Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

How much do you think Hazard will rise to by next Saturday?

I need to pick 2 transfers to do out of:

Terry > Santon, Mata > Hazard, Torres > Adebayor

….thoughts? An alternative would be to do Mata > Ben Arfa (who is eventually coming in anyway) so there’s 11 players actually playing next week.

Do people think it’s worth doing Rooney and Taarabt to HBA and Tevez now??

HBA looks certain to rise, Taarabt could fall, Tevez could rise.

Is it worth the risk of Tevez getting injured 2moro?

I'm contemplating pulling the trigger on HBA as well (in for Lampard). Not sure if I want to do Lampard to Ben Arfa or Ivanovich to Rafael. Feel like I need to decide soon though.

Do you need the rooney funds for the mid upgrade? If not, just do HBA. If so... then I'd have to say losing .1m is worth it just in case tevez gets hurt (Ben Arfa may not even go up tonight).

Need the Rooney funds (0.1 off, damn Aguero and his price drop before I got rid of him!)

If I was you I'd go with Lamps to HBA, he could do serious damage against that Villa defence.

hmm... so the whole trade is a no go unless you do it now (provided that Ben Arfa rises). That's tough. I probably shouldn't give further advice/commentary, because I want HBA too, so his value is potentially exaggerated in my mind right now (which is why my gut says take the risk and do the trade... but that's probably just my HBA bias talking)

The sad thing was that he wasn't. I think Benitez decided he was surplus to requirements, or at the very least he could do without him, and sold him. When Alonso was with you guys you were CL contenders and title contenders. And I think if Liverpool had tried hard to keep him they would have. I can't believe you guys let him go

I'm sweating on swapping Hoillett to Hazard for a 4pt hit...

I'd lined it up so I could do it next week when the little fella wasn't playing and be able to ensure that Hazard doesn't get injured on international duty, etc, and give JH a last chance against City (yeah, a slim chance I realise, but QPR have to start playing sometime. Although to be fair he's on my bench at the moment).

Now however it looks like JH is going down and Hazard up which will stretch my affordability to the limit (have 3.4M spare) and I might get pushed into it anyway.

    Any sane thoughts?

The 1 mil is probably the difference between having Hazard in GW4 or waiting a while

    VDV Bale Noble Kagawa Ireland
    Tevez Graham

    Federici Clyne Terry Torres

Keep Torres. VDV to Michu and that's it. Wait on Hazard.

Seems so silly now, but wanted a cheeky pre season punt for their good fixtures!
With Noble and Ireland, there is no upgrading

We were plenty with faith in Villa. Zoggy and Bent were popular picks once upon a time

What do you guys think of this team?

Out Mata and Graham - in Maloney and RvP. 4 point hit

    Bale, Michu, Pienaar, Noble, Maloney
    RvP, Torres, Tevez

0,4 in bank for Hazard transfer.

Would mean having to play one of Noble, Maloney, Gunter and McCartney every week though...

        Looks strong.
Don't see a problem with playing at least one of those 4 every week.

just got home from work and im staring in amazement at my rank right now o.o *enjoys it while it lasts*

AND i transferred hazard out before gw2 (before the second match of gw1, actually). god damn. it was either gonna be him or torres though so i'm not that bothered i suppose... obviously having seen him i'm now considering getting him back for gw4, despite chelsea's mostly awful fixtures from gws 6-13... hmmm...

    Ramires to Michu done.

Guthrie is my current highest scoring mid, Bale and Valencia are fighting for their lives, if they both flop the WC could be out.

Sorry, I know I asked this last page and got a few responses but not really definitive, but N'Zogbia to

    A) Pienaar (better team, good form, OK fixtures - not so sure about the home to Newcastle and away to Swansea)

    B) Duff (good form, better fixtures - whm, WBA, wig)

    Thanks for all your responses!
