Thoughts on this team? I'm a bit stuck.

    Areola (Dubravka)
Gabriel, Saliba, Trippier (Van Hecke, C. Richards)
Palmer, De Bruyne, Odegaard, Foden, Neto
    Haaland, Watkins (Nunez)

    1 FT, 0.1 ITB

Do we know likely potential doubles for 34 & 37? Heard that 34 looks poor but will that change after the next fa cup round as its normally the stellar week to play a chip

Ben Crellin has an excellent spreadsheet on Twitter showing the likelihood of doubles and when they are likely to be played.

Just had a quick look at this and not sure if I am interpreting it correctly but it's looking like GW34 is going to be the bigger double gameweek.

At first glance it might appear that way but most of the clubs that have a high percentage to play in the midweek of GW34 blank that weekend, Ben is predicting that 4 or 5 teams have a DGW34 most likely to be EVE 90% chance, SHU & CRY 70%, and BOU 59%, and GW37 to have 8 or 9 clubs with a double including City, Pool, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. The key columns are the ones i orange.

I was thinking of an Arsenal player and contemplating Martinelli. Any love for him?

Everyone is going for Son but I don’t need him for 29 and he seemed rusty last match?

I'm waiting a week on Son at least

        KDB can switch to him

I'm more likely to go for Bowen or Gross over a 3rd Arsenal player at the moment

Martenelli points probably worth more for you in terms of bang for the buck tbf

I was also thinking of going for Martinelli for the next 2, but I haven't really been watching all that much of Arsenal except the Newcastle game, where I thought he looked more dangerous & closer to a haul than Ødegaard

I don't understand how it can be regardless of chip use. Depending on chip use one of those players has more fixtures than the others.

Best TWO defenders to play here? Or take a -4.

    A. Livramento (Wolves home)

    C. Doughty (Villa home)
    D. Estu (ful away)

Might? If you can reach 9 for GW29 with no hits you're well ahead of the game. (you probably know that!). I have a goalie (2 for what it's worth) and 3 currently injured position players. I'd need to take several hits just to catch up with the likes of you. So for me I think it's clearly worth using the FH and hoping I get some differentiators.

When your team has loads of issues, the flipside is it's easy for big hits pay off. If Salah is out you could do Salah - Son, then TAA & Foden - Senesi & Bowen next week? Or just WC - it's not a bad time to play it

a -16 hit will get you 5 core attacking players: Toney, Son, Richie, Baily/Luiz, Bowen,

This equates to a a net -6 points as these players should return a minimum of 2 points each

If any one hauls, this effectively pays for your hit

There's a good chance of a few decent returns, and they have decent fixtures beyond 29 to hold

but you also have 3 free transfers leading up to 29, Saka probably is one

Expected DGW34 teams by Crellin's sheet:

    BOU: avl & wol
    CRY: WHU & NEW
    EVE: NFO & LIV
    SHU: BUR & mun

    Lower chance:
    MUN: NEW & SHU
    NEW: mun & cry

FH may be better in 29 if only expected doubles go ahead

34 looks like a BB and then FH for 37

There will be enough teams playing for something and you'll know who they are the day before selecting the players

BB boost is a bigger risk given that dynamic

Lots of Free Hit in GW29 Debate.

The way I see it, if you have 3 or less current players for 29 you need to free hit because you either suffer from too many points hits or lack of players. If you have 6 or more (I have 7) don’t free hit. 4 and 5 is more of a judgement call. Obviously injuries could change the maths.

For me, there seems good benefit in saving FH for 34 as teams expected to have doubles that week (according to Ben Crellin’s spreadsheet) are not ones you want to be holding players for e.g Palace, Everton and Man U. Free hit allows you to have a team based around City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa and Spurs, all of which either won’t, or are unlikely to double in 34.

This is it basically. Nicely summarized.

I would FH29 unless you have 6 GW29 players already in your team before making transfers. This would allow you to get to 9 without a hit. 10 with a hit if need be.

But if you have 5 or less I'd just FH. You diverge this week and don't buy a GW29 player and go for a Bournemouth player for instance and just lean into the FH29.

Guess the other thing is the importance of playing the fixtures ahead of you. A made the mistake of not doing so earlier in the season.

The good thing about how the fixtures have turned out is that going for players that play in 29 is also a fixture boon. Villa and Spurs have good fixtures in and around the blank so you can happily invest in them if you decide you want to avoid FH29.

Do you have a link? Sorry I've only seen the clip from this morning where he was spotted but not training and I had a nice tantrum about it having moved him in last night

I’ve been searching and the only evidence of an injury is a list of players at training on some wall. I reckon that’s spread to become widely accepted as a fact of his injury.

Not sure if this guy is reliable but clearly there are alternative views.

I’m waiting before leaping to a potentially misguided move

Sorry to hijack your post btw.

      I think I'd hold KDB.

If Rich isn’t injured, maybe Son isn’t so attractive?

If I'm holding a settled team that's in the green arrows, but has only two BGW players (Areola, Watkins), do you think I'm better off using my FH in the BGW knowing that I'll begin prep for the DGWs from a strong position. I don't have WC2, and the person I'm chasing doesn't have FH, but has WC2.

Are there any changes that you would make to this WC team

    Areola Leno

    Virgil Saliba Doughty Romero Moreno

    Son Bowen Maddison Palmer Barkley

    Watkins Haaland Morris

    2.5 ITB

    3 28 DGWers
    10 29 BGWers (11 with 1 FT)
    34 FH

    Any ideas would be welcomed

Just had a proper look at the ticker and my squad.
My player list for game week 29 is as follows:

    Watkins.

Would you suggest I free hit?

Quality over quantity! Watkins will prove all the 10 others whos the boss!

It would be prime FPL to be beaten after weeks of careful preparation by a team with one player on TC after a massive haul.

    Here's my current thoughts...
No idea. I don't think using FH29 is worth it. Only have Watkins, Doug Luiz, Areola for now... GW27 Gordon to Son GW28 Foden to Bowen GW29 Saka, Solanke to Richa,Toney -4. Not losing any player in a particular week I'd rather want to keep, 6 of the top attackers and a goalie for gw29. Talk some sense in to my head please?

For reference my team now is: Areola Leno
Trip Gab Ake Branthwaite Bradley Saka Foden Gordon Palmer Doug
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

Compare a FH29 plan to your current one.

      I think I'd do like:

      GW27 - Gordon > Son
      GW28 - Bradley > Senesi
      GW29 - Field XI

It looks kind of similar but realize that you gain a fixture from Senesi and then 4 extra players in GW29 and the 4 points from not taking a hit in 29.

Furthermore, Bournemouth have good fixtures coming out of the blank so you have Senesi and Dom for after.

That's way better than your plan imo. You take a -4, lose Saka and then still only play 7 players in GW29?

Cheers Camzy. Those extra 4 players, +4 points will probably get me no more than 16 points looking at the fixtures.
        Definitely some food for thought...

Put like that, it does look logical, but you'll only know if it's a better plan when you get to use that FH you kept up your sleeve in 29.

Senesi I'd take issue with though. Averaging a booking every 3 weeks, on 8 at the mo, there's absolutely no guarantee he gets a DGW28.
