The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) twitter drip-feed continued this afternoon and following on from the player price revelations of Wednesday and Thursday, we have been given our first glimpse of valuations from Man City, Arsenal and Everton. After a couple of misfires, where our hopes over a certain Argentine were momentarily raised, we received the following information in the end:

Carlos Tevez has been handed a price tag of 9.0 – down dramatically from 12.0 and a valuation that gives Fantasy managers plenty of food for thought ahead of the new season. Having made his peace with Roberto Mancini, the Argentine’s return to the first-team in Gameweek 33 earned City six back-to-back victories as his partnership with Sergio Aguero up top went from strength to strength. Although there’s talk of AC Milan reviving their interest in a bid if the Serie A giants can finalise the transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG, the ideal scenario now for Fantasy managers would be to see Tevez staying put at the Etihad – at that price, he could be a real prospect if he replicate the FPL returns of 2009/10 and 2010/11, where he returned 210 and 185 points respectively. Tevez’s cost looks all the more enticing bearing in mind that Aguero, with 211 points in his debut season, is surely set for a rise from his starting cost of 11.0 in the previous campaign. Clearly, FPL have been far kinder on Tevez than Sky; he comes in at 9.4 in the latter game – the sixth most expensive forward and just 0.5 less than Aguero.

Olivier Giroud is also priced at 9.0, though his appeal is almost certainly dependant on whether Robin Van Persie leaves the Emirates this summer. The Gunners admitted earlier this week that Giroud has been purchased as a direct replacement for their want-away skipper – Van Persie’s departure would afford us the chance to pick up Arsenal’s main forward for a more than reasonable price. If the Dutchman stays, however, Giroud’s starts and subsequent game time will take a turn for the worse; bearing in mind Van Persie is also surely set for a price hike from last year’s starting value of 12.0 after he finished the season with 269 points FPL points, his departure from the Premier League altogether could well be the ideal scenario as we look to balance our budgets. The Frenchman comes in at 8.7 in the Sky game – dearer than Lukas Podolski (8.5) but far behind Van Persie at 10.0.

Finally, Nikica Jelavic comes in at 8.5 for the new season. With little competition for the lone forward role in David Moyes’ preferred 4-5-1, the Croatian looks fairly priced when you consider his level of returns upon arriving at Goodison last January. Jelavic grabbed nine goals and 11 FPL bonus points in just 10 starts since his move from Glasgow Rangers – an average of 5.3 points per game sums up just how quickly he settled. Bearing mind Papiss Cisse was slapped with a 9.5 price tag yesterday, the Everton man looks strong value and providing he can keep injury-free, will find himself in plenty of Fantasy teams if he can maintain anywhere near the same level of performance. Sky have also been kind to the Croatian – he comes in at 8.1, the same as Darren Bent, but less than the likes of Daniel Sturridge (8.5) and Danny Graham (8.4).

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Used to support them a few years ago when Carragher and the likes of Alonso were there 🙂 the Champions League era.

But went off football and try and stay neutral as much as I can now. Nothing better than watching the season from a neutral perspective 😀

Also hearing that Ba may not be the only player from Toon. Ben Arfa, or Tiote??

Dempsey sounding pretty nailed on to be going Liverpool though. Agreement on fee being the delay as usual

to be honest although its shit for the supporters its good for the club. how many teams would like to have an opportunity to wipe the slate clean albeit nobody would want to drop down the leagues. Loads of other clubs are going to go through similar restructuring at some point. Hearts have huge debts as well, dunno how long they can go on without something drastic happening.

One of the biggest problems with Argentina and not succeeding is they have TOO many options, and need a sensible manager to get the right system in place, for Messi to prosper

Pele wouldn't have been as good if he played for Wales would he?

I agree to an extent, but if you gave him 38 games, with other decent players in say MCity or MUtd or Chelsea, then hes gonna be an absolute beast. Its a completely different situation with internationals, as proved by Rooney.

Of course he's better with Xavi and Iniesta - who wouldn't be? But he's still an incredible footballer and would be for any team.

It wasnt just Maradona to be fair, they had some pretty good players and he was the final piece of the jigsaw

I think this is, as always a pointless argument.
You can never say who is a better player.
Different teams, different era's, different types

If Messi continued scoring 70 goals a season for another 5-7 seasons it would be difficult to argue against it
However 2 other paths to that title would be winning the world cup as player of the tournament or winning a major European league with an average-to-decent team at an in fashionable club

                Which would he find hardest?

no you didn't say that, but by insinuation you were making him out to be less of a player because at international level he hadn't won the world cup or copa america. what i was doing was highlighting how silly an argument you used by taking the extremes of giggs and best (both great players in their own right) who were born in countries with a poor international footballing history. As for the best player of all time, thats an argument that is pretty silly in my eyes, there are way too many different variables involved. how can you compare players from 30 - 40 years apart when the game was so different for a multitude of reasons.

Most would say Federer and I tend to agree.

However, I think Rod Laver and Bjørn Borg are right up there. Bjørn Borg was unbeatable in his prime.

And don't forget, Laver has 20 majors alltogether in singles, doubles and mixed. He is also the only player to have won a proper Grand Slam on TWO occasions.

Federer himself also still reckognizes hos idol, Rod Laver, as the greatest to have ever graced the game.

    Reina
    G.Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
    ---Lucas Adam---
    ------Gerrard-----
    Suarez Borini Dempsey

Downing and Bellamy will be rotated with Dempsey and Borini, with Suarez moving to the centre.

The one link shared early showed Henderson in where you have Adam. I rather like that more. Adam might be too long ball minded. Have to wait and see. I like Stevie where he is though. Should be a great value if he stays healthy.

Fabio Borini has taken the number 29 shirt. The number 11,18 and 17 shirt were vacant but the striker opted for the number 29 shirt.

      Penalties at City are:

      1. Balotelli
      2. Aguero
      3. Whoever else because either of the 2 above will probably be on the pitch at the time.

mancini will still have fresh in his mind what tevez is like when he isn't getting gametime but more importantly how much of an impact he made at the end of last season, still think he's an absolute steal at that price.

Don't know much about Borini, but going by these stats... Really impressive!

37 goals in 55 games for Chelsea reserves
    8 in 12 for Swansea
    10 in 26 for Roma

And to add to those, Borini made highest number of successful tackles last season by any attacker in the seria a! Suits Rodgers' pressing game.

8 in 12 , 10 in 26. So if you do the math properly and going by your logic, it would be 12 in 38!

I only watched him when he played for Swansea and he was absolute class. He simply walked into the team and started scoring for fun. He took a few decent free kicks as well. A good signing and good FPL option IMO.
