This was a Gameweek littered with outstanding performances, particularly in midfield where the array of talent jostling for spots in our squad now presents a major headache. This week’s bumper edition of “Big Numbers” for members carries out the usual exploration of the stats behind the Gameweek, with midfield options across all the price brackets gaining momentum and our keen interest…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Evra's 2 BPs were shocking. He was just woeful. gave away the second goal and did not do much either. I think Lambert and Schneiderlin deserved the 2 and 1 BPs respectively. Our defense was just too bad.

    Well, i thought Hazard was a must, then RVP scored 3 (shoulda been 4), so i've brought them both in despite not wanting to this early, for bale and Torres. -4 point hit.. Internationals are a worry, but hopefully i make some money off it, it pays off.. At least i still have my wc!

    If by some miracle my team comes through the international break unscathed I'm taking a punt on Bale > Nani (c). Made a huge difference to United yesterday whilst Welbeck was woeful.

            Now that I've checked, it looks like they both may go up by the next gameweek. Tough decision. The stats say Ridgewell has more potential, even though he hasn't scored a goal.

            I'm sure that goal will attract more players to grab Mcauley, so maybe he'll be rising more.

          I wouldn't worry about financial cost, more the lessening attractiveness of playing for a Liverpool team who aren't in Europe or contending for anything. Easy downward spiral to get into. Not saying it will happen but a possibility nonetheless

    Mornin' lads. Might be taking a hit to get a WBA defender in. Want Ridgewell but is McCauley more nailed on than him now that that other fella (who i think plays in Ridwell's position) was bought in the tranny window?

    Foster/Begovic
    Rafael/Hangeland/Demel/Cuellar/Clyne
    Cazorla/Bale/Pienaar/Guthrie/Sterling

      Bale might drop 0.1 or 0.2 more during the break. You're better off having someone like Routledge until closer to the deadline and transfer Bale in the very last moment. If you're luckly you'll make a 0.1 profit, if you're not you don't lose any more on Bale.

    Is there anyone who would like to join me in making a case against taking your team apart, by taking mega points hits or blowing your wild-card, for no other reason than to get RvP? We all know he is a class act with a proven track-record, but he is injury-prone and after his penalty yesterday Rooney (when he returns/plays) should be favourite to take them. Had he not scored a hat-trick against what looks to be the weakest defence in the premiership would we be so driven to get him whatever the cost?

      I agree. You can find points elsewhere. I did without RVP for a long time last season and did just fine. (If you check my rank bear in mind I started only in GW14 and managed a top 10 placement in the GW14 league). I was annoyed plenty of weeks when all my rivals had captained him (as per usual). Worst of all was the game against Blackburn. But you get over it and the points still come in if you play it right. Its also kind of exciting because the points in your mini league will start to come very acyclically. One week your on top next week the RVPers are.

      You have a case. I think a WC should be worth 20-30 points, so to use it to chase last week's points could blow up in you face. I don't have that dilemma but I would 4pt hit to get RVP in if I did - if you don't have him you could be facing a big deficit in your mini leagues by the next gameweek.

      your having a laugh! he scored 30 in the league last year! he has 4 in 2 matches! He has a class team around him! could of had 5-6 against soton. If he keeps scoring like this and you dont get him, you will have to swap more players out and you will still be too far behind to even factor!! I can see him scoring another couple this weekend vs wigan!

    Would you transfer Hazard in for a hit now? Want him before the price changes but I am mindful of the potential injuries over the break…

      Yes. Im doing it now, just deciding which defender to get in.

      If worse comes to worse he gets injured and i play guthrie 😆

      But in all seriousness, he;ll keep rising. Need to build some TV.

      Howard->Mignolet (or Foster if you dont get WBA defenders)
      Jenkinson->McAuley
      Graham->Fletcher (or Berbatov if you want to take a big gamble)
      Ivanovic->Baines (optional)

      Wish you could fit in HBA and Caz.

      Cazorla is so influential and HBA is more attacking than Yaya.

      Pienaar is great though too, so I'd go A. Are you taking a hit for this? Could you link your team?
