Villa Park this evening hosts a potentially pivotal match in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification places.

Aston Villa v Newcastle United gets underway at 17:30 BST.

The Villans’ head coach Unai Emery has made four changes to the side that came up narrowly short against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.

Marco Asensio, Ollie Watkins, Ian Maatsen and Tyrone Mings all come back into the line-up.

Amadou Onana, Marcus Rashford, Lucas Digne and Pau Torres drop out.

For the seventh competitive game in succession, Newcastle United field an unchanged side.

Aston Villa:
Martínez, Cash, Mings, Konsa, Maatsen, Kamara, Tielemans, Rogers, Asensio, McGinn, Watkins

Subs: Disasi, Barkley, Rashford, Digne, García, Malen, Onana, Olsen, Ramsey.

Newcastle United XI: Pope, Trippier, Schär, Burn, Livramento, Guimarães, Tonali, Joelinton, Murphy, Isak, Barnes.

Not freehitting, but it would have triple Newcastle, Muniz, Cunha/Strand and Ait.

Palace put 4 past Villa just before the ITB. (here hoping Emery is to hyperfocused on CL lol)

Hopefully people sell Newcastle players, lol.

I might just stick with triple Newcastle attack until the season end. They have no blanks, and one of the best teams. I doubt I can ride the Barnes/Murphy train for the rest of the season though, but lets see.

On WC so relatively similar to the FH (with the added advantage of not getting 3 Palace players back)

      Sels
      Schar, Konate, RAN
      Salah, Diaz, Barnes, Mbeumo
      Isak, Cunha, Wood

      Martinez, KDB, Dias, Branthwaite

Salah, Palmer, Bruno, J Murphy, Bowen

      Strand L, Isak

        Dont have one.

But it is (with no hits).

        No keeper.
        Huijsen VVD Liva (Munoz Gvardiol)
        Mbeumo Bowen Murphy Salah Kliuvert
        Isak (Mateta, Marmoush)

Probably get Cunha and play no keeper.

        WC35 BB left lol.

      Saka won't start

The last two weeks he has come on at a set time regardless of the game situation, to play the exact minutes needed so it'll be whether that fits into the plan.

id get rid of bonus, and make it more transparent.

Like the old Yahoo Fantasy Football game was.

GK get 2 extra points for a win 1 draw.

Tackles won exceed tackles conceeded a bonus point.

Big chances created accumilated points and Big chance missed deducted points.

Wing backs were still the best scoresers in defence, More expensive keepers won more games, so would score 4 points with a 2-1 win, so were more expensive for a reason.

Just max goes to the goal scorer. Too simplistic and not transparent.

Still based on Opta. Missed that game

    Isak Cunha Wood

I think Brentford will score, so I wouldn't go Sels.

Cunha could be risky with Larsen playing well, see how they do this week.

      Palmer seems pointless.

I'd probably go Muniz over Wood. But might be a minutes risk.

sess over robinson if he starts and plays well tomorrow. tough fixture for Mbeumo, maybe look at bou/liverpool attacker as spurs/united will have 1 eye on midweek. depends on risk appetite but Barnes to getting more minutes atm than Murphy and finding himself in more goal scoring positions

      1. F4L
        • 11 Years

*tbh would have bradley in there if he plays well tomorrow as well. dont think taa will come straight in after a while out. if this is the fixture Liverpool win the league and with Spurs looking at midweek, atmosphere will be raucous and could be a mauling tbh

Another poor week so far, to follow up on Isak TC. Getting to the point where planning and overthinking makes things worse.

My FIL has got 69 points from 10 players so far, with 8 still to play. Used his chips weeks ago. He's even benched Welbeck's 5 and no harm done.

    Areola

    Salah Murphy Mbeumo Bowen
    Isak Wissa

Can get here with -4. Will I get buried by FHers? I reckon I'll probably be okay. Mykolenko is a weird pick but it's because I specifically need cover in GW35 and 37 where he plays IPS and SOU.

Not bad, it can work but that depends on how ugly GW36/37 are. If Man City and Villa double in 36, what's the plan etc

Honestly, missing the chance to have a full on attack on Lei and Sou, which is probably one of the strongest arguments for FH given how bad those teams are and how rare you have the chance to put 3x against them, but you probably know that already. Also dont like double Bre vs nfo away, otherwise its okay

I can buy Wolves and Fulham players if I want. But I'm not sure I want to go too hard on them.

Cunha can be picked instead of Wissa. And I could go like Robinson instead of Mykolenko.

I doubt free hit in 34 has much joy. Wolves and Fulham attackers don't particularly scare me, owning them would probably scare me more.

Maybe fall a bit behind, but you can more than make it for it with Haaland (c) against sou, BOU in DGW36 when others won't be able to fit him in 🙂

Got a feeling that Haaland will not be a great option in 36. He is expected back right around then and will lack match fitness. If he is back in 35, it might not be too bad. But if he isn't expected back until 36 itself, the minutes wont be good you'd expect.

People holding out and hoping on Haaland may get lucky, but I'd say it doesn't look likely at the moment. Unless Haaland returns sooner.

      Pretty good.

      Mine is (no hits) FWIW

      no GK
      VVD Livra, Huijsen
      Salah Murphy Mbeumo Bowen
      Isak (probably Cunha)

WC35 though. cant see the point in taking a hit for a GK Will be Sa, Southampton always score a goal, so do Ipswich.

Think Everton will get a CS against Chelsea. Forest and Brentford moving forward look great.

I think he will do just that. well played.

Had Mbeumo and bought in Bowen today (and VVD) for -4 as no FH34.

Will go lower obviously but feels ok right now.

      Glasner AM doesn't

Havent seen two weaker yellow cards in my life today. (Richards, escpecially as Scott for Bournemouth had a final warning 5 minutes before)

Mbuemo now on 210pts and the 2nd highest scorer in the game yet incredibly has an EO of just 10%.

Wissa. Cheap, nailed, 90mins every game and an incredibly consistent performer yet has been continually ignored all season. I don't think his EO has been above 15% at any point during the season. Baffling it really is.

Yep. I think it was coming though. Palace had been in such good form for so long. Even though I thought that, I still tripled up on them for last week. Only got Munoz this game week, I put Mateta first on the bench.

Mateta and Eze can both go. Munoz I think probably stays, will probably end as the highest scoring defender. It was nice he got a CS today, he has already exceeded by expectations for this double lol.

yes Mateta hasnt looked the same since his injury and made the space for Eze. Eze has been bad for some time though. (Fulham FA Cup semi excluded, but was shocking until he scored then too)

Did you see the two yellow cards for Richards mate, i couldn't believe it), still he gets a rest.

If someone gets injured this week I might have to sell Mateta. But the plan is Eze>Mebumo, otherwise.

Eze is so annoying. I still think he is due loads of goals, but I am not keeping him. He really messed last week up for me.

I blame Eze for everything last week.

His offside goal seemed to trigger Man City's comeback.

He stole the penalty and missed. When Mateta probably scores.

Then Mateta and Eze got subbed, where as I bet that wouldn't have happened if Mateta scored that pen.

Newcastle would have conceded if Mateta did score as well.

Eze is to blame for everything IMO, lol.

Yes, I agree. Honestly. At 30 minutes into the Man City and AM chip on Glasner, i was thinking, happy days, he missed two sitters against Brighton too.

I blame Kamada for that stupid tackle. The tactics were clear. Let Man City pass side to side then let them cross. Kamada just went all kung ho.

Then Eze a very close second. Sarr missed a sitter just before the Eze offside too.

Newcastle at their place are a different beast. But i dont know what Eze was doing. looked sheepish today.

I am just showing you this so you don;t have to watch the worst game of football ever.

But have you ever seen two weaker two yellows Scotts wasnt a second yellow either, but at least he was warned. Final. then he was subbed.

exactly. The rest of the game was so dull, it was just about whether any Bournemouth challenges were worth a second yellow.

He was the ref when Eze scored a perfectly good direct free kick, against Brentford on the first day to take the lead it was a fantastic free kick.

Glad I'm not freehitting in 34. I was just looking to see what team I would make. There's about 6/7 players who stand out to me, but the other 4?They are total stabs in the dark. Those other 4 players come from fixtures which are difficult to call.

Even out of the 6/7 players I would want, there are massive risks there. Cunha is under threat from Strand, and Muniz is under threat from Jimi.

I am seeing Palmer in some FH teams.

        Larsen is injured?

A wolves forward does tempt me until the end of the season, and ideally that would be Cunha. But yea, lets see what happens this week.

I think he made it clear he wants to leave, so I don't think that's good. Pereira also benched him last week.

When did you or plan to FH?

I feel ok FHing this GW, in some BGWs there's a very set template but here feels like quite a few decent upside options e.g. non-Salah Liverpool attacker vs. Spurs, inform Barnes, Wolves players vs. LEI, Fulham punts and we will get a bit of variance hopefully!

I used it this week actually. Going ok so far on a green. I just thought 33 had more potential and 34 looked navigable.

I think there should be a lot of variance in 34 as you say. I am not seeing an obvious template there. But lets see what the cartel come up with.

That Pool / Spurs fixtures will be interesting. No idea what that result will be, other than a Pool win. Diaz is probably a good idea?
