Who are the best Everton players to own for FPL Double Gameweek 24?

Everton come under the spotlight as we begin our team-by-team look at the four clubs with two fixtures in Double Gameweek 24.

After a flying start to the season, the Toffees have endured a mixed run of form and face-off against Fulham and Manchester City in Double Gameweek 24.

The 500,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players who have brought Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m) into their teams for the double now face an anxious wait after the striker was substituted off with a hamstring injury in their FA Cup clash with Spurs.

With other assets like Richarlison (£7.8m), James Rodriguez (£7.7m) and Lucas Digne (£6.1m) receiving some attention, we are assessing Everton’s FPL credentials using Opta data.

As this article uses a significant amount of information from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

THE FORM

Everton started the season as unlikely title contenders after a series of impressive results.

After scoring 14 goals in their first five Gameweeks, Calvert-Lewin was a fixture in nearly every team, with Rodriguez and Digne also picking up a decent following.

But injuries to key players saw the Toffees drop out of form, with Carlo Ancelotti choosing a more defensive style of play to grind out victories.

However, recent results and a return to form for Calvert-Lewin, who failed to score a single goal from Gameweek 12 to Gameweek 21, have seen a resurgence in Everton ownership.

How can you have two games at the same stage of the same comp and one has VAR and the other doesn’t? Rubbish

I guess the reasoning is that VAR improves the game (lol) so if they have the facility to use it at a ground it gets used, rather than lowering all games to the lowest standard (or some balderdash like that)

            Yep.

But the inconsistent use of the VAR which can turn on a slightest thing is a thing.

But the suggestion here (I think) is to turn VAR off in all cup games, so that wouldn't stop Barnsley being hard done by here?

Chelsea would have had a penalty in the first half and BBC coverage have all but proven Tammy was onside for the goal. Barnsley were unlucky tho, probably the better team.

How does this look for a WC draft?

    Pope
    Cancelo - Shaw - Dallas
    Sterling - Gundogan - Bruno - Rashford
    Ings - Richarlison - Bamford

    Martinez - Mitchell - Sanchez - Raphinha

Can get Kane and one of Grealish or Watkins for 26. Changing from double City defence to double midfield is one concern, and Sanchez could be anyone else really (need a benchable defender for the next few GWs, and Spurs defender seemed a good fit)

Rashford has Newcastle, West Brom and a double with Palace (and chelsea which is tight game). Son has City and West Ham, and then a nice double, which I could get Kane for, although I'd love both Kane and Son for 26.

Only way I can get Son in this team is if i keep double City defence and get Son for Sterling, which I could do if Dias is confirmed to be ok

          Mis-info.

          There's 8 fa cup teams in gw29.

Half again in 33 or whenever.

Amazing how those who free hit away can't accept it was a waste around gw18.

The over planners were caught out and for those who play for some superior strategic position it must hurt.

But was also entirely foreseeable in the long view and also x weeks out. Not the postponed games but piling in for 15 dgw players.

But it wasn't a waste, different for everyone, my FH18 was a great success compared to what I would have put out on the park otherwise.

Amazing how those who make such sweeping statements tend to not have a linked team on their profile...

There’s not a one size fits all strategy. If there was, we’d all play our chips on the same gameweeks. Different chips work for different teams at different times. You should maybe accept that fact.

Give me your predictions for the likeliness of this lot playing this weekend..:

        A - DCL
        B - Antonio

If chasing a fair bit, then go for it. Vert risky tho, based on history

Too risky. Make a better bet, just not to fall more behind.

        Pope
        Dias Coufal Taylor*
        Salah Bruno Grealish Gundogan
        Antonio Bamford Watkins

        McCarthy Son Justin Dallas

        2ft 2.9itb

        Worth doing Salah to Sterling?
Original plan was getting Cancelo and DCL

DCL to Cavani for the next 2 then switch to Kane for 26?
Spurs play WHU in 25, can I survive without him for that one.

Well I need to get Bamford too, most likely for Antonio so one of the big hitters will need to depart for Kane. Just a matter of when
Totally get why you’d say bring in Kane earlier just might involve hits

        Martinez Johnstone
        Robertson Dias Stones Dallas Coufal
        Salah Bruno Grealish Gundo Soucek
        Kane Bamford Antonio

Have 1.0 ITB and a use it or lose it transfer.

No Free Hit left, so need to sort of plan around the upcoming doubles and blanks. Do any of these make sense?

        a) Robertson to Mee (mostly to get this double and raise funds)
        b) Antonio to Watkins (lateral move that gets me 2 extra games in the long run)
        c) Johnstone to Pope (might get me more points this week?)
        d) Something else?

        Thanks!

            Thanks.

My only apprehension is that Liverpool have SHU and FUL coming up, which are pretty juicy for Robertson. Although doing that this week and then Antonio to Watkins next week is probably the play.

Could possibly have this team for BB26:

        Martinez
        Cancelo Stones Targett
        Bruno Son Gundo Grealish
        Kane Vardy DCL
        BB: Pope Lowton Raphinha* Coufal*

WC doesn't seem necessary does it?

Is that actually better BB team than you could have earlier?

Cheers! Alternative is Martinez Bamford Targett Coufal this week, but DCL or Antonio could drop to the bench...

        Martinez Forster*

        Dias Cancelo Maguire Dallas Mee

        Salah Bruno Son Grealish Gundogan

        Antonio Bamford Welbeck*

With WC and BB, 2 FT and 3.5m itb, what would you do? I am leaning towards GW26 with 11-12 DGW players + 3-4 BGW29 players, plus 2 Villa and 2 Spurs... have no idea when to use BB and WC to be honest.
