Who are the best FPL captain options for Double Gameweek 25?

Bruno Fernandes (£11.7m) and Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.5m) have emerged as the two outstanding candidates for the Double Gameweek 25 captaincy, with Manchester United preparing to take on Southampton and Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

The question for many is how to choose between them and, of course, are there any single Gameweek options we must make sure we do not overlook.

First, we will assess the fallout of the Double Gameweek 25 captain poll, before then analysing the best options, Rate My Team (RMT) and the Premier Fantasy Tools ratings ahead of Saturday’s 11:00 GMT deadline.

THE CAPTAIN POLL

Bruno Fernandes is the leader of the captain poll in Double Gameweek 25, with 39.88% of total votes from our users at the time of writing.

Meanwhile, team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is in second place, backed by 20.7%. The forward got his rest against Burnley in Gameweek 24, though further minute management can’t be completely ruled out, which we’ll discuss below.

Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) occupies third place with 12.09%, followed by Kevin De Bruyne (£12.2m) and David de Gea (£5.3m), with 7.79% and 7.33% respectively.

          Selling the the guy that will be the highest capped player is very risky. Could be suicide. Salah has not scored vs Burnley since 2017. Don't get me wrong he is a good option but can't sell Bruno.

          Maupay has 3 attacking returns in his past 4 games played, sure he hasnt scored but alot better than watkins, dennis , antonio,dcl, king.
          So not a bad pick and as an owner of him , watkins and dennis, I'd rather have him with weghorst and broja. Watkins has that firmino feel to him as far as being the guy to be a nuisance to the defenders and create spaces for others like coutinho and ramsey to get in, the only difference is he lacks firminos scoring and assist qualities

      I'd keep.

      He's developed into a top player and there's a rumour he's being pursued by Real Madrid, Liverpool, and City. He was always good going forwards but his defensive capability has gone up a tremendous amount this season, pocketing the likes of Salah and Sterling. He's recently come back from injury, so may have his minutes managed, but it's not going to hurt holding such a cheap player for now.

      Might be, Rangnick seems to be letting him off the leash to attack a bit more, as Ole should have been.

      Bit early for me personally, I want a bit more data and returns behind him before investing, but a quality punt.
