Like Roy Keane said, the teams who have won titles in recent years have this winning mentality and they find a way to win when they maybe haven't reached a good level of performance

It is an excellent point. England have to develop that "knack of winning" when the margins are so close against top level opposition.

Not a very sophisticated way of putting it, but it is intangible

and we'd still find a way to lose.

We get a crack at this every two years. We no longer lose the plot like we did circa 08-16, but we're still a way off. Even if we are subjected to bad luck, we're still not doing all we need to do to kick-on

be humble and learn from (Western) Europe.

British Isles football, as a whole, still favours physicality, which explains why Scotland have been dismal for the last twenty years and Wales were no where near good enough for this standard (a rugby loving 3m nation means they've still done excellent to get hear)

The Irish nations also have the same afflictions

We must learn to retain the ball better and beyond that develop a cutting edge and creativity

I disagree. Any team with youngsters like Saka, Bellingham and Foden has huge chance to win something big before they retire.

                      Not a problem, BP

However, I can assure you those aforementioned players are very talented, but England have always had relative talent... just not enough to compete for the major trophies consistently

France looked a lot more threatening, but that is subjective

We beat Tunisia, Panama, Columbia on pens (without James) and Sweden to get to a semi. When we reached that point, we still came up short

The Euros were de facto held in England. A toothless Germany, Ukraine, Denmark and still came up short despite leading v Italy

and here we are again. A great opportunity and we've come up short

ESPN pundits were saying National Coach is a lousy job compared to coaching a top club team. Always traveling to watch games gets old quick. They are always working & making appearances but cant really have the effect on players like a top club coach can. They do get paid well though.

      Midfielder.

Keeper has only 1 replacement. Mid has 12.

Midfielder choice not great now- probably keeper and have 2 shots at 6 points as you can get best mids in your 11 anyway

yeah I agree, I can also wait to see how my first keepr does and may not even need to make that sub anyway, cheers!

    A - take a -9 to get 11 out for the semi-finals?
    B - take a -21 for a full squad again?
C - cry like Ronaldo, give up the ghost completely and move to Saudi?

Same position here! I think I will go for 11 and if any don’t start take additional hits. As 3rd /4th play off game counts mean can probably use final MD to get full squad
