We round up the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points of the day in FPL Daily, a weekday series that serves non-Premier League matchdays and days when we don’t bring you a team news/press conference round-up.

MAN UTD V BRIGHTON: DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 25 TEAM NEWS

There weren’t any fresh fitness concerns reported by either Ralf Rangnick or Graham Potter ahead of the final match of Double Gameweek 25 on Tuesday.

Edinson Cavani (£8.4m) won’t recover from a groin injury in time to face the Seagulls, which may bode well for Cristiano Ronaldo‘s (£12.5m) prospects of being handed successive starts in the league.

“Fred will be available again. He’ll also be part of the group for tomorrow. Edinson is still out, the same with Nema [Matic]. The rest is, well, Alex [Telles] is back again in the squad and already was part of the group for the Southampton game and he will also be available.” – Ralf Rangnick

Potter has the same squad available to him as he did on Saturday, with no-one returning and Lewis Dunk‘s (£4.8m) knee strapping not a hindrance to him playing.

“We will be as we were ahead of the Watford game. Enock Mwepu isn’t far away from being available. Jeremy Sarmiento’s rehab is going well so he’s getting closer. Lewis Dunk has been fine, he has trained well and recovered well. He’s in a good place.” – Graham Potter

GREALISH OUT

Jack Grealish (£7.5m) won’t shake off a recurring shin injury in time to face Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night, although his manager said he was “better” when facing the media on Monday.

“He is better, but for tomorrow he is not available alongside Cole Palmer and Gabriel [Jesus].” – Pep Guardiola

That prognosis could mean anything in Pep-speak and should Grealish and Gabriel Jesus (£8.5m) again miss out in Gameweek 26, the competition for places in the attacking trident is much less fierce and potentially bodes well for Phil Foden (£8.0m) et al against Spurs.

TRIPPIER FRACTURES FOOT

No sooner had the returning Kieran Trippier (£5.0m) made his mark on FPL again than he is sidelined for weeks, potentially months after fracturing the fifth metatarsal bone in his foot.

The defender had registered two goals, one clean sheet and 27 points in four matches for Newcastle but limped out of the match against Aston Villa on Saturday.

“Trippier underwent an X-ray immediately after the game and scans have shown a fracture to the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot. Everyone at the club wishes Kieran a speedy recovery.” – Newcastle club statement

Likely deputy Javier Manquillo (£3.9m) would have been one for the watchlist for the run-in but he too sustained an ankle ligament injury in Gameweek 25 and assessment is ongoing on him.

    For a -4
    A) Bilva to Saka
    B) Antonio to Jiminez

    Or
    C) take a minus 8 and do both
    D) do nothing and hope for returns

TC on Salah seems to be the better option than a BB with DDG, Dias, Watkins & Shaw on the bench, right?

For safety yes, in reality I can't see him starting both games, they have champions League and a cup final as part of 5 games in 15 days. And this is from him having played 120 mins for Egypt and extra time numerous times too

Ooooof. You make a good point. Cancello now on bench in place of Shaw who's been replaced with A Wolves defender.

According to projections, the players benched would need to amass 17 ish points to break even with mighty Mo. However, as you say, Mo is likely to play a bit part in one of the 2 fixtures. So maybe the 17 becomes more like 12... Kife edge stuff!

It's more about TC Salah this week vs TC someone else later on, and BB this vs another BB, imo. So, TC Salah.

TC v BB is not the right comparison.

The comparison should be GW26 TC vs a potential TC in a later GW. Or GW26 BB vs a vs a potential BB in a later GW

        I have Kane.

Captained him v Southampton, he was unlucky to an extent there. Had some half chances v Wolves too. Plan is to keep v Leeds and captain him. After that, probably downgrade at some point.

Probably was a mistake though, because Son is going to shoot whenever he has slight opportunity, he's on set pieces, too. Kane has penalties in his locker though. The lack of strikers pushed me towards going for Kane instead of Son, but I think Son is better.

      How good are Burnley actually?

Weghorst definitely adds to their offensive strength, they've shown some good form recently against stronger teams, they are known to be solid defensively, they've had so many games postponed it's not really fair to say they're bottom, and relegation candidates tend to get superpowers towards the end of the season. But can they be trusted?

Among DGW teams, I would trust them more than Spurs, Watford and Palace.

      DGW 26 team - 1 FT, 0.6m ITB

      DDG
      TAA* - Reguilon* - White* - Cancelo
      Salah* - Jota* - Foden - Bowen
      Edouard* - Watkins

      Bachmann - Coufal - Broja - Bilva

Bilva > Saka and bench either Watkins or Foden the move for this week?

Could also do Bilva + Foden > Ramsey + Son (-4)

Afternoon everyone, benching headache here, would love your initial thoughts on this team for upcoming game week (TC vs BB):

      Foster
      Ait Nouri TAA Tierney Cancelo
      Jota Bowen Salah (tc?) Foden
      Watkins King

      Sanchez Antonio Bernardo Livramento

Anybody Freehitting this week, the idea is starting to sway me instead of TC salah.

If you have only 1 free hit, don't use it now. There might be only 3 matches in GW30. In the other case, it depends on your team, will it be decent next GW with ARS CHE LIV blanks?

Seriously considering it. I have both and I won’t need to use one next week

Is there anyway to know how many average players left to play in the top 100k or ranks around me?

I don't think people should ask themselves should they play one chip or the other this week, i.e. should they TC Salah or BB. The question is, imo, is TC Salah this week better than TC on someone else later on, or is the bench strong enough than it will be on another occasion.

Ok, maybe you can put it this way, that great BB now and average TC later are equal to great TC now and average BB later on, so my point is not entirely true.

But, I don't think there will be better TC opportunity than Leeds and Norwich at home for Liverpool. I can understand that people think about Salah's minutes and that TAA is an alternative, but I think this is the best opportunity to deploy TC, and that it should be on Salah.

BB all day long for me. Will lose a 1/3 of points against those that TC Salah but could make that up with the BB. Bench really strong this week, gets the chip out of the way which over the years has been a disappointment . Then when I WC I don’t need to look at setting something up for 15 players.

    10. Are you Shaw?

The main questions that I want people and content creators especially to help with are:

      - Weghorst or Jiminez (or both?)
      - Three Arsenal players? Arsenal players = Free hit in 27 (but play in GW30 and could double in GW28 albeit against Chelsea)
      - Players being bought like Raphinha, Cornet, and Tierney to play both games? (no rest/fitness issues?)
      - Salah to play both games?
      - People wanting to keep a FH or both FHs till after 30? why? what's the advantage then than using it in GW27 or GW30?
