood is a good option?

I think he’s worth trying as he’s got some great fixtures and as you say his price point allows for easy moves to the usual suspects.

It could be worse - your City rivals could be about to sign Messi when all you can look forward too is Jack "Party Boy" Grealish holding a shirt and dying a slow death like Saha/WellBeck and many others and signing the same day Phil Jones extends his contract LOL

I don't see Messi coming to City. Not out of bias. But makes no sense to come to hardest league in the world at the age of 33.

He wont need to - he will waltz around the final third and come to life when KDB/Sterling/Bernado/Foden/Aguero/Mahrez get the ball back...he has been scoring for fun in the worst Barca team for 10 years - Imagine KDB and Co. supplying the bullets.

Looks solid. Like the forward line.

Defense could be a bit unknown at this stage. Vinagre, Saliba might not start. Possibly having two 5.5 mids is somewhat inflexible.

Ok if you like Werner for the first 2 - or is he out week 2?

Would prefer 5.0 in defence - don’t really fancy either 4.5 to be transfer free. Koucek as 4th mid week 1 and then to become first bench

            Good point about Werner ..
I'm avoiding committing to Werner Greenwood or Pulisic Martial combo to see Which is better around GW 3/4.

Keeping Son Jimenez as placeholders for 2 attacking spots one each for Chelsea United

My only problem with Doherty now is, that I don't know if he'll start straight away. Think Spurs fixtures look good for Doherty, but might need more than 2 weeks to play his way into the team?

First draft. 1.5 ITB. Leaning to take Greenwood already at bench to mitigate future transfers. Thoughts, pretty template?

        McCarthy, Nyland
        TAA, Justin, Vinagre, Mitchell, Johnson
        Salah, Auba, Greenwood, ASM, Romeu
        Werner, Ings, Mitro

Ryan, button, branthwaite For Johnson, Armstrong for Romeu the only difference with 0.5 itb.

I will be looking to strengthen defence but think it’s worth seeing if 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 is preferable and strip a 1m or so From 5th mid, 3rd striker.

In all honesty I don’t know. Just a matter of keeping tabs on who out of these 4.0’s look most nailed. I’ll happily carry 2 playing 4m def on bench to start with. 3-4-3, 3-5-2 with 2 premium defenders is what I would like to do. I think the Vinagre and Justin picks are solid to start with and then I’ll be looking to upgrade to a VVD or AWB etc

When you go Antonio, you start looking at your defence and think WTF.

Go Kane or Vardy then you look at your midfield with Soucek as your 3rd mid.

Expensive fwd line not for me.

Jim and Ings just missing 200 points was a disaster last season after all. Spend another 5/6 million on Mo and there was another 40 points of course

Do you not think there's some decent forward options this year?

I know they're at the higher end but Ings, Jimenez, Werner, Martial, and Vardy all potentially good bets vs midfielders at same price

Antonio and Wood will wipe the floor with 6.5m mid options too, unless Foden gets sustained minutes.

                Yeah that's a fair point.

This is the problem - there’s a real disconnect. I think most of the points will come from midfield still, but I’m strongly considering 4-3-3 because there is more value in the cheaper forwards.

No such thing as a set and forget for me mate until value options emerge 🙂 TAA and 2x wolves defence likely to stay though to be fair along with Salah.

Starting with Auba so I can re-evaluate where to go with the cash GW3.

This is really important to me, so please answer

          A) 4-4-2 Son, Davies, 4.5 DEF

          B) 3-5-2 Greenwood, AWB, ASM

          C) 3-4-3 Greenwood, Davies, Mitro

Jimenez! He could be more explosive without Europa league this season and he is more likely to get 90 minutes rather than subbing off around 65 to 70 mins for Abraham or Giroud.

I still can't even decide what formation I want.

Definitely only want 2 up top.

          Are people looking at playing a long term 4 4 2 with 2 x 4.5m defenders?

What formation are people looking at? Thanks

Currently at 3-4-3. Prices are favourable for 3 up top if you can find the right combo. You can spend less than 27-28m and get a gun forward line. You couldn’t last year for that money. I’m starting with 3 and taking it from there. Werner, Ings, Martial averages at 9m a player for example. Could be great.

How does this look with 0.5 itb:

          McCarthy, Nyland

          TAA, Doherty, Mitchell, Justin, Vinagre

          Salah, Auba, Son, Armstrong (Stephens)

          Ings, Jimi

TAA, Doherty and Vinagre are pick & stick (if Vinagre is viable) with Justin and Mitchell rotating (if Mitchell gets the nod for Palace)

0.5 itb could is for Son to Rashford or Ings/Jimi to Martial, depending on form/outlook

What’s the Leicester defensive line up expected to be?

Evans is suspended gw1 and Bennett returned back to wolves, surely it’s not Morgan?

Not that I’ll go there just wondering if it dents the appeal of Thomas or Justin

I'm really trying to work out how to play it

Pick the Pool defenders as set and forget. As long as they get 15 CSs then they'll be great

The other big thing I'm also trying to implement is minimising transfers. They're set and forget if you stick with them and then use transfers up top and in midfield

                Auba - Bruno - KDB/Sterling

You won’t know when they’ll come though is the issue. Robbo’s performance in the first 10 last season won’t be representative of how he might perform in the first 10 this season.

In my view people also massively overstate the Alisson/Gomez effect too. Liverpool’s defensive stats didn’t change much between 1-15 and 15-30. I know people will say they ‘looked’ more solid and kept more CS and attribute it to those two, but I’d expect that extra solidity to be borne out in statistical improvements too (less chances conceded/lower quality of chances conceded, and in Alisson’s case a high xG prevented delta) or its just as likely to be variance for me.

Yeah, good post. I felt the Pool defence looked terrible instantly when Alisson was still fit and Gomez was playing. They'd be shaping up terribly in pre season too.

Allison is a World Class GK. Have seen him saving pool's ass last season sometimes.

Gomez is quick & is perfect foil for VVD as they play high line & confident in each others ability to win ball back if they lose in 2v2 situations. Matip doesn't offer that.

Didn't mention backup GK as don't want to say bad about him as everyone bashes him anyway

It’s fine to say all that and I don’t necessarily disagree, but on the Gomez point in particular I’d expect that to result in much stronger defensive stats (lower chances conceded and therefore xG conceded) and it just didn’t.

I don’t trust my eyes enough in isolation to tell me if a defence has truly improved or not, but if they have it’s one of the easiest things to see in terms of a change in chances conceded etc.

Same issue with united. People see Maguire etc making mistakes and think they’re a terrible defence when in actual fact they really aren’t.

Soucek is in my GW1 team, then he’s going on my bench and will make the odd cameo in my team in a 3-5-2, if I don’t fancy a fixture for one of my defenders.

            1m ITB:
            McCarthy (Peacock-Farrell)
            Tierney, Lascelles, Dier, Ayling (Johnson)
            Son, Willian, Ziyech, Pereira (KDB)
            Vardy, Bamford (Martial)

Johnson 4.0 is the only unsecure starter who might get some PT along the season. Pool players in from gw4 and like usually changes because of injuries/red cards etc. will ruin some plans, that’s why I’m not going to plan much more.

Well, it's certainly different! I get keeping a player on the bench who isn't playing GW1 but two premiums seems excessive. Who do you bench GW2 from that front line?? I can't see the formation

Hi, is Davies nailed at Tottenham or will he rotate?

Sessegnon could take some of his minutes away, but I do think Davies will see the lions share.

I’m going for Dier as I think he will do well.
He will also be very dangerous when going up for set pieces.

Davies will play. Whether he is nailed is up in the air.
