With six Gameweeks’ worth of Premier League player and team data now available, it’s time to bring Big Numbers back for the 2022/23 season.

For the uninitiated, this article series looks at the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) statistics ahead of the upcoming Gameweek.

These cherry-picked Opta stats can all be found in our Premium Members’ Area.

Only subscribers can read the full article; those wishing to sign up to our site and continue reading, as well as see a list of the benefits that Membership brings, can do so by clicking here.

Xhaka and Moura recalled as Ramsdale starts again

-3.50 expected goals prevented (xGP) by Danny Ward (£4.0m) this season. In layman’s terms, the Leicester City goalkeeper has conceded on 16 occasions when Opta’s ‘expected’ data reckons he should only have shipped 12.5 goals. That makes him the biggest underperformer of current starting Premier League goalkeepers, while no present number one has a worse save percentage (53.3%).

+2.60 is, by contrast, Jordan Pickford‘s (£4.5m) xGP in the first six Gameweeks, which is the best among FPL goalkeepers this season. He has been in fine form for the Toffees but he’ll be absent with a thigh injury in Gameweek 8, which could be a boost to the Fantasy prospects of West Ham attackers.

14 of Aaron Ramsdale‘s (£4.9m) last 16 Premier League starts have seen the Arsenal goalkeeper finish the match without a clean sheet. His xGP in that time is a poor -5.50, while his save percentage is down at a miserable 57.7%.

0.8 points per match averaged by Lucas Digne (£4.7m) this season, the joint-lowest mean of any ever-present starter in 2022/23 to date.

16 penalty box touches registered by Diogo Dalot (£4.5m) in the first six Gameweeks of the season, a total that no other FPL defender can better. Dalot’s rate of penalty area touches per 90 minutes has more than doubled compared to 2021/22, while he is also currently third for chances created (10) among players in his Fantasy position.

GW 7 isn't necessarily an issue. GW 8 would be a write off as that would be the funeral

When it was a Diana's funeral, most/all games moved from the Saturday to the Sunday iirc.

Prince William is the president of the FA, so I imagine they will call this weekend off out of respect for him.

There are lots of reasons why, you don't have to agree or disagree with the idea of sport and events being paused but the question is if it'll happen or not and I'd say it's quite likely

That's not really how it works though. A period of mourning is either announced or not and is in place for the country. Of course you don't have to do anything specific for it as a citizen but that doesn't mean that everything you're normally able to do will be viable depending on what other organisations or bodies decide

Something that certainly entered my head. Logistically you'd think they'd have to carry on but considering the popularity (at least in terms of nationwide and media interest) of the monarchy, I wouldn't be completely surprised if things were stopped on the spot

the offical mourning period could be 5 days up to a state funeral but not everything would stop.

of course on the day itself.

I completely understand why Chelsea went for Potter, I just find it really annoying that they "couldn't" find a suitable coach outside of the Premier League. And just like that, they destroyed a beautiful story in the making. I genuinely feel so bad for BHA and their fans.

If the Queen has passed today I believe the news will be shared at 6pm.

The BBC website has gone black which could be a sign the Queen has passed.

The website has certainly not turned black. BBC getting over excited about "crowds gathering" outside Buckingham Palace as if they don't on every single day of the week

Think people need to stop trying to rush her to her death. The Dutchess of Cambridge isn't even planning on going to Balmoral yet, but may at "a later date"

So if the GW is postponed and we start off directly with GW 8 and with both my Brighton players out after having already used one of my 2 free transfers.. il be rather annoyed.

The one time i make an early transfer(since i had 2 and my players survived Tuesday night). Tuchel gets sacked.. Brighton gets a game postponed.. and a whole GW is at risk . Lol

I'm guessing they would still have the GW7 deadline whether there are matches or not and then you get a FT for GW8.

If funeral is next weekend, GW8 could be cancelled too.

Might bring in Trossard ahead of Sinisterra as he has more chance of playing his game before the Queen dies is not a thought I ever expected to have and yet here we are.

Based on the lockdown GWs where there were GWs with no fixtures, yes - imagine that would happen.

If games are cancelled the funeral would be next weekend so week 8 would also be cancelled
