Euro 2012 – Daily Captain Polls

As of this afternoon, we’re rolling out Captain Polls on a daily basis ahead of tomorrow’s 5pm Group A kick-off between Poland and Greece.

With the McDonald’s Uefa game allowing us to change the armband every Matchday in each round of action, Fantasy managers will have plenty of tinkering and decisions to make as the games arrive thick and fast.

Our intention is to update the poll once the first game of each Matchday has kicked off. As usual, you will find the poll in the middle of the main page, with 15 protagonists per day to choose from.

      Iniesta. He was their most forward player against China, and seemed central to all the best attacks. The goal came when he dribbled past 4 defenders and squared the ball for Silva. If Silva was classed as a mid, he's be the best pick though.

          Xavi is an ok pick because he is more central etc and on set-pieces, but he tends to distribute out wide and hence usually assists the assist. And he rarely takes a shot, he always passes, hence his good possession stats (he plays safe)

      A bit of both, for me. Snejider is undoubtadly quality, but the way Afellay has come on lately, I don't see 3m worth of extra value in him.

      You captain a player in any of the group a games.

      If he doesnt do the business you can pick a captain from group b ie RVP and so on.

    This game is a frigging nightmare. I thought it was going to be a light-hearted bit of fun but I feel like I just put one foot into a quagmire and I'm getting slowly sucked down. I now have somebody called Konoplyanka in my team; I'd never heard of him until yesterday but he seems quite the rising star, according to several footy boffins on the interwebs.

        Dzagoev is the better player (don't know how many times i've said this on here now) so will be sticking with him. Toivonen's a great differential, i'll only be swapping him if another player only got 2 points or something

            not bothering with Iniesta, Spain's midfield points are quite spread out, any one of them could make the assist pass! Already have Ozil and Sniejder, just go for those two

    FFS Friendly World Cup Preview

    Group C

    Argentina - The Candian Jelavic (Candian Football and Archie)

    A very powerful team this Argentine/Croatian/Candian axis team can rightly expect to be highly fancied in this competition. Canadian Football will be hoping to transfer his FPL form to this contest, whilst Archie will hope to follow his beloved Liverpool into the Euros. The team name implies that much faith has been placed in Nikica Jelavic, but with a price tag of just 5.0 he represents a risk well worth taking. This team could do very well in this tournament.

    Prediction - 1st

    Ivory Coast - The Mull Boson (Mull and The Giggs Boson)

    The Giggs Boson really should be more careful over who teams up with. Mull has a nasty habit of ruining perfectly good European campaigns. He may win a few matches, but when he loses he loses badly (a -100 gd anyone?). That being said this is still a strong team who will feel confident of progressing to the knockout stages. Mull offers a team packed with differentials and the Giggs Boson offers a decent nous for picking the right player that will make this team difficult to beat. That being said I still feel 2nd place might be all they can hope for.

    Prediction - 2nd

    Japan - Wazz-'Erbil (Wazza-Goal and Djerbil)

    Wazza-Goal (aka Sarnab) had better get used to losing :P. Although he has a strong partner he is a group with 2 very good pairings and this might make progress very difficult. That being said, both of these men have proved themselves to be very strong players who should make a strong team. Their opponents should underestimate them at their peril, and if they happen to come up against Mull on a bad day then there could be some fireworks. Alas I still an early elimination, albeit a close one.

    Prediction - 3rd

    Serbia - Gdansk for the memories (Teddy and Messimerized).

    Despite having the 2nd best team name in the tounament, I predict this will be a struggle for this team. Although both are talented players they face an uphill task against 3 very strong teams and this could prove to be just too much for them. That being said, I expect a strong performance and this team will not lose games by much, but a loss is a loss and with only 3 games to play even 1 defeat could prove enough and I forsee a tough task to overcome Wazz'Erbil, though they may get help against Sarnab. 😛

    Sorry if this comes across as a complete newb question being really struggling to understand how the Euro Pro League works.

    After the excitement of the auctions have come to a close it seems like you pick you team for each single match…..which to me seems to me to defeat the point of having formations/subs etc
    Why isn’t there a set ‘Gameweek’ for say for each section of the group games?

    Any I missing something critical!?

    Anyone clued up on the Sky Sports game?

    Just registered and as far as I can tell you seem to be able to have a captain in every game of the group stage by using a combination of a daily captain change and also transferring your captain after he has played.

    Sorry if this has been covered, but it seems rather odd to me..
