FPL Double Gameweeks: What we know and what is still to be confirmed

**Last updated: Saturday 3 May**

There are just three more Gameweeks of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) remaining, two of which are ‘doubles’.

With City’s fixture against Wolves dropping earlier than some had predicted, Double Gameweek 36 is the bigger by some margin with 12 teams enjoying a brace of matches, versus just five in Gameweek 37.

There’s just one blank remaining, with Manchester United the only team not to feature in Gameweek 37.

VISUAL OVERVIEW OF THE FINAL SCHEDULE

TEAMS WITH THE MOST FIXTURES REMAINING (GAMEWEEK 36 ONWARDS)

In-form Robertson an appealing FPL differential for Gameweek 23 and beyond 1
  • 5 – Aston Villa, Everton, Leicester
  • 4 – Arsenal, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Leeds, Liverpool, Man City, Norwich, Spurs, Watford, Wolves
  • 3 – Brentford, Brighton, Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham
  • 2 – Man Utd

Aston Villa, Everton and Leicester are the three clubs with two Double Gameweeks remaining, whilst Manchester United have the fewest games left, with just three fixtures ahead.

How times have changed as I am now tempted to bring in Joelinton for Wilson. It’s either him or King (enabler for bringing in Kane for the weekend).

Joelinton is playing a sort of swashbuckling attacking mid role atm, you want someone with a bit more attack potential. For sure King

My thinking was that with Wilson injured he could be pushed further forward of necessity. May be wrong though.

Could happen, yeah. He's been the best though in that position. I think Gayle might start for Wilson

What's his goals and assists record like in the dozens of games he'd played further forward in the past 2 years?

Terrible but he just seems to be a better player now. Will probably go safe with King anyway. Was just a thought.

King has been a Troll recently but do I remember right that he was a DGW monster back in the day? Maybe he is the guy these next few weeks

Joelinton has never done enough to earn the tag 'Troll'

  2. How do you make your transfer decisions?

When making a transfer do you…?

    A) Identify who you want to bring in, *then*look at who you can sell in your team to get that person.

    B) Identify who you really want to sell in your squad, *then* look for appropriate replacements in that position and within your budget.

    C) Just wing it

Both often. Sometimes a player is so good and has plum fixtures, that I want him in. Sterling scored a hattie once and Pukki scored vs Liv and had good fixture. One mid priced to Sterling and Kane to Pukki to fund it.

But after starting this season with Barnes and Harrison over Raph and Benrahma, I soon learned my mistake and don't know which one was the main reason. Antonio on the other had I wanted out because he had been poor and his fixtures turned sour. Don't even remenber who came to his place (Wood vs Nor possibly).

Every week in looking at the form of the players I own and the form of players I don't own.

However hot that form is either way dictates who needs to be sold Vs who needs to be bought.

I'd hope I can rest on who needs to be bought as it means all my players are doing well

Mostly A since transfers are usually forward-looking and I have an idea of who could be a good transfer in. Who I sell is largely dependent on team structure, which is important to keep flexible.

This season some players have proven tough to sell, so for the first time ever I've gone for 14/15 players instead of the usual 5th mid/5th def fodder. It has proven to be wildly successful in the first half of the season.

      You (and I) absolutely did.
That Salah penalty miss was 1st pen he’s missed since 2017.
Kane was an armpit hair away from another goal (assisted by Son).
Straight away we’re talking double figure points swings there…

yeah it's unbelievable luck really. I don't really know why I don't own any of them, I guess it's been a bit of a bizarre few week. I've bought Antonio twice and changed my keeper twice for example

Ha, I’m the same pal with the keepers Sanchez > DDG > Ramsdale > Lloris 🙁

But funnily enough I’m in the black points wise, even taking hits for most of those.

I hear ya. sometimes the best thing to do is nothing but if you're player is blanking anyway taking a -4 is more of a -2, it's more fun making tranny's though even if it's detrimental in the long term!

Rogers also said Justin's injury wasn't serious last season and it was an ACL.
Maddison's done his calf plenty of times and from what I remember it was a few weeks each time.
I'm nursing a calf strain myself at the moment and they are annoying to heal

After weeks of careful planning and setting up a strong squad, it has now become a mess in order to field at least 9-10 players every week during these recent uncertain times.

    Ramsdale, Lloris
    TAA, Cancelo, Rudiger, Lamptey, Dalot
    Bernardo, Gallagher, Son, Bowen, Jota
    Lacazette, Watkins, Dennis
    1FT, 2.8m itb

Who would you sell first? My thinking is:
    A) Lloris + Lacazette -> Bachmann + Kane for a hit.
    B) Lloris -> Bachmann (wait one more week for Kane)
    C) Lacazette -> 11.2m (Vardy / King / Jesus / Antonio / Calvert-Lewin)
    D) Rudiger -> van Dijk
    E) Something else

King is attractive for the short term, but Calvert-Lewin is attractive for the long term. Also, Jesus might get more minutes with Mahrez away. Same with Vardy with Iheanacho away.

Any requirement to trigger a WC here? I’d like to golf off and just move out Foden to tielemans/Maddison

    Ramsdale (Foster)
    Livramento Cancelo TAA (Dier, White)
    Foden Son Salah Bowen (Jorginho)
    Broja Antonio Watkins

Have to be careful if DGW's in GW 21 and GW 22 which one to use the FH in as can't use them twice in a row.

I am wary of using FH in GW21. Liverpool Chelsea could be 0:0 or 3:2. Either way, James and TAA could score better than a Burnley defender

Sorry if I’m late to the party on this one…

Opportunity for a third fixture midweek of w/c 10/01, when the Carabao Cup second legs are on… that midweek was the suggested dates for the dgw originally.

I just listened to Gianni and AZ on team selection.
They were talking about Dennis having a DGW GW21. Maybe they did not realize Dennis is away 3 January and would end up with only one as all AFCON players, regardless of the GW.

Probably not, most of the pro's rely on others in their process. It makes them questionable pundits

As said below, I saw from Ranieri that Dennis was a doubt to go for AFCON.

Ranieri was saying he might not go, he might be an option depending on what happens.

That is highly unlikely. Think of the turmoil for the player. If Dennis wants to stay then fair enough. Not being a pain Az but it might be worth a mention before many walk blindly into a Dennis DGW and find out they don't.

I think all I said was that he might be an option in the DGW, I don't think I was saying that people should rush out and buy him. As with all players, we want info.
I completely agree with you on the turmoil, surely he goes, but there is an element of doubt.

Toney and Mahrez to have 2+ shots on target, 4+ corners for each team and 2+ cards for each team in the city game.

When we free hit during the doubles are most of you keeping the likes of Cancelo and TAA in your teams?

Virtually everyone in the top 10k has those. Any points they get is not going to improve your rank unless captained.

Just for one week I'm going to gamble and have a full 11 play twice.

Think it would be worth it.
