Gameweek 27 gets underway this evening as Southampton play host to Norwich City at St Mary’s Stadium.

Kick-off is at 20:00 GMT.

Ralph Hasenhuttl sticks with the same starting XI that beat Everton 2-0 in Gameweek 26.

That means Tino Livramento gets another start at full-back, with Romain Perraud – who missed that match after testing positive for Covid-19 – named as a substitute.

Further forward, Armando Broja is paired with Che Adams up front, with Stuart Armstrong and Mohamed Elyounoussi deployed in behind in Hasenhuttl’s 4-2-2-2 formation.

Alex McCarthy (hamstring), Lyanco (hamstring) and Nathan Tella (groin) remain out.

Opponents Norwich are also unchanged, with Josh Sargent and Milot Rashica flanking Teemu Pukki in Dean Smith’s 4-3-3 system.

Goalkeeper Tim Krul, meanwhile, has recovered from a shoulder injury and is named on the bench, which means Adam Idah (ankle/knee) and Andrew Omobamidele (back) are the only injured players, and will remain out for some time.

GAMEWEEK 27 LINE-UPS

Southampton XI: Forster, Livramento, Bednarek, Salisu, Walker-Peters, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, S Armstrong, Elyounoussi, Adams, Broja

Subs: Lewis, Stephens, Long, A Armstrong, Perraud, Djenepo, Diallo, Walcott, Valery

Norwich City XI: Gunn, Aarons, Hanley, Gibson, Williams, Normann, Gilmour, McLean, Sargent, Rashica, Pukki

Subs: Krul, Byram, Zimmermann, Rupp, Dowell, Placheta, Lees-Melou, Giannoulis, Rowe

Any idea if Cancelo is expected to be on the bench?
I see him in most predicted line ups though

Very doubtful. He's one of their most important players, and one of their fittest, too!

Given City have had a weeks rest, and only play Peterborough midweek, you'd expect Pep to play his strongest team against Everton. Cancelo surely starts.

Not worth worrying about though. Nothing you can do.

hes one of best City assets, Pep like to change squad after defeat but highly doubt he would bench Cancelo.
Laporte/Walker are more likely to be benched.

Stones/Ake to be fielded - unless Zinchenko really want to play to blow some steam due to sytuation in Ukraine.

On a Fh and pleased with KWP. I’ve captained Bruno over Weg though and worried about the hurt…

Just how good was KWP? Was he close to goals/assists?

Decided to play Elden Ring instead of watching Norwich. No regrets.

    It's really crazy how this game goes;

I took a gamble on Stones on FH so that I could afford Mahrez, Sterling, Bruno, Son and Kane. What do you think his chances are of starting?

His minutes after City drop points in the league are:
    0
    0
    90
    90
    90
    ?

Seems like a 50/50 from the team guessing folks.
      No idea outside of that.

      Assuming Livramento off the bench?

If Stones starts wouldn't surprise me for a 6 pointer and maybe a jammy goal.

Yeah Livra first on the bench.

Is anyone going to have 3 chips left from GW31 onwards? What's the plan?

    1. g40steve

      Planning on only FH

    2. BeWater

I think I'm going to have my WC and 2 FHs left at that point. Might WC in 31.

The way the fixtures have fallen means if I don't play a FH in 28 I won't need to in 30 either.

    3. Piggs Boson
      • 14 Years
      3 years, 10 months ago

      Only GW30 onwards.

      FH GW30 - blanks
WC GW31-35 - set up big BB
      BB GW36 in mahoosive DGW

The BB residue shouldn't matter as there's only 2 GWs after then.

      1. HD7

Good plan. Hope this blank 33 overlaps with plans for 36

I'm hoping I can use the WC to simultaneously navigate GW33 and set up for blanks at the same time. Might involve dead-ending in GW33, then WCing GW34.

            • 8 Years

Yeah Im in the same situation. How many DGWs 28 will you have?

            1. Piggs Boson
              • 14 Years
              3 years, 10 months ago

Anywhere from 5-7. Depends if Chelsea get a DGW. Have Reece James in place. Don't really want to load up on DGWers that week because they're generally poor teams, and I'd rather not be stuck with those players long-term.

Got all the key players for the GW29 DGW: 3 Pool, Son, Saka, Ramsdale

              1. HD7

                  3 years, 10 months ago

I would go Ramsdale because Arsenal still have another two DGWs yet to be announced, and Wolves have no more. He's also has the highest points-per-game out of all keepers.

will have WC, BB and FH left going into GW31

WC can happen any week depends on how my team is doing but likely 32 I think
FH GW33 if needed or if there is a small double in 34
BB GW36 might try to push the wildcard back for this but thats still tbd

Feels like attackers are hard to come by and Adams seems to be the one getting the goals - so probably.
Think I'd want KWP, JWP, Adams if I had three - but there are relatively good value defenders in lieu of KWP.

I agree mate!!! I brought in JWP and Bednarek this gameweek, so annoying that I didn’t how for Walker-Peters tho was literally discussing it all afternoon at work and then when I got home I just went for Bednarek for the price and goal threat from set pieces even tho at work I’d talked myself into getting KWP haha

Alas - my last minute change was Pope > Forster & KWP > Tarkowski to free up cash for better bench.

First go at WC, thoughts good or bad?

    Plenty of DGW28, poss BB29 & good few 30

    Sa, Raya
    KWP, Saiss, Digne, Cancelo, Robbo
    Salah, Son, Rapha, Saka, Ramsey
    Kane, ASM, Broja

Missing Trent can afford if drop down either Saiss or KWP to slightly cheaper option.

Awaiting Chelsea & Leicester games to be added.

That looks good. In my case its having 5 additional DGW players now and most likely 6 or 7 players that plays gw30. WC now also an option but I think WC after 30 and attack teams who have games left to rearrange looks better.

    2. Piggs Boson

Depends if Chelsea get a double. Have 5 atm (+James), plus plan to bring one more in. So 7 max probably.

It's not an enticing DGW tbh, GW29 looks like the one to prioritise.

If Chelsea have a double gameweek in GW28, I'll almost certainly be wildcarding to something like this. Are people fans?

    Sa, Foster
    Trent, Cancelo, Rudiger, James, Coady
    Salah, Mount, Coutinho, Raphinha, Saka
    Dennis, Broja, Hwang

(With 3.8m left in the bank to do Coutinho > Son in GW29)

No wildcard left. Worth bench boosting GW29 if I have all 15 players with good games and don't need to take a hit?

I also have FH if there is ever a big DGW or a small single week.

Sounds reasonable. I was thinking of doing the same in 29 but wondering if I'm better off waiting for 36. How massive a double will that be and which teams are not involved in doubles most likely during it?

I have popped my wildcard, in case Coady goes up but it was the plan all along. 7 changes. Now reads:

    Ramsdale, Foster
    Cancelo, Dias, Trent, Rudiger, Coady
    KDB, Salah, Diaz, Saka, Gordon
    Laca, Broja, the 4.4m guy

Doubt that will be the final version, I feel there should be a Chelsea mid.

      Chelsea mid and Son missing.

Do you think Laca will score more points than Son?

I don't think there is much in it and there are plenty of mids but not many strikers, plus he's cheaper.

I can review it after this weekend.

Maybe Ziyech. I'm a big Pulisic fan but he could injured having his dinner. I like the Gordon pick, getting him too. Bowen still doing well for a steal. Diaz not nailed enough. Sancho might put his hand up. Lacazette's a better footballer than a striker. Not many strikers on form but Dennis, DCL, Weghorst might get you more points.

Bowen, you're right but I have him in auction league and it is close and this is what I end up doing, I hedge. I would like Mount to be fit ideally but the other Chelsea mids seem uncertain.

Just activated WC DGW28. Is anyone BB DGW29? If so should I try to get a few DGW29 players ?

    GW 28 thoughts:

By doing De Gea Ronaldo King to Sa Kane Jimi (-8) I can get:

    Sa*
    TAA Robbo Cancelo Livra*
    Salah Foden Ramsey* Saka
    Kane Jimi*

    Steer Tierney Bowen Scarlett

And Arsenal could also get DGW too
    Skip the WC?

Yes to Sa and Jane. No to Jimenez. Not hitting the heights of previous seasons under a more pragmatic gamelan.

Not many so invest in form mids and defenders. Broja, Weghorst, Dennis, prob offer as many points as Lacca for less. It's a right good team you have.

If I had Dennis instead of King. I would leave him for now. But King...

Can't play FH for 2 GW in a row. Needs interim GW to reset team.

So am I correct in saying that we should know bgw30 before gw28 starts as FA cup is Midweek? Cheers.
