Norwich City v Manchester City brings the curtain down on Saturday’s Gameweek 25 action, with kick-off at Carrow Road at 17:30 GMT.

As anticipated, Pep Guardiola has made a number of changes to his starting XI with perhaps more than one eye on Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon.

There are five alterations in all from the win over Brentford, with well-owned Fantasy Premier League (FPL) assets Aymeric Laporte, Joao Cancelo and Kevin De Bruyne all benched.

Rodri and John Stones also make way as Kyle Walker, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Nathan Ake, Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho come in.

One player who we thought might get a run-out tonight is Jack Grealish but the former Aston Villa man is not part of the matchday squad, with City confirming he is “unavailable”.

Initial journalist reports suggested Grealish could be out for a month but Guardiola said his midfielder could even be back in midweek – although did stress that further assessment would be required on what the City boss said was a recurrence of an issue the player struggled with at Villa in 2020/21.

Norwich make two changes from the side that drew with Crystal Palace in the week: Billy Gilmour and Josh Sargent come in for Adam Idah and Przemyslaw Placheta, which sees the Canaries move to a more defensive 4-3-3.

Norwich City XI: Gunn; Williams, Gibson, Hanley, Aarons; Gilmour, Lees-Melou, McLean, Rashica; Pukkio, Sargent.

Subs: McGovern, Byram, Zimmermann, Dowell, Placheta, Normann, Tzolis, Rowe, Giannouilis

Manchester City XI: Ederson; Zinchenko, Ake, Dias, Walker; Fernandinho, Gundogan, Foden; Mahrez, Silva, Sterling.

Subs: Carson, Stones, Laporte, Rodri, De Bruyne, Cancelo, Kayky, Delap, McAtee.

But did Sterling to Bruno C

Strong points still but obvs gutted to miss the hat trick

Yeah I very very nearly did KdB + Keane to Salah + Webster for -4. Will have to see how Salah does.

Obviously - Kane and get Weghorst for another player in that case. Or as another poster suggested you could use the money to go strong in midfield if you got Weghorst. Depends on your planning and thought process down the line. Others can't do all the planning for you.

      Wildcard's are dangerous things.
On paper my gw24 wildcard looked great - but none of my bench of Ramsey - Idah - Broja came on.

All of whom got points, Fast forward to gw25 - I am playing 10 men because KDB - Cancelo - did not start. Tierney had no match and Idah was injured. Need a Man United clean sheet v Brighton. The way United are playing I am not confident at all.

    Hi...planning a  - 8 for dgw26. Then I can get the team below for gw27 for  - 4

I have all chips in tact. Would you play this team below in 27 and save the free hits for gw30 and 33?

Or free hit in 27 and muddle thru 30?

    Thanks

    Ddg
Cancelo digne livra tarkowski or laporte

It’s hard to know but having 11 starters will be better than many -but with United Spurs and City all having decent fixtures 27 does give decent opportunity to get good points. Week 28 has fixtures turn and I am tempted to WC then

      1. Flynny
        • 10 Years
        3 years, 11 months ago

Thanks mate. If I can get 11 out in 27 I just think I might save the free hit for 30 - where I'll be fielding less than 11 otherwise.

Np idea on wildcard. I'm trying to save it till as close to the big dgw so I can maximise the bench boost....

Once I get Salah back for Bruno and Weghorst in for Antonio to fund -4 this would be set up for next week with 7 * doubles ( might take another hit for Ramsdale given double). Would you play Bowen over Raphinha, Edouard or King? Really tempted to WC after shocker today ..

    Likey?

    GW26: DDG + Dalot + Pedro > Pope + Tierney + Weghorst (-8)
    GW27: Jota > Coutinho
    GW28/29: Reguilon > Tomiyasu
    GW29/30: Dennis > Lacazette
GW30: 1FT to spare for something

Page has turned, but for my own benefit, that would be:

      GW26:
      POPE (Sanchez)
      TRENT REGUILON TIERNEY (Cancelo, Digne)
      SALAH JOTA SON Bowen (Ramsey)
      KING DENNIS WEGHORST

      GW27:
      Pope (Sanchez)
      Cancelo Reguilon Digne
      Son Bowen Coutinho Ramsey
      King Dennis Weghorst

      GW30:
      [Pope]
      Tierney Tomiyasu Digne
      Coutinho Ramsey
      Lacazette [Weghorst]
      + 1 FT
      [] = 50/50 chance

            I know.
I wish Salah didn’t have such good fixtures next week. I’d probably use BB.
            I’ll be benching Pickford,Dawson,Cancelo,Digne.
Not happy about benching the last two.

      2. Deulofail
        • 9 Years
        3 years, 11 months ago

        Also for my benefit:
I have exact money for this now, but Coutinho likely to rise.

Luckily, looks like Tomi is likely to drop by 0.1
Also Jota likely to rise before GW26 deadline, giving me 0.1

If I need the extra 0.1 or 0.2, I can get White (4.5) over Tomi (4.6/4.7) assuming his price hasn't risen (currently on 9.7% and rising fast).

Plan is probably worth the risk I reckon. Just hope for no injuries

Depends how long term you are thinking. I do think KDB could become less attractive over the season if the league gets wrapped up and they progress in the UCL. Already not on penalties isn’t great for the high price point.

Kane, definite starter and there are other great midfield options, not so much upfront
