How are people disadvantaged if the points are left as they are?

Either, just dont see how anyone is disadvantaged if the fpl game is left as it is whereas if they remove points people are hugely disadvantaged.

OK I can get up to 9pts with Solanke if the game is declared finished and th bonus then added, or 7pts for Saliba from my bench if Solanke is wiped this week.

I was expecting an og & rc for Solanke before the final whistle so yeah that’s a disadvantage for non owners if the points are left as they are.

because you got points for a game that doesnt exist?

for all the occasions during covid or because of bad weather where games didn't go ahead, were people given points back or anything like that? Of course not.

Solanke owners literally want special treatment, claiming its fair, when what they propose is the opposite of fair lol.

It’s a bit stupid to allow points for a game that doesn’t count. Would dis credit FPL a lot.

Game was not completed, 90 Minutes were not completed! How on earth would you expect points for that.

Regardless the result does not stand too as the game was not completed, why should Solanke owners get special treatment and ruin the credibiltiy of FPL??

The match was not completed! My mate had Tavernier for example he could have gone on to get a winner and 3 bonus in the remaining time.

You’re only thinking as a Solanke owner.

Also is this game not based on the actualy premier league? Or am I mistaken?

Wouldn't really be called FPL anymore if they start adding points from games not counted in the 'PL'.

Should just change it from FPL to F. (Content creators start creating your new _F accounts).

And if the game is replayed, does anyone get points in that game or that game is just played separately from fpl?

Because they picked a player who played and scored. They rightly think FPL is not the Premier league. On a few occasions a -4 was taken. I am not concerned myself but when FPL say It will be a DGW and nobody hurts, it is garbage, Everyone can now buy him for this advantage. Just leave the points as they are. i cannot understand why FPL Towers had no rule to cover an abandoned game midway through. As usual, the game has got bigger than the organizers can cope with. They just enjoy the click bait.

They do have precedence .... again .......

"There isn't much in terms of a precedent to follow in the Premier League. Wigan Athletic's trip to Watford in December 2006 is seemingly the last example of a game being abandoned in the competition mid-match, and it was 52 days later that the waterlogged fixture was replayed from the first minute.

On that occasion, Fantasy Premier League removed the match and any points accrued in it from the gameweek - meaning it was as if the players had not played and automatic substitutions were made."

        My expectation is;
(Most likely) - game is abandoned and played at a later date (not this week). As per precedent game is null and void so all points and minutes removed and autosubs used as normal..
(Unlikely) - Game is replayed in full this week. Al previous points and minutes null and void but players will score for the new game.
(Most unlikely) - Games is finished this week by restarting where it left off. All points and minutes remain as they are with 31mins + injury time to play).

Neither team plays in EFL Cup midweek, policing would be an issue but finishing or replaying behind closed doors isn't impossible, just imho hugely unlikely).

Read above mate. FPL is not PL. I fail to understand why anyone thinks this apart from association. If I were a Solanke owner, it would wind me up.
I understand your post and I see the issue. The game ended before time. Give the guys point who took a -4 to get someone in. It will not hurt anyone.

FPL’s points system turns Opta data into points, so say the rules. And it also says they won’t enter into discussions about it either. Evidentially they want the points to be objective as possible (from their perspective) and to effectively run by itself, with little or no intervention from FPL side. Seems reasonable to me, and it’s also the expectation of anyone who reads the rules before playing.

FPL consults with Stats Perform to classify fantasy assists. Stats Perform use AI to analyse Opta data. I don't think Opta have a fantasy assist classification, but Stats Perform do list it as an Opta event category https://www.statsperform.com/opta-event-definitions/

The bookies don't even pay out winning bets on Opta data despite that being their rules.

Quite a few were caught out by a 96min yellow card or a sending off for foul play but VAR was ignored. It's even captioned dangerous foul play in the official image and they don't count it as a stat.

Lots of these virtual businesses that piggy back on actual football flex it to suit themselves.

Businesses who are out for themselves and screwing their customers, yeah. Not sure what that has to do with FPL, a free game. If they flex on this, they will be going against their rules and precedent, and cherry picking which manager choices they want to advantage. Solanke wasn’t the only player in that game. Some FPL managers would undoubtably lose out if they were randomly awarded points for a non-game, nullifying their bench option. Why is Solanke the king?

Many ways to skin a cat; or should I say SCREW? As I said, it does not overly worry me, but I see an argument on the part of Solanki owners; especially when a large portion took a hit. think they have points, then reduced to 6 then dragging their feet to finalize the problem

They can't decide until a decision has been made when the game will be played and whether it will be finished or restarted.

Yes decisions to be made by PL upon which then FPL decisions can be made accordingly.

Also FPL cannot have ANY credibility if they award points for a game that was incomplete (not finished). Let alone a game that doesnt count in the actual PL we play fantasy for! A bit ridiculous tbh

Agreed. People arguing they took hits etc (I did by the way) - there could have been a flash flood or a bomb scare (as Man U a few years ago) and it would be the same result. Or even if Lockyer had the episode in the dressing room prior to the match and Luton pulled out....it doesn't really matter

I took a -4 as the best info available told me Haaland wasn't starting and my sub was Baldock. My other two subs were banned players. I figured two lots of appearance points over two games wiped out the hit.

So assuming the points are deleted I'll have taken a hit for nothing but a one match punt plus using two transfers. With the information in advance I clearly wouldn't have done that so it's a -4 off my score for nothing. At least my Porro move worked out.

It's an exceptional circumstance and therefore the fairest solution should be used. You can always make an argument on both sides as what it should 'technically' be, but this is a game and does not need to follow a set of strict rules.

Removing the points fully, would mean there will be a large population that will be unreasonably penalised off the back of making a solid and sound decision.

If the points remain they are not gaining an unfair advantage, because in the scenario of a DGW that is available to everyone. Therefore players that do not own Solanke are actually benefitting from the situation, even in the situation of points remaining.

      So, two outcomes:
Points removed: Player A is penalised and Player B benefits.
Points remain: Player A is in a neutral position and Player B benefits.

There will also be a portion of the community that will provide any argument they can to benefit the most out of the scenario, without approaching it for nobody to be punished.

I have Solanke with Lascelles first bench, so my personal scenario is an absolute maximum of 3point benefit.

Limited IQ it seems. United and Newcastle are not even in the top 4 best teams in the premier league, so Bayern and Dortmund finishing top of the groups means nothing. City, Pool and Arsenal would dismantle any German team.

Seems strange that gameweek 17 is remaining open when there are no more matches to be played. When games are called off/abandoned they always get re-scheduled for later in the season.

I'm well aware whats happening. As per my post, abandoned/postponed matches are re-sheduled for later in the season, therefore there are no more matches left to play in this gameweek. GW18 starts on Thursday. The match is not being replayed beforr then!

At what point in any of my posts have I expressed any kind of impatience with tbe outcome being decided? I was merely questioning why the gameweek is being kept open when all games have been played and there is no possibility whatsoever of the Bournemouth Luton game being replayed before GW18 starts particularly as the guy is still in hospital I believe.

In the absence of confirmation of a replay points will have to stand and in that case bonus points can be added.

Even if tipped off by the Premier League by Thursday people will want to know for certain.

I think for the 'integrity of the fantasy cup' removing points isn't great.

But perhaps that's not their main consideration, afterall not everyone qualifies so it's an extra.

I feel guilty with my 2 illegitimate Senesi points. Sure I took a hit to get him, and wont have any bench cover, so only fielding 10 this week, but I cant accept those dirty ill-gotten points.

Originally Fab was covering Areola with the dodgy wrist but he has come in done well & got two clean agents out of 3. The feeling is Fab organising the defence better as he is more vocal. It would be a harsh dropping now.

Not a fan, but he is useless regardless. You are like at 0 or 2 points. Just get Leno or something. But keep Areola I guess, transfer your bench keeper to Leno and have Areola as back up.

I believe they will keep this GW open until BOU v LUT has been replayed. Then they will close the GW with points from this new game, before adding all autosubs. This would be fairest as it will not allow managers to speculate on the rearranged fixture, thus not penalising those who had originally punted on this game. Only downside to this scenario is if someone who played in the original game doesn’t feature in the rearranged fixture (eg if Solanke picks up an injury between now and then.

Not sure, but I think they’ll keep the GW open until it has been, even though this will mean more than one GW open at a time. I believe it is the most elegant solution.

I doubt they can keep a gameweek open till then when other gameweeks will be played in between.

Most convenient situation for them wouldnbe to add a double gameweek for 20 if its played then or whenever it is.

Also creates hype for fpl in terms of more hype during a dgwk then sgwks

    Morning all,

If Areola plays against Liverpool in the cup on Weds then it's safe to say Fab has the jersey in the league (for now). Should I rely on an error prone Turner (BOU) or take a -4 to upgrade? Still have my WC and will play in GW20

    Turner
    Porro - Trippier - Tsimi
    Salah - Gordon - Bowen - Son - Palmer
    Solanke - (W)atkins

    Areola - Saliba - Archer - Taylor

I wouldn't bother taking a GK hit for just 2 games, might as well hang on with Turner til WC. He was rubbish but I'm not sure if Cooper will want to chop/change again

Thank you Sir. I would agree - Cooper is already on thin ice and might look even more weak if he changes GK again. BOU isn't the worst fixture and a CS isn't impossible for Forest if they get their act together.

Is it just me or have FPL done nothing wrong other than wait patiently for the PL to make an announcement on when the game might be replayed? Keeping the GW live seems sensible given the next GW doesn't start until Thursday. There was no obligation to close the GW last night. All this talk about sitting on the fence and having a rubbish system is laughable.

Agree everything , but up to the point that FPL have not informed us that's actually what they are waiting for.
They ate their own worse enemy
If they announced that I think they would get somevslack.

Fair comment. I can understand why they would generally want to keep any comms/tweets to a minimum (they'd be inundated with trolls) but in this case an update would have been useful.

    Morning to you All,

    Which is better?

    A- Johnstone > Henderson/Petkovic for free
    B- Johnstone + Adingra > Turner/Bentley + Bailey for -4?

PL haven't announced that at all .

All we have to go on right now is the football law

"An abandoned match is replayed unless the competition rules or organisers determine otherwise.”

No chance they squeeze a game in & then we have the week break 13-20 Jan

This. With the fixture schedule as it is, neither team are going to play this again during December or January. They're more likely to just call a draw than that, or we get a double in like, April.

well done to all of you who jinxed the the pool united game..."mo 15 pointer in coming!" " gonna be another 7-0!" ...no one actually considered the history of this fixture which is more often than not complete dud.

Wish they’d bloody just make a decision now, either way I’m starting to care less or less - don’t get why they are dragging this whole thing out so long 🙂

    Morning all.
Anything worth a hit here? 7.2 itb.
Not sure if Cash starts and dont trust Gabriel.

    --Leno
    --Tsimikas--Porro--Cash
    --Salah--Palmer--Gordon--Saka--Bowen
    --Solanke--Watkins.

    --Areola--Gabriel--Udog--Alvarez.

    A) Cash/Gabriel to Tripps.
    B) Gordon to Son.

    Thanks guys.

Gordon has an equally good fixture so no point getting Son.

      Cash to Trippier.

    2. Here is Cash, give McGinn

Cash very high chance starting this GW. Pau is a doubt and important game after Sheffield

Think Lenglet would probably come in for Pau though. And if Bailey & Tielemans are fit, Cash won't start RW

    Son, Saka, Salah, Palmer, Gordon

    Watkins, Darwin

    Archer, Gabriel, Kabore & Areola

    A. Lascelles to Trippier
    B. Darwin to Solanke

Will they remove the goal from solanke record? If so then I can see why they would remove his points for scoring.
If his goal still stands on his record then why would they remove the points for scoring on fpl? He scored it fair and square.

Is his goal counted for golden boot?

Also is this game based on the premier league?

If a player got a red card for dangerous tackle would he still have the ban or would that be removed ?

Yellow and red cards always stand.

They have to because fewer than 8 players is an abandoned game I think.

So you could just get 4 sent off.

Unless the rule is match abandoned and forfeited 3 nil?

Anyhow has to stand for yellow cards.

Had the disaster of getting Sanchez in last week and now Areola seems to be No.2. Who to bring in?:

    Pickford or Dubravka?

Dubravka if you don't have a Newcastle defender

I’ve got both a Newcastle and Everton defender, so doesn’t really help
