Tottenham spring to life at the Madejski to bring the weekend’s action to a close. That gives us the opportunity to delve deeper, plunder the members area data and pick out the points of interest from the nine Premier League encounters so far…

Jeeze, I said last week that I wish I could reverse the Hazard > Bale...damn price rises forced my hand (plus the fact I wanted Hazard) oh well, made 0.6 on the move but lost some points so far.
As stupid as it sounds, Im considering Bale instead of Ben Arfa as my Kagawa replacement, despite the goal being shite his stats are far superior to Ben Arfas and hes a streaky player and Spurs are better than Newcastle..but Ill decide Friday as I am sick of making decisions and regretting them before the deadline.
Rant over, F U GW4.
Also, you too Defoe. Spent so long sticking up for AVB only to bag him when picking Defoe over Adebayor...bit me in the arse. 🙂Open ControlsPosted up a piece on the viability of an all mid priced forward line in the preseason before GW1. I won't bore yous with it again, though will link if anyone is interested.
I suggested that a possible viable alternative this year could be to pick up a few mid priced forwards, such as Tevez, Ba, Jellyfish etc and use the additional funds saved to invest elsewhere in our squads. Basically the idea was that only 3 big forwards existed, Rooney, RVP and Aguero. Now imo, Rooney has showed previously he does not profit FPL wise when working with another world class striker (see previous seasons with Tevez/CR7). RVP has to average around 8 points per 90 played to justify his cost, and that is just about justifying it, so your already effectively paying for his upside. BTW, last season he averaged 8 points per 90P.
Now, if you think he can sustain those numbers this season, then he is probably worth it for the captaincy alone. But if you like me, think Rooney will take some of the limelight at some point or that others represent better value, then the mid priced striker route may be for you.
I think it is reasonable to say, Tevez, Berbatov, Fletcher, Ba, Podolski, Jelavic and Suerez all look good shouts for hitting double figures in goals this season and bringing some useful points per million spent for owners. Perhaps, great value in the cases of Tevez, Berba, Ba and Pod.
Now, issues to consider before jumping aboard this route is that a certain confidence will be needed to stick the armband on any of the big mids (Cazorla, Bale, Hazard etc) or one of your mid priced strikers. Id say if the fixtures and form suit, id feel comfortable with this, but others may seek the safety and explosiveness of RVP. Saying that, Tevez to date has being a very safe armband choice. Aguero coming back into town could change this and it remains to see if rotation will kick in later on in the season. Now for my money, Aguero is a great bet as a big striker, so that is a disclaimer right there.
Rather then pushing my warez or gloating, id like to think this post is for anyone WC or without RVP and considering there options. Imo, there is viable alternatives to the template squads so often posted on here. Easier to suggest after a weekend like last perhaps, but RVP will come good some days and you will just have to grin and bear it, hopefully the extra funds redistributed throughout your squad make the difference to close any gap on those weeks.
It's a thought to consider at least.Open ControlsI agree - am already considering Fletcher, Bers and Lambert as my front-line for the next few weeks. If i WC that is.
Open ControlsVery well said.

for 3rd striker spot, think i would go Fletcher over Berb with his dgw looming
on a side note, as a Baines owner I'm contemplating downgrading to a 5-5.5 to fund the aboveOpen ControlsActually, baines still has a fine fun of fixtures
He could still bag you plenty of ptsOpen Controls
