The draw for the first round of the 2019/20 FFS Cup FFS Cup

After a record number of entrants for the third Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power, over 1300 fantasy managers fell at one of ten stages leaving just one to claim the top prize.

Joining FFS Cup I winner donnellyc and FFS Cup II winner Jonty, gooner dave takes his place in our Hall of Fame, becoming the first winner from the continent. Saving his biggest win for the final, he absolutely trashed tippman 69 – 36…

In a reasonably low-scoring week, a double-figure haul from Samir Nasri, an eight and a nine point return from captain Carlos Tevez and Paul Robinson respectively, saw him ease over the line with an excellent score. So, along with his second top-scorer prize, gooner dave receives a free £200 bet courtesy of Paddy Power, meaning he comes out of the competition with his pockets lined with £250 worth of free bets.

In contrast, tippman had a miserable week. When Paul Konchesky is your top-scoring player, you can’t really hope to beat anyone. Couple that with the most, erm, surprising choice of captaincy I’ve ever seen in Raul Meireles, and the runners-up prize of a free £100 bet courtesy of Paddy Power, looks a welcome consolation.

Elsewhere, in our 3rd place play-off, The Von successfully used an eight-point hit to narrowly beat DRP 64 – 61 and claim a free £50 bet.

Well that’ll do it then. Thanks to everyone for taking part, I hope you enjoyed it whilst it lasted for you, and thanks also to SUPERIOR BEING for his help throughout.

Coming Soon: The Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV…

If Liverpool go on a run and start keeping clean sheets, Agger won't be rushed back - I think Krgiakos is good business right now

I see everyone is backing Torres and the Pool to do the business this week. 2 things stand out for me on this one:

      1) Newcastle have been one of the most inconsistent sides of the season and live upto the cliche on their day they can beat anyone. New manager and all just might give them the edge.

      2) Pool are rubbish away this season.

Honestly can't see why Torres is getting so much love at the moment. His output hasn't exactly been great, and it was only a few weeks ago that nobody would even go near liverpool players.

I personally would be holding tight and looking to Tevez or Rooney in the next couple of weeks.

Yes because Rooney's output has made Torres look like DJ Campbell in the last 8 months.

Well he looked sharp on his return, and that's why i'd be waiting a couple of weeks - to see how he does. Looking to =/= getting in, but thanks for the sarcasm regardless.

Also, to be fair, looking at the past 8 months i'm sure DJ Campbell has netted much more than either Torres or Rooney.

I don't understand your logic, you are put off Torres with his 5 goals and 5 assists playing crap this season but prefer someone who hasn't scored in open play for 8 months, unfortunately looking sharp does not score you points.

Well the point is that his break and getting his new contract sorted and putting his personal problems aside, alot of people were expecting the Rooney of last season to emerge after his injury. In the game i've seen since then he looked very sharp, when he was playing badly he looked well off the pace, touch was awful, looked clearly frustrated.

A sharp Rooney will score points, don't worry about that!

But you're missing the point, i'm not saying Rooney is a better option than Torres right now, i'm saying that Torres doesn't strike me as a great option at the moment, certainly not deserving of the attention he is getting round here. What i'm saying is that i'd rather do nothing - and in a couple of weeks if Rooney is doing well (which i expect he will be) then i'd go for him instead.
              Comprende?

You are missing the point mate, Torres is getting the attention simply because Liverpool are finding a bit of form approaching a set of fixtures in which it should continue in, 3 home games in 5 is not something to be overlooking when he scores so well at home, no need for the comprende bit as we can all be cocks if need be but im having a decent enough discussion, its ok, I forgive you.

I'm missing the point i'm trying to make? I don't think so mate.

And it's a bit rich to say all that considering it was you who started with the sarcasm and were being so dismissive, and the comprende bit was very much meant literally, as you were obviously missing my point before.

Anyway, i'm done with this - agree to disagree. Or if you can't do that then go argue with a mirror or something.

You are missing the point as to why Torres is getting so much love,

I am explaining that its fixture related, look, all blues.....

Carroll has got 4+ in each of the last 9 weeks and is playing at home, Bent has got over 4 twice in the same amount of time and is playing away.

Yeah, Newcastle might not turn up, but if they do, Carroll will more than likely be involved and I don't really take the Newcastle slump talk, stick and see imo.

Is it just me or does Drogba to Torres seem a bit premature this week.
Yes, Drogba isn't firing on all cylinders but Spurs don't keep clean sheets and i fancy Drogba to score against us.
As for Torres, he isn't firing yet either and up against a Newcastle team that will want to play well for their new manager, regardless of whether they think it is a good appointment.
Torres from next week, definitely, but this week not for me, especially for a hit as some are doing.
But who can resist the bandwagon................

So you think waiting one whole week is the difference between him firing on all cylinders or not?

Sounds like someone wants to jump on the train to me but are trying to convince themselves otherwise.

Was the word 'whole' put in to magnify your point? 😉

Drogba could realistically do well this weekend, why not? Form stops at some point.
