The penultimate match of Gameweek 16 sees Brentford take on Leeds United at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Kick-off is at 16:30 GMT.

TEAM NEWS

Keith Andrews makes four changes from last weekend’s line-up against Tottenham Hotspur.

Aaron Hickey, Mathias Jensen, Vitaly Janelt and Keane Lewis-Potter come in.

Kevin Schade misses out through suspension, while Kristoffer Ajer, Yehor Yarmoliuk and Mikel Damsgaard drop to the bench.

Daniel Farke makes just one alteration to his starting XI: Ao Tanaka in for Ilia Gruev.

    See it time and time again, not great defences concede goals in good fixtures. Fulham, Brentford etc probably best just to avoid them

          Also need to consider what the cheap defenders enable further up the pitch. If Andersen instead of Guehi enables Foden instead of Doku, for example.

        Not Fulham anyway. They were the xgc darlings last season. Leno is well past his best, he'll concede more than he should, usually on his near post. Calvin Bassey is fun going forwards but hes got a mistake or two per game in him around his own box.

        Speaking of Van Dijk, it's worth noting that Brentford had 1.90 xG, wouldn't call Liverpool solid either despite the CS.

          yeah but they had started to tighten up vs west ham, sunderland and inter.

          i cant work out vvd this season. dont think hes value for money, doubt he outscores people like keane by much but i think you can still rely on liverpool to keep a clean every 3/4 matches even with their issues defensively. sometimes its just the fear factor of going to anfield still. villa went there and barely had a kick after 15 mins

        I think the best are the most settled generally. Fulham have had quite a few issues to be fair. Forest getting there under Dyche when they are able to play Murillo not Morata who is very bad. Some teams the drop off is huge when they change players.

          yeah agreed fulham im never confident in defensively. iwobi has come in in the engine room for lukic and while the attack has prospered its left the defence more open. will change now but yeah

          forest very confident in tbf. had milenkovic for 3 GWs now and hes doing solid despite 2 ycs and 1 og 😀 and yeah murillo huge for him to be back, quality player like you say

          palace, forest and everton i trust outside the traditional top teams. all managers prioritise defence to a degree with their set ups

          to your last point, its probably the main reason its tough to figure out which defence is worth investing in. a team loses a cdm/cb etc and then you're left wondering the affect like you say and by the time youve realised its too late

          ive been impressed with how chelsea have dealt with colwill's injury, although they obviously have the bigger squad to deal with an injury to a key player like that. left me not investing in that defence until this gw which wasnt ideal

        Possibly. I go on form, fixtures and the "eye test" and then the rest is down to luck. Had a bad start to the season and then mainly green arrows since.

          Besides the obvious issue of squad depth, one other thing to keep in mind about 2 non playing FWDs is that in a (admittedly rare) case of a Haaland no show you are playing with 10.

    Who do you prefer to downgrade to enable Wolte > Ekitike? Have Raya as GK

        Ekitiké has some decent fixtures coming. Wilson had a run of three, and you've missed the first. A, I think. But maybe just downgrade Raya as well, defenders have a far higher ceiling for a lower price.
