The draw for the first round of the 2019/20 FFS Cup FFS Cup

After a record number of entrants for the third Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power, over 1300 fantasy managers fell at one of ten stages leaving just one to claim the top prize.

Joining FFS Cup I winner donnellyc and FFS Cup II winner Jonty, gooner dave takes his place in our Hall of Fame, becoming the first winner from the continent. Saving his biggest win for the final, he absolutely trashed tippman 69 – 36…

In a reasonably low-scoring week, a double-figure haul from Samir Nasri, an eight and a nine point return from captain Carlos Tevez and Paul Robinson respectively, saw him ease over the line with an excellent score. So, along with his second top-scorer prize, gooner dave receives a free £200 bet courtesy of Paddy Power, meaning he comes out of the competition with his pockets lined with £250 worth of free bets.

In contrast, tippman had a miserable week. When Paul Konchesky is your top-scoring player, you can’t really hope to beat anyone. Couple that with the most, erm, surprising choice of captaincy I’ve ever seen in Raul Meireles, and the runners-up prize of a free £100 bet courtesy of Paddy Power, looks a welcome consolation.

Elsewhere, in our 3rd place play-off, The Von successfully used an eight-point hit to narrowly beat DRP 64 – 61 and claim a free £50 bet.

Well that’ll do it then. Thanks to everyone for taking part, I hope you enjoyed it whilst it lasted for you, and thanks also to SUPERIOR BEING for his help throughout.

El capitan pick a tough one this week.....I have the top 3 in the pole as most will but proper stuck!

I'm swaying towards Torres against a dilapidated NUFC defence and to celebrate the birth of his baby.

    Whats everyone doing?

Nani for me. BTW for some reason I cant see the captain poll, its not working on my PC, can you tell me who the top few are? cheers 🙂

Torres i'm not sure, the birth of a child will, imo, only make him more tired from lack of sleep! also torres is quite unpredictable and his record away from home is far from impressive

        No probs:

        T. Cahill (25%, 779 Votes)Nani (11%, 358 Votes)Torres (11%, 334 Votes)Etherington (6%, 183 Votes)Elmander (6%, 181 Votes)Rooney (5%, 146 Votes)Nasri (4%, 132 Votes)

Agree with the Torres thing actually being a new Dad myself....i am struggling, i might just go with the poll and choose Cahill.

Worth a four point hit to do two changes to remove the doubtful Barton and unreliable Milner for Cahill and Bale? It would give me this line up

    Jaask
    Knight, Jagielka, Samba
    CAHILL, Nani, Nasri, BALE, N'Zogbia
    Carroll, Drogba

Any better suggestions than Bale for the next couple of weeks?

        bale>Yaya toure neway

those moves definitely seem worth 4 points to me, milner was a good punt, but it never did , and will not work out!!

Silva on the other hand, silva could come good, watching the game, its him and tevez involved in everything! i dont see anyone else making the assits but him this weekend!

Any thoughts on a better transfer to do this week than Drogba out for Torres?

    Current team:

    Schwarzer (Al-Habsi)
    Cashley, Vidic, Jones (Kolarov, Jara)
Nani (c), Kuyt, Jarvis, Bale (N'Zogbia)
    Carroll, Drogba, Elmander

Planning on doing Tevez in for Carroll perhaps next week then will see when its best to ditch Schwarzer before he fecks off.

    Evening

Usual difficult decision of who to bench out of

    Nani, Brunt, MGP, Malouda, Nasri.
    Drogba, Torres, Elmander

I am leaning towards Elmander but would really appreciate thoughts.

Going to captain Torres on the basis that Newcastle in a justifiable sulk and Torres wanting to impress his new child!

    Thanks all

    Cahill, Nasri, Nani, Barton, Dunn
    Elmander, Tevez, Drogba

    This week:
Steinsson, Barton OUT, Albrighton, Jones IN (good long term xfers for 4 pt hit)
Drogba OUT Torres In next week
then 0 transfers, then Drogba, Cleverly IN Elmander, Dunn OUT

If no injuries... thats my plan!

            Maybe

            Drogba -> Torres
            Barton -> Albrighton

The amount of goals spurs concede puts me off tho...

Guys, i need some help on a mid-term decision. Whichever one i choose will stay in my team for the next 6 GWs at least. In this time, i may not be able to change my FF team so I dont want to buy anyone who might score highly tomorrow then go missing for three weeks afterwards. cheers.

    1) Jarvis to Silva
    Drogba to Torres (4pt)
    2) Drogba to Balotelli
    3) Jarvis to Silva
    4) Any of above, except change Jarvis to Dunn
    5) Nothing
    6) other

    Team is:

    Foster Krul
    KToure Kyrgiakos Samba GCahill Coleman
    Nani Nasri Dunn Brunt Jarvis
    Drogba Tevez Carroll
    4.4

Point hits are totally fine up to 8pts. Any ideas will be appreciated. 😀

If you can't touch your team for 6 weeks Dunn is far too risky. Don't rate Silva though, although also risky, VDV should be back next week.

I was thinking of bringing in Torres for Tevez this week, and then swapping out Jones and Malouda for Tevez and a cheap midfielder the week after... Tevez and Torres both look like great options from next week but I want to keep Jones this week because he's against Blackpool.

Yeah although his stats are excellent. He's assisted or scored in nearly every game this season, home or away, even when the team as a whole was playing awfully.

I couldn't drop him unless the whole sacking business affects his form.
