We’ve already brought you the statistical summary of Saturday’s Gameweek 6 action but we now turn our attention to the wider Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points from the day’s fixtures.

With there being a bumper crop of eight matches taking place yesterday, our Scout Notes articles are split into two as we first focus on the matches at Stamford Bridge, the City Ground, St James’ Park and Molineux.

The numbers you see in this article are from our Premium Members area, where you can access Opta player and team data for every single Premier League fixture.

CHELSEA 2-1 WEST HAM UNITED

Owners of Marc Cucurella (£5.2m) may be sitting nervously after the Spaniard’s positional rival replaced him midway through the second half of Saturday’s match against West Ham and grabbed two attacking returns.

Ben Chilwell (£5.8m) scored from a narrow angle to draw Chelsea level after Michail Antonio‘s (£7.2m) scrappy, deadlock-breaking tap-in, with the left wing-back then teeing up substitute Kai Havertz (£7.7m) for the winner.

Chilwell ended up with a double-digit haul from an 18-minute appearance; his last Premier League seven starts, incidentally, have seen him plunder three goals and two assists.

Thomas Tuchel’s post-match comments did suggest that Chilwell has more work to do on the fitness front, however:

“I think he has the full fitness you can have from training and pre-season matches. Of course you can also feel fitter and be fitter with consecutive matches in the Premier League.

“In my opinion, he lacks the rhythm and he lacks a good feeling for the game. This is what I see in training. The player always thinks he’s ready, I think there are still a few things missing.

“He started for us at Everton, he came on against Southampton, he came on today and had a huge impact. This is what we want from him. The wing-back position is his best position in my opinion. He gives a lot of energy, runs and deliveries. So I’m very happy because these things happen like nothing else.”

“Much more important than any training or talk with me is that he feels it and he experiences being back on the pitch and being decisive.” – Thomas Tuchel on Ben Chilwell

This was a fifth straight match without a clean sheet for the Blues, with Cucurella and Reece James (£6.0m) compounding their blanks with yellow cards. Two more cautions for James before Chelsea’s 19th fixture will result in him getting a one-match ban.

Chelsea are worryingly second-bottom for big chances conceded over their last five fixtures, and the form of Edouard Mendy (£5.0m) is not inspiring confidence either: he flapped for West Ham’s opener and then was fortunate to have his blushes spared by VAR after Maxwel Cornet (£5.9m) tucked in what we thought was a late leveller.

Mendy will now be assessed for a shoulder injury allegedly picked up in that disallowed goal, although the phrase ‘milking it’ did come to mind on first glance.

“He was in a lot of pain, we have to see, it’s too early to comment on it.

“I think he’s at the moment a bit unlucky. In training he’s fantastic, he’s in general a very calm, very self-reflective guy who is aware that he lacks a little bit of luck at the moment. Things do no go in his favour. He has situations where if it’s not 100 per cent clear because of his actions he gets punished massively.

“He’s just in this moment, it feels like it’s not so much his fault. I have a feeling that he tries everything, he’s very focused and we will keep on supporting him.” – Thomas Tuchel on Edouard Mendy

Further forward, Mason Mount‘s (£7.7m) stock plummets further as he was named only among the substitutes.

Opponents West Ham have been much better in Gameweeks 4-6 than the three games before that, and barely gave Chelsea a sniff for much of this match.

They sit third-top of our Season Ticker for fixture difficulty between now and the World Cup, although the Thursday-Sunday fixture run due to Europa Conference League involvement is a deterrent.

Chelsea XI: Mendy; Fofana, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly; James, Loftus-Cheek (Jorginho 83), Kovacic (Havertz 72), Cucurella (Chilwell 72); Gallagher (Broja 60); Pulisic (Mount 60), Sterling

West Ham United XI: Fabianski; Coufal, Kehrer, Zouma, Emerson; Soucek, Rice, Bowen, Paqueta (Ogbonna 83), Fornals (Cornet 86); Antonio (Benrahma 74)

NOTTINGHAM FOREST 2-3 BOURNEMOUTH

If Nottingham Forest can get their defence sorted out, then Neco Williams (£4.1m) will be a heck of a Fantasy asset.

Top among FPL defenders for shots and joint-third for chances created in 2022/23, the budget buy got his first attacking return of the season when winning the penalty that Brennan Johnson (£5.9m) converted. Any dreams of a Lundstram-sized haul were dashed, however, when Bournemouth came back from 2-0 down to not just spoil a Forest clean sheet but also claim all three points.

A tricky start to the season is mitigation for the fact that Forest have allowed more shots than any other team but to concede three goals against the side with the worst expected goals (xG) total in the division is more of a concern.

The Cherries did admittedly score three times from an xG of just 0.78: Philip Billing‘s (£5.3m) long-distance strike would fly into row Z on a normal day and Dominic Solanke‘s (£5.7m) equaliser was crucially deflected, while the only ‘big chance’ that Forest conceded came when Scott McKenna‘s (£4.5m) error was punished by match-winner Jaidon Anthony (£5.3m).

Cooper at least has plenty of alternative options at the rear after his summer spending spree, so it may take a little time for the Forest boss to settle on a first-choice backline.

“The first goal, we didn’t defend well enough before the ball went in the net. That has then set the tone for the second half, and we’ve not managed that very well.

“The second goal was from a set-piece. We should do better, but we were slightly unfortunate that Yatesy was off the pitch because he had a knock on his head before it.

“Then there was a mistake from Scott for the third goal. That’s the first time he’s put a foot wrong since I’ve been here.

“But let’s not hide away from the fact that we’ve thrown away a win. We’ve not done it in a very good way. We’ve conceded three goals at home, and there’s nothing good about that.” – Steve Cooper

Two more notes on Forest: Johnson is, as he was last season whenever the now-departed Lewis Grabban was absent, on spot-kicks, while Morgan Gibbs-White (£5.5m) has wrestled set-piece duties away from Williams. It was from Gibbs-White’s corner that Cheikhou Kouyate (£4.5m) nodded in the game’s first goal.

Despite the manager exit and league-worst goal difference, Bournemouth somehow have seven points and are now top of our Season Ticker from now until the World Cup.

Temporary head coach Gary O’Neil has got a tune out of the same set of players that Scott Parker was dismissive about but we’ll see if the fabled ‘new (caretaker) manager bounce’ lasts.

Solanke’s an attractive proposition as one of the cheapest starting FPL forwards in the game but the form and fixtures of Ivan Toney (£7.1m) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.8m), and the more attacking mindset of the teams they play for, makes the Cherries striker a harder sell, even at the lower price. Solanke’s goal, for example, came from his only shot of the game.

Nottingham Forest XI: Henderson, Worrall, S. Cook, McKenna, Williams, Yates, Kouyate (Colback, 76), Lodi, Gibbs-White, Lingard (Awoniyi, 67), Johnson (Dennis, 85).

AFC Bournemouth XI: Neto, Smith, Mepham, Kelly, Zemura (Fredericks, 45), L. Cook, Lerma, Christie (Anthony, 85), Billing (Moore, 90), Tavernier, Solanke (Stacey, 90).

NEWCASTLE UNITED 0-0 CRYSTAL PALACE

“43 shots and no goals” was how Sky Sports labelled their video package of this game – and Nick Pope (£5.1m) was the main beneficiary of that profligacy.

Nine saves and maximum bonus points saw him rise to the top of the FPL goalkeeper standings, while Kieran Trippier (£5.2m) climbed to second in the defenders’ list. The right-back’s total of six chances created against Palace was the highest of Gameweek 6 so far and also helped him claim two bonus points to go with his clean sheet.

Eddie Howe’s side are now on a remarkable run of six clean sheets in their last 10 home fixtures.

Despite Pope’s nine saves, Palace didn’t register a single Opta-defined ‘big chance’; Newcastle had five.

It was a frustrating afternoon for the Magpies as Miguel Almiron (£5.0m) hit the woodwork, Joe Willock (£4.9m) saw a goal harshly chalked off by the VAR and new signing Alexander Isak (£7.0m) wasted a glorious one-on-one opportunity. Having twice found the net expertly at Anfield (one was disallowed due to offside), perhaps it was over-confidence that led him to attempt a dinked finish – but self-assurance isn’t a bad quality in a striker.

“He will be disappointed to miss that because I think he would back himself to score and I’d certainly back him to score but he’s gone for a certain type of finish but he didn’t quite execute it right.

“I thought we starved him of with the ball a little bit and I desperately wanted him to try and get on the ball more, especially in the attacking third.

“It’s just that he’s had no training time with us. So he’s been thrust right into action and I think he’s done very well but there’s a lot of improvement for us as a team to try and serve him.” – Eddie Howe on Alexander Isak

Both of these sides have favourable fixture runs coming up, with Newcastle’s schedule from Gameweek 8-13 appealing and Palace enjoying a much easier stretch from Gameweeks 10-18.

The Eagles are actually rock-bottom for big chances conceded so far in 2022/23 but given that they’ve faced Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City already, some context is needed.

Newcastle United XI: Pope, Trippier, Targett (Burn 79), Botman, Schar, Joelinton, S.Longstaff, Willock, Fraser (Anderson 70), Almiron (J.Murphy 70), Isak (Wood 90+2)

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Ward, Andersen, Guehl, Mitchell (Clyne 63), Schlupp, Doucoure, Eze (Olise 63), J.Ayew, Zaha, Mateta (Edouard 63)

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 1-0 SOUTHAMPTON

The joint-lowest scorers in the division ground out a 1-0 victory on Saturday and it was fitting for a team that can’t finish for toffee that their winning strike was a mishit effort that bobbled apologetically over the line.

Daniel Podence (£5.5m) was the goalscorer, with one of just seven shots his side had all afternoon. Podence has scored two of Wolves’ three strikes in 2022/23.

Pre-season bandwagon Pedro Neto (£5.2m) blanked for the sixth straight match and with Liverpool and Manchester City up next, the exodus will continue ahead of Gameweek 6.

Wolves tried to remedy their goalscoring woes with the capture of Sasa Kalajdzic (£5.5m) in the transfer window and he’s a budget forward to monitor in the medium term, as he was thrown straight into the starting XI here at the expense of Raul Jimenez (£6.9m).

Kalajdzic duly picked up a knee injury in the first half, while Jimenez pulled out of bency duty because of “chronic fatigue”.

“It’s nothing special. What is important is that he played 45 minutes at a good level.” – Bruno Lage on Sasa Kalajdzic’s injury

The opening six Gameweeks have been better from a defensive perspective, with only Brighton – who have played a game less – conceding fewer goals than Wolves (four). Nathan Collins (£4.5m) and Max Kilman (£4.5m) are now fourth and joint-fifth respectively for FPL points among defenders but the fixtures have been favourable and the real work starts now.

Saints have been much improved since their change to a back four midweek through Gameweek 2 and could have easily had a point here. Che Adams (£6.4m) nodded against the bar and somehow contrived to cock up an even better chance when his mistimed jump resulted in him handling, rather than heading, into an open goal.

“It (the defeat) shouldn’t happen, but we have to accept it, although it’s hard to take. I think we showed for the whole game how resilient we are and how good we can play; created chances, and in the end missed only the goal. That was the only thing that was missing today.” – Ralph Hasenhuttl

Wolves XI: Sa, Jonny, Collins, Kilman, Ait-Nouri, Neves, Moutinho, Nunes, Neto (Traore 81), Podence (Hwang 82), Kalajdzic (Guedes 46).

Southampton XI: Bazunu, Walker-Peters, Salisu, Bella-Kotchap, Perraud (Edozie 73), Elyounoussi (S. Armstrong 56), Aribo (Maitland-Niles 73), Ward-Prowse, Diallo (Djenepo 56), Adams, A. Armstrong (Mara 83).

Toney was lucky with 2/3 goals yesterday in my opinion and even the non-lucky one he won't score freekicks each week. FPL troll in my opinion & Mitro just looks like mustard right now.

Harsh! The 3rd was brilliant too. I've definitely been underestimating him. That said, you've missed most of his best fixtures now & I'd still prefer Mitrovic

I mean, I didn't think the penalty was a penalty, but ultimately, he's on pens, so that comes and goes. The second one, he won't score freekicks like that every week (I really get aggravated by 'keepers on freekicks, for penalties they stand in the middle of the goal, someone takes a shot from further out and they don't stand in the middle of the goal - which is fair, if you trust your wall - 'keeper didn't and moved behind his wall which meant he conceded). Third, final defender should've been on the line well before Toney even thought about the chip, shouldn't have had the time or space to chip either, should've forced him to rush the shot / smash it. I get what you mean though it was a good goal, composed and cool under some pressure. He's just always trolled me.

To be fair, Mitro's GW9-14 look lovely. Shame I used my WC in like GW3/4

How many players does everyone have left?

Four for me - Sanchez, Groß, Martinelli and Jesus. Probably typical on here.

    2 FT:

    Raya
    TAA | Robertson | Cancelo | Perisic | Saliba
    Salah | Martinelli
    Haaland | Jesus | Toney

    Ward | Andreas | Dasilva | Reed

    Thinking:
    Robertson & Reed > Tripper & Sinesterra

Also tempted by Salah > KDB for a -4 but I may give Salah 1 more week. Thoughts? Other suggestions?

      Brentford 5 - 2 Leeds

      - Toney first pen was never a penalty, Sinnestera wins and touches the ball.
      - Toney second goal, lovely
      - Sinnestera goal, great touch, Raya should save
      - Toney third goal, won't get hattricks like this all week. Unsure why final defender isn't on the line to stop this?
      - Leeds robbed of a penalty, if not a freekick. Marsch red card is a joke (makes me laugh how many managers get a red for that but players seemingly say much worse)
      - Bamford misses sitter of the year?! Great defending from him
      - Awful defending from Brentford for Leeds 2nd
      - That flick on from Koch was even better than Bamford's clearance...
      - Llorente, lost his head clearly, what am I watching, are we sure this is the PL?

      Possession;
      Brentford 31% - 69% Leeds

the problem I have is I disagree with the first line. I think it's a penalty.

So I did not get beyond it either time.

Not a pen for me, was a 50/50 ball there to be won. Sinesterra got the ball first before tripping Toney, in no way does that make it a pen imo.

              Great post.
If I may say, the point that Toney is both on set pieces and penalties is a + for me.
Even if this penalty wasn't deserving, it doesn't matter that much. Also I think he is a good penalty taker. Mitro on the other hand tends to miss penalties from time to time, aldough I believe he is able to deliver more frequently and to be fixture proof.

            he slices through him.

I take your point in the 1970s that's not a penalty but nowadays all day long.

If you've watched/seen the games, the comments aren't necessarily for you as you will have formulated your own opinions, but I figured this might help one or two (plus I can look back at these notes myself when I go to make my changes on Friday).

In regards to the penalty, that's what I love about the game, these are the decisions that really are 50/50. I think he touches (and subsequently wins) the ball.

      Forest 2 - 3 Bournemouth

      - Forest first goal, corner was on the money. Good header too
      - Forest penalty, was not a penalty, the first ever monitor review decision where a ref hasn't changed his mind and he bottles it and gets it wrong. Lucky Neco assist. (Keeper nearly saves)
      - Wow. What a goal for BOU. Shot. Henderwho?
      - Solanke shot off the shin and deflected in. Unlucky FOR
      - BOU third goal is exactly why Neco & co are 4M defenders

      Chelsea 2 - 1 West Ham

      - 45 minutes, not a shot on target.
      - Mendy flaps at knock on from corner as two of his own players get in the way. Rice squares inside the 6 yard box for Antonio tap in
      - Chilwell goal. Wow. Just how. Poor from Fabianski
      - Cornet heads onto post, should be buried
      - Good cross from Chilwell, first thought was awful ball in, replays show was lovely. Good finish Havertz
      - Sources say Mendy has been nominated for an Oscar. Absolutely disgraceful, retrospective action for simulation should be brought in

      Chelsea 69% - 31% West Ham

      Tottenham 2 - 1 Fulham

      - Richarlison good opportunity off a Son cross
      - Son goal disallowed as Kane attempts to play ball in offside position
      - Kane beautifully tees up Son, who should do better (hits crossbar)
      - Hojberg goal is his second of the season, matching last seasons tally - don't get excited (Richar assist)
      - Richar swings beautifully at the air from Royal cross missing big opportunity from 12 yards out
      - Kane goal is from a messy bit of defending from Fulham, if wasn't scored could arguably see a penalty given from handball
      - Kulu replaces Kane, leaving Richar down the middle and Son on the left, Kulu on the right
      - Richar hits post from 16 yards out
      - Side note, Willian is at Fulham now?! lol! I missed that transfer
      - What a goal from Mitrovic. Geezer just doesn't care who he's against
      - Mitrovic close to second (big deflection loops shot instead of power shot) at top corner
      - Sess great assist to Richar who stupidly gets booked for shirt removal (doorhandle) but it's offside (double doorhandle)

      Aston Villa 1 - 1 Man City

      - Douglas Luiz with a pass to Watkins that most people would cream over if it was Ozil back in the day or KDB nowadays (literally rolls it between Stones & Dias and under Stones' feet as he runs). Ensuing corner, great delivery which nearly led to AVL goal
      - KDB with a gorgeous cross for Haaland to score at the back post (watched this game live, think I read a stat that said something like Haaland is scoring a goal per FIVE touches)
      - Rodri easily dispossessed, Ramsey wastes HUGE opportunity with poor touch (would've been Watkins assist)
      - Haaland wins FK that KDB smashes off the bar from 21 yards out
      - Rodri, Walker & Mahrez all half tracking Ramsey's cross that Bailey smashes home from 14 yards out. Ederson doesn't stand a chance unless he guesses he's gonna shoot there. Poor defending IMO (especially from Rodri & Walker).
      - Douglas Luiz with ANOTHER superb pass. Right wing, half-way line, outside of the his LEFT boot, curls it round Cancelo, past Dias, forces Stones over to cover Watkins (leads to next point)
      - Watkins takes to long to square pass to Ramsey (good back-tracking by Mahrez), Ramsey would've been left with a free shot from 18 yards otherwise - good of him to get into a position (leads to next point)
      - Ball continues to roll to Coutinho. Lino flags, Ref blows up, Coutinho puts the ball in the back of the net. NOW IMPORTANT; YES Coutinho scored, NO he was NOT offside. We all know this. Yes the lino shouldn't have flagged yadayadayada, awful officiating. HOWEVER; once ref blows, Mahrez stops tracking Coutinho (could've easily blocked the shot) and Ederson half-a**e swipes at it as it comes at him, I genuinely don't believe that's scored even if offside wasn't given.
      - - PLEASE ALSO NOTE, that whilst we're all giving the lino a hard time for calling that offside, I genuinely believe he's flagging not for when Watkins' pass is played but when the ball rolls under Ramsey/Mahrez, from his POV (Watkins in line of sight) it may have looked like Ramsey has played the ball (at which point Coutinho IS in an offside position - however neither Mahrez nor Ramsey play the ball).
      - Rodri selfish 22-23 yard strike when could've played a forward in
      - This is match of the day notes, but pretty sure KDB and Haaland could've had one or two more / come close but that was 12 hours ago now and it's been a busy night!

      Possession;

      Wolves 1 - 0 Southampton

      - Matheus has the ball on counter attack, it's FIVE v THREE in favour of Wolves. AWFUL pass to Neto (due to poor touch) delays Neto getting close who doesn't even manage a shot on target. Since Jimenez accident Wolves just don't seem to be able to source a goal scorer.
      - Good defending from Wolves stops cutback being tapped in from four yards out
      - LOVELY cross from right side (Matheus) to Podence @ near far post. AWFUL shot. Lucky goal.(Basically reaching for the ball, kinda traps it between his foot and the floor, pops up and slightly dinks the 'keeper)
      - Poor touch from Aribo, lands at JWP feet, plays Aribo back in, who crosses. Che Adams tries his best impersination of Diego*. No goal for cheating.
      - Stuart Armstrong crosses from left to Che Adams, climbs well, decent contact with header, hits crossbar.

*Maradona in case you didn't get the joke.

      Everton 0 - 0 Liverpool

      - Nunez straight back in, Bobby benched. Tsimi starts, Robbo benched (sign of things to come because of CL, we've already seen some resting of him - coming off early)
      - Scrappy defending from Liverpool leads to Davies outside of the boot shot (~10 yards) to rattle the post (would've been Maupay "assist"). Comes from inital cross from Patterson cleared before he wins it off of Carvalho and puts in another cross
      - Gomez lovely ball over the top to Nunez who brings down well and strikes it only for Pickford to make a superb save and tip it onto the crossbar, ball stays in play and Diaz comes back inside to shake the woodwork by smashing it against the post (no touches between Nunez shot and Diaz shot - would've been Nunez assist)
      - Formation change for Liverpool as Bobby comes on for Carvalho (4-2-3-1 now instead of 4-3-3 - half time change)
      - Nunez shot in box blocked by Patterson
      - Elliot and Tsimikas passing from one side of Everton's box to the other to each other, (nobody gets on the end of Elliots pass, Tsimi's was just awful).
      - Trent TROLLolololol subbed at 59' by Klopp to ensure he misses additional points from playing 60 and the clean sheet
      - Robertson subbed on for Tsimi (59' also) for a wonderfuloololol 1 point cameo & no CS for Tsimikas
      - Bobby draws big save from Pickford after Nunez tee's him up
      - Robertson on corners, beautiful cross, straight on Bobby's noggin' only to be saved by Pickford.
      - Messy pinball from short-corner inside Everton's box means Pickford makes another save from Fabinho (would've been Nunez assist)
      - Everton counter through corner, FIVE on THREE, Gray skips past Milner, squares past Gordon and Maupay (lol) kicks it into Allison's chest rather than anywhere else from 8 yards
      - Gray cross, finds Maupay at the far post, who somehow, amazingly puts it WIDE from a yard outside of the 6 yard box (to the left of the goal) but about 3 yards from the by-line so Coady toe pokes it home, the crowd goes wild only for VAR to ruin the day by calling it offside (correctly)
      - VVD somehow escapes red card? Raised studs into ankle/shin of Onana
      - Jota on for Nunez (80') McNeil on for Gordon (82')
      - Patternson finds McNeil, who 1-2's with Maupay (because of a bad touch), McNeil shoots from 17 yards, DOUBLE ricochet going top corner before Allison makes top drawer save
      - Salah lovely outside of the boot pass, Bobby latches onto the end of it (completely unmarked from 13 yards) causing Pickford to save again
      - Robertson steams forward (90'+5'), finds Diaz edge of the box, LOVELY turn, rather than shoot (weak foot?), finds Salah coming in from right, SHOOTS... fingertips by Pickford, POST... REBOUND, blocked.

      Possession;
      Everton 39% - 61% Liverpool

      Newcastle 0 - 0 Crystal Palace

      - Isak blocks attempted pass from Anderson (inside NEW half) 1-on-1 with 'Keeper, tries to dink him, doesn't come off. Should score
      - Doucoure shot controlled by his own teammate Mateta, who turns and shoots from 12 yards, big save from Pope
      - Trippier even taking freekicks from halfway line, leads to corner as gets a little messy in the box
      - ^^ This corner, I thought I was at the arcade playing pinball, how has that not gone in. Corner by Targett headed towards goal by Longstaff, save from Guaita falls in front of him, 4 yards out, Joelinton stretches but Doucoure blocks/swipes it off the line, Joelinton has another stab, falls to Botman, blocked again.
      - Freekick from left flank, whipped in by Targett, great cross. Pings everywhere until Almiron hits the post
      - Freekick from right flank, lofted in by Trippier, makes it to Botman at the far post, big save by Guaita at his near post
      - Guehi falls on the ball (obstruction?) Isak kicks it out from between his legs, freekick given to Newcastle, Trippier in again, Botman heads back across goal from far post, Guaita dives for the ball as does Willock who CLATTERS into Guaita, ball missing both of them, bouncing off the poor unsuspecting Mitchell for an own goal. Ruled out by VAR (foul on 'keeper) NOTES: Mitchell pushes Willock in the back who clatters into Guaita by the way. Referee made correct decision on-field, VAR suggests checking the monitor, changes his decision. Should've been a Newcastle goal.
      - Palace attack, Eduoard receives ball from Ayew edge of box, seemingly shrugs off two, drops shoulder on third, fires shot away, Pope big save with his leg
      - Isak doesn't see run of Murphy, easy through ball would probably leave him 1-on-1 with 'keeper, but finds Willock on the edge of the box (centre) and Guaita saves AGAIN
      - Trippier takes left corner this time? (In-swinging)... Met by Botman, finds Willock who shoots wide (big slice)

      Attempts;
      Newcastle 23 - 19 Crystal Palace

    Tuchel on Chilwell

"The wing-back position is his best position in my opinion."

    Goes with his previous comments

“I would say if we play a back four they are competing for the same place.

"If we play a back five, not 100%.

“Ben is a clear wing-back and Marc is both. He can play in the back three and as a wing-back.”

So, when will Cucu move to LCB is the question as Tuchel looks like sticking to 5 ATB.

I’d probably just get Fofana for the sheer hell of getting a Chelsea starting defender for £4.4m. In all seriousness, though, they look pretty mediocre defensively, like pretty much nearly every premium defence has this season.

I know I was trolling with the CHE triple up. However, if they sort themselves out James, Fofana, Chilwell could be dangerous paired with Trippier and Cancelo.

Considering how "fund friendly" this season is for now, I can see my self affording Chillwel and James to play with a decent bench to step in in case of rotation.
That being said, 5.8 (for now) is quite a bit for a defender that doesn't start regularly and for the team that won't seem to be getting clean sheets. But he is a fpl target for his offensive potential.

Pep does not always deploy him this way.

Against team like Forest he had plenty of space to run into with Alvarez on the pitch.

I watched the last 25 mins of the game last night and Haaland could have had 2 assists to KDB and another 2-3 goals, give it a rest. Pick which side you're on, if you say your past comments about Haaland were right (which you conveniently deny ever saying when he scores) then drop him from your team and put your money where your mouth is, simple.

Not sure I'd say Neco will be a great fantasy asset "if Nottingham Forest can get their defence sorted out". The number of shots and chances they concede is a consequence of how they play. Yes players like Neco have good attacking potential, but they do in the same way Max Aarons or Todd Cantwell did, they like to be on the ball and put numbers forward when they attack but always leave gaps at the back giving chances to every team, and Cooper is going to do it against pretty much every team so they'll keep conceding unless he wants to change the entire way they play, much like Norwich. The 8 shots they conceded yesterday was by far the lowest they've conceded in a game, but before that the lowest was against City and Spurs and was still 17 and 18 respectively and they conceded 8 between those 2 games.

I think this is a better move. Much better options available for a 5.5 defender than Wissa

      Harrison is a reasonable shout

        Still not convinced by Harrison

Willock is going under the radar. Could be a good option.

Similar to Dasilva at the start of season. He wasn't a genuinely good FPL option either

Yeh true - It’s a replacement for da silva . I could stretch to 6.1 but again not convinced by 6.0 mids either?

He can't keep that up. You need to look at the game state when he came on and scored

Haven't taken a hit all season, but tempted to move Perisic & Greenwood to Neco Williams & Mitrovic for -4?

    Yes or no

If you're close to wildcarding I wouldn't take any hits as these are just short term moves.

      I wouldn't do that move for a -4 myself

Probably delay the Mitro move to GW8

it's fine to hold but Mitro likely to rise further and Perisic to drop.

        I've got 0.3 leeway.

      I think so. Yes.

Also first hit for my team, upgrading Greenwood to Mitrovic.

With Perisic to Patterson later this week.

Whisper it quietly but Mendy has been awful for a year and nobody bats an eye. Meanwhile, everybody was so happy to s**t on Kepa whenever he made a single mistake. He should be dropped a long time ago.

Kepa was atrocious though. Mendy just bad. Time to goooo!

Chelsea have a problem, both their GK's are inept.

Four of the best keepers in the league are English - Pope, Ramsdale, Henderson and Pickford. Not as good as the Brazilians of course, but it’s nice to see.

I'm stuck in a limbo of being scared to get rid of TAA but I could easily see him having another underwhelming next 5-6 gameweeks

I got rid this week, obviously lucky with the way things went but Everton came close to scoring a few times. Have no confidence in Liverpool defence and TAA in particular has been poor. That run of 4 games after Wolves just isn't worth the hassle

What more does Chilwell have to do gain fitness, he's had gametime! Doesn't look like Tuchel favours him, Cucu seems his preferred option imo.
