With the Gameweek completed by a classic Anfield tussle, it’s time for our members to scan some of the key statistics from the weekend matches to help identify the form and trends that could help shape future Fantasy selections…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      I'd do

      Valencia>Ben Arfa(+1.5m)

To get 4mill in the bank, then go Ade>RVP

without transfer, I would have a team of:

    DDG
    Hughes Cuellar Demel Zab
    Nzog Pineear Bale Michu
    Tevez Graham

    next week.

what do you guys reckon should be my transfer?
I am planning on ditching Nzog, but have no idea for who. Money no issue. But no kagawa please

but afterwards, he has a hard run of fixture.
everton away, sunderland away, united home (not so hard, considering our defensive form), liverpool away etc.

actually it is one good fixture, one bad fixture.

Those away games would be the awkward situation, where it is impossible to bench him, but he will very very likely come out with 2pts.

Trying to make a move before prices rise

    DDG/Fed
    Kompany/Williams/Demel/Clyne/Pearce
    Bale/Michu/Pienaar/Yaya/Noble
    Torres/Tevez/Petric
    3.9m in the bank

    A. Torres to RVP
    B. Noble to Kagawa
    C. Kompany to Baines
    D. Save the transfer

Either way Bale to Hazard next week for CHE cover.
I made a decision to not take any hits this season... It SO much harder to say than do!

      B. You will want some MUN attacking coverage and Kagawa looked sharp today. I'd actually be a bit worried if I was Rooney about being pushed out to the left when he returns. Kagawa looks very comfortable in the hole behind RvP and I suspect SAF is planning to switch his traditional 4-4-1-1 to 4-2-3-1 to suit RvP. Torres has looked sharp so far; that's not a popular opinion but he has. If you are determined to bring in Hazard though, then A.

I can actually do the move to Kagawa and have .04 left. So theoretically I can do Bale to Hazard so long as he only gets up to 9.9 this week.
I watched the match and he was gifted his goal and I fear he's not the bonus magnet that RVP is. But then again he is 4.5m less to save for other areas.

Still I really hate grabbing guys early in the week for the fear they get a knock or news comes out they aren't playing.

The comments here on FFS demonstrates why you should be concerned. There are way too many managers that make transfers for fun; who think nothing about 4 point or 8 point hits even though this is statistically stupid. It's regarded as "fun" and that screws the market for managers trying to build a team w/o hits. So the risk for failing to make an early transfer is real.
More importantly though, with Torres you already have CHE coverage. Bale is a massive FF asset and you can look at the statistics on the Member site to see he will come good. Yes, Hazard is the color of the day, but he is not going to get 40 assists this year. Bring in Kagawa and keep Bale and ride Torres for your CHE attacking cover. Hazard's assists will mean Torres goals.

Thank you for the wise words.
I have to admit last year I was one of those fun guys making multiple transfers and got to top 50k. Then I realized all the top managers had very few hits and planned very well and stuck to a plan... And that's what I'm trying to learn this year.. To be more disciplined with my transfers and building a solid team.

Hi guys, this is my current squad. In a bit of a state, I know:

    DDG - Fed
    Clichy - Ivanovic - Hangeland - Fonte - McCartney
    Bale - Hazard - Noble - Maloney - Michu
    Pog - RVP - Torres

Already made my free transfer to get RVP in. 4pt hit worth it for Torres > Tevez?

Not really worth having all 3 when there are perfectly fine midfield alternatives such as Kagawa and Hazard. I find its better to have team balance making a cheap striker essential.

Why not convinced on Bale? He looked quite threatening against WBA and came close a few times, if he'd scored people here would probably trying to figure out to to fit him in. He's the only attacking Spurs player that's a 100% lock in the team and scored twice against Norwich in this fixture last season.

Not to mention, once the CL starts up players the midfield options from the big 4 won't be nailed on whereas Bale is someone you never have to worry over.

Yeah, all valid arguments. But at the end of the day an FPL player is judged on points, and points only. For example Taarabt and Suarez was in the Threat Top 5 almost constantly all last season - still you could wager your house on them not scoring anywhere near that.

I am forced to keep Bale in my team right now - which I'm OK with - but I probably would not bring him in.

Fair enough. I'd be concerned if he was playing poorly which he isn't. The bigger concern is AVB doing his level best to remove another EPL team from the top 4.

That said, had Vdv not started this weekend i'd have probably sold him for Bale.

I could force out an 11 but ideally I'd prefer it not to consist of Clark and Clyne.

Agree on Bale but he's always a threat and there's not gonna be many better fixtures for him than Norwich at home.

You think an 8 pointer is unnecessary?

No, I think that's a massive front line but tweak the midfield. Since you don't have Hazard, keep Torres - you need CHE attacking coverage. With RvP, do you need Kagawa as well ? I might let Kagawa go for a cheaper mid (Pienaar for ex.?) and upgrade Noble or Larsson (Ben Arfa?) or Tierney (Jenkinson?) Noble is completely overrated - look at his FPL history - never scored 90 FF points. Larsson, I think is now at risk from Adam Johnson. It's a great idea to dump Tierney, you can't see a lot of CS for Norwich, but my priority would be Noble or Larsson.

I've lost soooooo many points this season already from benching players that then scored points (Gibbs and Pienaar this week, with 18+ points missed in GW1) I'm seriosuly leaning towards heavy hitters + never going to play just making up the numbers, cheap as, total bench warmers as a tacitic......

Just taken an 8 point hit and already regret it but nothing I can do about it now.

    Ivan > Rangel
    Taarabt > Kacaniklic
    Torres > RVP

Definitely had to take a hit in some form though as I had 3 Chelsea players + Bennett + Puncheon + Taarabt so the chances of getting out a full 11 this week were very slim. I think if Taarabt wasn't due to fall I wouldn't have done it.

I don't think Kacan/Guthrie is a massive problem. With that defence it won't be an issue to field 4 defenders sometimes if necessary and his strikers are unlikely to be benched anytime soon.
