Hello and welcome to the latest update from the FFS UEFA Champions League,where we find out the which teams have managed to go through to the knockout stages.

In Group A, both Nicklearse1983 and Timpgoodwin managed to get one last win to secure their places in the knockout rounds. Unfortunately it was not meant to be for last year’s winner Lucy who struggled to maintain her form from the previous season.
Last year’s finalist HvT had to win both of his last two matches if he wanted any chance of getting through Group B and hope his rivals stumbled. That was exactly what happened. Englands Number 1 was very unfortunate to lose both his matches and that allowed HVT to progress through on total points scored. Sunny also went through by topping the group.
In Group C, Liber cemented his place in the knockout stages by winning the group. He will be joined by Silvinho, who narrowly went through over Chris Waddle due to tie-breakers.
Meanwhile, Group D sees Fantasy Football Scout Moderator Spencer remain at the summit of the table, going undefeated in all the group games. He will be a favourite going into the knockout rounds and we will be watching to see whether he can keep up his fantastic form. Joining him will be Blanket Defence, who narrowly went through on tie-breakers over Zombie. There was only five points in it so it was extremely close!
Over in Group E, Invertebrate had already secured qualification to the next stage from the previous round and picking up that final win means he has won the group. The second qualification place was quite close as Vs10, Jay10 and Kinnear were all in contention. In the end, Kinnear managed to beat both his rivals to secure the position for himself.
Group F was won by Minty as he only picked up one loss in the tournament. He will be joined by Kidzac, who won his last two games to cement qualification.
There was some real heartbreak in Groups G as Samlegend, who was leading the group up until now, lost both his final games and ended up missing out on qualification to the next round. It will be a tough pill for him to swallow for sure. Pongprayoon eventually won the group on tie-breakers with Jayahar Dutta coming in as the runner up.
Lastly, Group G sees Wheato as the peak of the group with only one loss to his name whilst gunner137 fought bravely to secure the last spot into the next round.
So to summarise, the successful teams going through to the next round are:
Winners: Nicklearse1983, Sunny, Liber, Spencer, Invertebrate, Minty, Pongprayoon, Wheato
Runners up: Timpgoodwin, HvT, Silvinho, Blanket Defence, Kinnear, Kidzac, Jayahar Dutta, gunner137
That concludes our round up for today. The draw for the Knockout Stages will be held in the New Year and an article will be published with the results accordingly.
The fixtures will take place in February and will be spread over two legs, as per the usual competition and the team with the highest aggregate score will advance. More details will follow in the next article.
