Aston Villa v Newcastle team news: Four changes for Villa

Villa Park this evening hosts a potentially pivotal match in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification places.

Aston Villa v Newcastle United gets underway at 17:30 BST.

The Villans’ head coach Unai Emery has made four changes to the side that came up narrowly short against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.

Marco Asensio, Ollie Watkins, Ian Maatsen and Tyrone Mings all come back into the line-up.

Amadou Onana, Marcus Rashford, Lucas Digne and Pau Torres drop out.

For the seventh competitive game in succession, Newcastle United field an unchanged side.

    I am a Burn and Glasner owner. How unlucky have I been?
    A) 100%
    B) 90%
    C) "Glasner was always a risky pick sir. Forget the red card and the own goal that was always going to happen you should have gone for a different AM. Even though in 4 games the prediction was that Glasner would get over 20 points and previous managers like Emery or Moyes with bonus points did well, I knew he was going to do terrible this time round"

      I think its not so much that you have been unlucky more that you haven't been lucky. Losing to Newcastle and City were probably the expected results. A draw to Bournemouth is about right. The 20 points predicted was presumably a single table bonus win, which may yet happen with Arsenal, but it would have had a huge variance. Table bonus is by definition not the expected result and is always good luck if it comes in.

      I'll add that I really hate this chip and hope it goes somewhere far far away next year

        there is no correct answer it seems... there's a case for each depending on ur style...
        15 balanced players per week is CRAZY strong as well...

      Quite simple really:

      - Introduce the new 70 minute clean sheet return with 2 extra if none conceded at all

      - Get rid of bench completely, select XI players

      - 2 transfers as standard each week (given no bench)

      - You get 4 extra players when you ‘Bench Boost’

          Really, picking XI players much easier then bothering with a bench.

          2 transfers each week because then you can make better alterations, very limited with what you can do with 1 transfer
