Spurs host Fulham in Blank Gameweek 18 as Villa fixture postponed

Fantasy Premier League have been subjected to yet another spin of the fixture-dice as Blank Gameweek 18 changes complexion once again.

Just over 24 hours before Tuesday’s 16:30 GMT deadline, Aston Villa’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur was officially called off.

That means no midweek fixture for Jack Grealish (£7.7m), Ollie Watkins (£6.1m) and Emiliano Martínez (£5.1m), three popular Fantasy assets.

However, Harry Kane (£11.0m) and Son Heung-min (£9.8m) remain viable options for Blank Gameweek 18 as their home meeting with Fulham was added as a replacement for the Villa game.

Considering how short-notice the fixture is for the Cottagers, both of Spurs’ dynamic duo are certain to wrestle their way into the captaincy conversation.

They both registered double-figure hauls in their last home Premier League game, against Leeds, and could benefit from Fulham’s short turnaround.

Meanwhile, it also means that budget options such as André-Franck Zambo Anguissa (£4.5m) and Ademola Lookman (£5.0m) have been added to the pool of players who could help managers in Free Hit squads.

The secondary knock-on effect of today’s fixture changes also impacts on Double Gameweek 19.

That is because Fulham’s Friday-night meeting with Chelsea has been delayed until the following day, kicking off at 17:30 GMT now.

As this was the opening match of Double Gameweek 19, it looks as if the deadline for that round will move to 11:00 GMT on Saturday morning ahead of Wolves’ lunch-time meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

Scout predicted lineups doesn't have Clark starting for Newcastle so maybe switch for Yedlin.

Think so, if you can cover the top 3-4 captain candidates plus some of MCI, ARS, TOT and MUN in defence it should be ok, especially if Cap choice returns for you

Bench boost in 19 of Martinez, saka, holding and Dallas worth it (and the risk of not all games going ahead?)

Need to decide this week to justify a couple of hits...

    Here's one for ye:

    A) Use FH this week, get out a tasty XI, one ft and maybe a hit to get out a strong DGW19 team and use TC on KDB.

    B) Use 2fts this week (Salah to Son/Grealish to Saka) and get out 8 players (no hit), get out an "ok-ish" DGW19 team and use TC on KDB.

    Leaning towards A.

If they include Mitchell, Kilman, Brewster level players then A.

    Would you FH this?

      No FTs?

I have same, just with Dier/Saka/Taylor*/Burke*
      instead of Lowton/Mitchell

Its a decent team for the GW, but tempted to WC, and prepare for the double, removing the -4 ive already took, and the likely -4 ill take next gw to get Salah in.

Already made 2 FTs to bring in KdB and Cancelo, which come to think of it would be reset if I played FH....so against it now!

Even the fact I’ve made 2 FTs to bring in KdB and Cancelo? Which FH would reset back to Cresswell and Salah (will want KdB and Cancelo for the double)

      Similar situation:

    Not on FH:

For GW18 - DCL & Grealish to McGoldrick & Saka. (-4) McGoldrick will be on the bench after GW18!

    Then GW19 - Wilson & Yedlin to Bamford & Cancelo (-4)

This will get me 10 out for GW18 and 9 double GWers + Kane & Son for GW19. Sound good?

Just seen the Spurs news (play in 18) - Well chuffed with that!

Still have Grealish & Martinez to worry about, but things are looking much rosier now.

Definitely not worth a FH or WC this now is it? Have a FT as well which I was planning on rolling, but could be persuaded to use it...

    Dier - Cancelo - Holding - Mitchell
    KDB - Sterling - Bruno
    Kane - Brewster

Could do Grealish > Neto or something like that, but not worth it if Villa DGW is on and Grealish ends up playing

Grealish > Neto looks good. Neto's SGW is WBA. Grealish has loads of problems now to contend with.

      1. He has to not be one of the COVID guys
      2. The Everton fixture needs to be on (we might not know before GW19 deadline because it's on Sunday)
      3. He has 4 YCs. So even if both 1 and 2 go right, he has to dodge a YC in the first game in order to get.... City as his extra game.

Is it safe to go without Salah in the DGW? Two home matches but can see both being low scoring occasions. Can bring in Kane and 6-7m playing midfielder this week for a -4, field 9 decent players and avoid FH in that case

Avoiding FH is probably the best play.

I sold Salah this week (for Sterling) and I'm still torn whether to bring him back or not for 19. Something looks off with him - and Pool in general.

A few things to point out for Free hitters:

    - Newcastle are shocking attacking wise. Dont expect anything from Wilson even against Sheffield
    - On the other hand defence wise, Newcastle are decent and especially against the worst attack in the league, they could be better defensive options than Arsenal assets for example since they are also more likely to get bonus points over their attackers
    - Brighton are really not that bad. They have a greater xG than the like of Spurs and Everton. Might be something to consider if you want to double up on City defenders
    -
