Just watched Brentford’s 0-0 with Lille. Mbeumo got what I presume was a dead leg. Played on for a good 10 minutes before being subbed. Hopefully he’ll be fine.
Brentford played two friendlies against Liile today but Henry wasn’t involved in either.
Flekken looked much better (would have got 7 points plus bonus). His distribution is almost as good as Raya’s.
Wissa had no chances but looked sharp when on the ball and I think Lewis-Potter has done enough to be ahead of Schade on the left if they go 4-3-3 against Spurs.

He won’t play for Brentford again. They’ve just got to get as much money as possible for him. Arsenal will have unsettled Ramsdale just by making a bid so they’ll probably up their offer.

No word on Henry? He's my 4.5 defender of choice. Can just switch to Pinnock but is the defence significantly weakened without Henry?

An ‘in the know’ online said there was nothing to worry about but that might be referring to him not being sold rather than an injury. His absence would mean Hickey switching to his natural side and Roeslev playing right back. It would weaken the defence a fair bit. Even if Henry is fit I’d still go with Pinnock. Henry’s final ball is poor and Pinnock has a better chance of attacking returns.

Flekken distribution was excellent I agree.
KLP is first team, but his finishing needs to improve quickly. Could be a differential in a Go Salah squad.

I’ll start with him in a 343 in gw1, unless he doesn’t start in the CL. Riding his points until he gets dropped. There’s always a 5.5 fwd safety net with Morris and if Joao Pedro gets the nod upfront, you got an extra option.

I have spread the cash instead of any Liverpool a BB gw1 team - plenty of ways to play the game. All the Salah chat is just pure fear. Instead the question should be does your combination of players no Salah allows mean more chances of points overall.
The points advantage of a strong overall team might not be obvious at first, but spread over many gameweeks.

Very likely. When Wilson goes on a scoring run he's difficult to ignore.

With Barnes coming in/Gordan improving i don't see how either can be worth it unless there's an injury/change of set up (352 maybe, a reason for Livro signing idk)

    Thoughts?

    Pickford/4.5
    Chillwell Gabriel Estu
    Saka Martinelli Rashford Bruno Foden
    Haaland Watkins

    Fodder bench

Solid, but maybe upgrade Pickford to Onana....maybe change Foden to Diaby as he is almost like a second striker, and could also have Jackson/nkunku instead of Watkins...that way you have a villa cover, onana upgrade, and 1.5 in the back to upgrade at least your first sub...

Could just do Pickford/Watkins > Onana/Jackson, leaves 0.5 spare too?

Foden a better pick than Diaby/any of the 6.5s surely?

Grand - why not Pickford and Virginia? Saving you a .5 for elsewhere if needs be

Probably would do that if I end up going Pickford

Sorry I meant Pickford or another 4.5, sub GK would be a 4.0

If you had to pick one:

    1. Johnstone
    2. Leno

      Johnstone...better defense

Johnstone, Palhinha is struggling with an injury right now; if you want Leno make sure he's almost match ready at least by Everton

      Johnstone
By the way if you wanted the ultimate keeper rotation it is Martinez and Johnstone (expensive combo though)

Hope everyone's draft is taking shape well...I am currently on the draft below with one dilemma, and would love your feedback:

    Onana
    Estupinan, Stones, Gabriel
    Rashford, Saka, Bruno, Martinelli, Foden
    Haaland, Jackson
    Sub: Areola, Henry, Baldock, Mubama

    Question is:
    1) Stick to this and then stones to Chilwell gameweek 2?
    OR
    2) Change Foden to Mitoma, and upgrade Henry to Chilwell?

    Thanks!

I deleted mine draft. Will come back fresh-minded 2-3 days before the Tourney starts. I'm very concerned about constantly changing drafts every time there is a match and someone says something positive or negative about a player.

Stones for one week isn’t worth doing.

That is a good looking team. I would lean toward 2), I wouldn't want to be moving players around after just one GW

Me too...but the way I look at it..after one gameweek transfer to Chilwell, I don't have to make any more transfers till gameweek 4...but am wondering on who will score more, Mitoma or Foden in gameweek1... thoughts?

I think Mitoma and Foden both start GW1 but I think Haaland will get the lion's share of chances whereas Mitoma is more the focal point of his team (for now)

If you money in the bank start Stones - if you don't get Chilwell.

Do we think Newc are good for top 4 again this season? Picking Newc players for GW1 seems to be a differential vs the community

Seriously doubt they will be top 4 again. But likely still fighting for a spot in Europe.

Spurs Chelsea Liverpool all will be better, United might drop off a bit

top 4 again from Newcastle will be asking alot, for me might depends how good Tonali plays, him and Bruno will be key to everything they do this season imo

I think Spurs and Chelsea have a long way to go to get to Newcastle's level. Liverpool haven't looked convincing so far either, losing Fabinho was a blow.

In terms of xG and xGC, all 3 were way off Newcastle, especially defensively. I think it'll take time to close the gap.

Top 5 would be great. I'd expect Liverpool to be above them this season. Impact of Europe on Newcastle, Brighton and Villa could be a challenge for them. Chelsea should be better this season, though short of numbers in midfield. I think Spurs found their level last season and woud be very surprised to see them challenging for Champions League.

Any thoughts on how Gvardiol signing with City will effect things? Think it will effect Stones playing time?

It will be a while before he starts I assume. Plus Stones is so much easier to type in an FPL team...
Why is there a 'V' in that name there - really unsettles me. Brain cannot compute it!

no, pep beds in players slow + Stones has such a unique role in Cities' current set up. if they revert back to traditional full backs maybe but after the success of last season with 4 CBs can't see it

Don't think so with KDB back in the picture. Can't see where he fits in with the current front 5:

      Grealish - Haaland - Bernardo
      Foden/Kovacic - KDB
