It doesn't sound like something I would do. Maybe Solanke > Darwin if the funds were available and it didn't leave me short of 11 BGW26.

Is it worth taking a -4 to replace Konsa (if it looks like he's out after today's presser) with a non blanking GW26 replacement? Have Gusto (cry) and Branthwaite (mci) as subs.

So Gross propelled me up 85k ranks, Foden back down 97k spots and Jota's points were worth 11.5k places in rank.

Slightly topsy turvey and slightly backwards overall.

I was only ever benching one of Foden or Gross.

I was set on Saka, Jota and Palmer.

Yeah ... I got Haaland in. Played him with Watkins and Solanke.

I'm thinking of Solanke to Cunha next week so I can upgrade Turner to a BB goalkeeper for sometime soon.

See if Villa v Chelsea plays out unscathed first on Wednesday evening.

Looking ahead anyone without free hit available is going to be in serious trouble in game week 29
Only 3 fixtures will be played
14 teams will then get a double game week later on
Any ideas as to when ?

    1. Toon lurk
      • 8 Years
      1 year, 10 months ago

Only 3 fixtures so far, I think we're also guaranteed one of villa vs west ham or arsenal vs chelsea. I have 2 spurs and will have another 3 players if the Arsenal games goes ahead or 1 if the villa game. So 5 or 3. 4 FTs between the DG25 and BG29, so that would get me to 7 or 9. Take a hit and presumably I'll have one more player playing elsewhere as some other game will likely be on... 9 or 11 players seems right. WC week after.

Not saying this is the way to go but I don't think FT 29 is totally necessary

      1. Toon lurk
        • 8 Years
        1 year, 10 months ago

But let's say I can field 8. How many more points will a FT really gain me? There won't exactly be players to target, there are no great fixtures. The best players aren't playing. If I get 8 (hopefully 8 good picks), then will bringing in the 9th to 11th players best (imo) really swing me that many more points? Or is it better to field 3 in the hope the FT is better spent elsewhere on a DGW? I'd think so

Only 2 games confirmed so far
Plus one more after this weeks replays
So only 3 in total = 6 clubs
        Burnley v Brentford
        Fulham v Spurs
        Plus either
        Arsenal v Chelsea or
        West Ham v Aston Villa
Obviously if you don't have free hit but plan ahead you can get around this But this somewhat restricts transfer plans for future game weeks

How are you lucky Foden owners feeling this morning? So frustrating as a non owner when you make good gains ( 40 points on cash league leader) then he captains Foden. When your luck is in.....

Anyway enough self pity. I don't have Foden so next gw

    Gordon, Porro --> Pau , Foden -4 ?

Will give me Trent, Jota, Haaland, Foden for the DGW

Those with all your chips left (WC BB TC & FH), what is your plan?

I am thinking FH in 29, WC will be ahead of a DGW where I play my BB in 37(?),

That leaves an issue of where to play the Triple Captain chip, 25? Or will there be a better opportunity?

Deadending into WC27 now. FH29/34, not quite decided yet. Played BB this week. Will probably TC25 - don't think there'll be another DGW opportunity except 34/37 and maybe a minor DGW for BOU/LUT. I'm not keen on leaving TC for 37

Moreno is probably first choice, Digne is back soon from injury.

If going with the Trippier then you are heavily relying on attacking returns. Newcastle defence is on a downward spiral

Villas defence isn't particularly great either though. I know they have kept a couple of clean sheets but they were pretty marginal & lucky not to concede vs shu.

        I would go Trippier.

Re the third City player...I didn't see a kick of the ball last night so I'm speaking in the blind but is there an element of it was Foden's turn to hog the points last night but there's just as reasonable a chance that it will be Alvarez's next time or is that pure nonsense?

Alvarez came close a few times, Foden's first was lucky (poor header gave him an open shot at Flekken from about 12 yards out) and his second was from him being left completely unmarked from even closer, third was nice though. Flekken was in unbelievable form so could have been any number of other players to haul, Foden seemed to be in the right places at the right time
