FPL Hall of Fame Gameweek 1 team reveals: World’s best managers

Four of the best managers in Fantasy Football Scout’s Hall of Fame have exclusively revealed their Fantasy Premier League (FPL) teams ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 1 deadline!

These are the cream of the crop, the FPL bosses who haven’t just racked up one outstanding overall rank but several of them.

Our star-studded quartet are:

  • Abinav C (rank 3rd): Finished 193rd in the world last season, which was their second time in the top 1k and fourth in the top 10k. Hasn’t finished outside the top 50k in any of the last nine seasons.
  • Rob Mayes (rank 6th): Hasn’t been outside the top 30k in the last nine years, finishing top 1k on two occasions and top 10k on a further two.
  • Gideon Moss (rank 7th): Followed up a top 2k finish in 2023/24 by finishing 11th in the world last season. Has another top 4k rank to their name on top of this.
  • Niklas Nylander (rank 15th): A top 1k finish in 2024/25, their second such overall rank. They posted top 10k finishes in 2023/24 and 2022/23, too.

      Consider one of Kelleher/Petrovic as a set and forget, downgrade 2nd GK to 4.0m and use the 0.5m to upgrade elsewhere

          Rotating goalkeepers and you get caught out on the wrong end of surprise results.

          It's not worth it because it does your head in and costs more.

      I really think you have to pick 2 of the 3 big bois and spread the funds about because that midfield is ghastly

        Why is it gastly? Two big hitters, Rice getting more defensive points and cheap route into Arsenal, Malen great in pre season and Reindeers whilst a punt could be a find.

          Arsenal’s attack is poor and Rice is a cause of that
          Malen isn’t nailed whatsoever
          Reijners is good if you can eat the occasional benching, not sure this team can

      Don't recommend the Salah + Haaland option but if you're committed to it, that's not bad. Guehi a risk given LFC, would swap to another 4.5 or use the 0.5 from having Dubravka as 2nd GK and upgrade to Lacroix, who is much better from FPL perspective

    Somewhat template and I know Reijnders a risk with Pep Roulette, but would like start Larsen instead after GW1. I'm risking it with 3 @ 4.0 but all 3 should start.

    Is Diouf or De Cuyper a better pick?

    Both average around a goal in 14-15% of games, Diouf is about 4 years younger so less career stats to go at albeit he edges it.

    Who has better assist potential too?
