Arsenal’s battling performance at the Etithad and a dramatic second-half turnaround at the Lane bring Gameweek 5 to a close. Our members can now let the dust settle on their Fantasy scores before gorging on all the stats from all the weekend’s matches, or just read on for the numbers that piqued our interest…
China Mag, i'm beginning to think that what you say about marveaux is all wishful thinking now ;). though i didn't start him. wouldn't have made a difference though
Open ControlsBit of advice please chaps..
My team is:-
Foster, Fed
Baines, Ivanovic, Rafael, Demel and Mariappa (~don’t ask)
Michu, Yaya, Hazard, El Ahmadi and Marveaux (~again...)
Van Persie, Tevez and Berbatov
Just did Zab -> Baines
Should I take a hit to get Pienaar/Fellaini in? If so, who to who?
Ta very much!Open Controlshow much in the bank? can you get one of them in for el ahmadi or marveaux?
Open Controlsif you can downgrade one of marveaux/el ahmadi and upgrade the other to Fellaini, that's a fine move. Not sure if the math works out. One of them to Nolan is a positive move as well IMO
Open ControlsIf I could, I would! Not sure how I've managed to get stuck with those 2, bad transfer moves at the start of the season I think, and now money's tight!! Still think El Ahmadi could come good (but then I thought that about Marveaux...)
Open Controlssorry, i should have realized that both are around 4.5 (right?). Sterling is really viable at that spot if he hasn't risen already, as is Kac.
Hazard is downgrade-able too if you're ballsy. His one spot plus Marveaux costs like 15m. So two mids for 15m gives you lots of options (fellaini, piennar, barfa, maybe even a Cazorla/Nolan combo)Open ControlsThat's right (although Marveaux has gone down to 4.3)
Am very tempted to ditch Hazard, although sods law he'll start producing the goods again as soon as I do! Might get Cazorla in after next week, perhaps wait and see how they play against each other and pick whoever plays best! Although it seems that Cazorla will be rotated less but only time will tell...
Thanks for your advice!Open Controls
Made some plans for the next few weeks, not sure which is the best option though…
Opinions?
1)
Zabaleta –> McAuley
Kacaniklic –> Nolan
2)
Zabaleta –> Sagna
Kacaniklic –> Gaston Ramirez/Lallana
3)
Zabaleta –> McAuley
Guthrie –> Gaston Ramirez/LallanaOpen ControlsIt's linked....?
Open Controls
no 3 looks good to me..try to hold on to kac if u son't have any other fulham player
Open ControlsYeah, I don't mind 3 either..
I wan't to bring in Koscielny, are people really keen on West Brom?Open Controls
3, or Zab to Clark/Lowton and Guthrie to Piennaar/Fellaini (and join the debate over which one... I'd say Fellaini, but price rises will make that move very time sensitive)
Open ControlsNice idea but I don't want to bank on Villa defenders.
Too much of a risk and therefore my defence will be cheap. Also, I would be able to afford Fellaini anyway 🙂
I think the man is McAuley, however, I already have Foster in goals...Open Controls
Fletcher or Ba?
Open ControlsIs A Hole -> Baines worth doing? Chelsea's fixtures are on the decline whilst Everton's are improving.... but keep in mind that A Hole scored 15 this GW....
Open Controlsand baines scored 11 this week and has better fixtures and more attacking threat + set pieces
Open Controls
got 68 even with Hazard captain fail.
Thinking of hazard > oscar & VP > Aguero over the coming weeksOpen ControlsGood move.
But still need to assess Oscar 's gametime.
Looks a mile better FPL player than Hazard.Open Controls
Jussi/ Begovic
Davies/ Baines, Figueroa, Demel,
Michu, Yaya, Pienaar, Bale, Hazard
Berba, Fletcher, RVP
I was thinking of changing Hazard to Barfa. Does that seem like a dumb move?Open Controlsplease help me
my team
jasskelainen ruddy
ivanovic ridgewell clark harte clyne
hazard cazorla michu lennon noble
rvp tevez graham
im affraid because lack of everton player
player that i want to get rid are graham, harte and lennon
to wc or not?
thank in advance!Open ControlsNot for three or four or even five transfers would I use a wildcard before April.
Those three now is just an 8pt hit.Open Controlsno need wc.change lennon > fellaini / pienaar for a ft.do it quick, u may as well get profi of price rise from the former..when u need to change back, no hit needed.
Open Controls
How about mixing it up a little? tevez and hazard out, aguero and bale in. Seems a bit risky but with 2FT's, would it be wise?
Open Controls0.8 in the bank
Foster Fede
Cuellar Ridgwell Demel Baines Clyne
How would you improve that defence
And also, how many times will Barfa rise this week?Open ControlsCuellar to Hangeland/Ashley Will to give you 3 solid starting defenders per week (Baines, Ridge, Hang/Will)
Or just take out Ridge for Gibbs with the 0.8Open ControlsI just got ridgwell for lescott (city's defence is awful. No cleansheets and i think lescott will be relegated for Nastisic)
I think i can get Gibbs or Merte for Cuellar.Open Controls
looks fine ... no need to tinker unless you fancy a more expensive keeper
Open ControlsBarfa once or twice hard to say. My estimate is once and close call Fri-Sat
Open Controls
TW getting Demel is sensible long term, though their home fixtures aren't great in the short term. They did keep an away CS at Norwich last GW, I am gambling on them keeping QPR out away this week.
Doubling on Ba 'n' Arfa is no problem to me. Individually they are both monsters.
Hmmm... I think I've started something there.
Ba and Ben Arfa = Banarfa
Night!Open Controlshi gents,
need some advice.here is my team for the week:
ruddy (foster)
baines (c) rafael nelsen (mccartney, cuellar)
haz caz michu pienaar (guthrie)
rvp tevez lambert
balance 0.1m
got 2ft, already transferd davies > nelsen
was thinking to use to other 1 either to change cuellar or mccartney, but since i don't use them might as well bring forward the 1ft. what do u experts think?Open ControlsBoyce > Rafael and Tevez > Ba for a hit is looking interesting. I could also do Tevez > Podolski which might mean I can avoid having to get Cazorla, while retaining a heavy hitter forward.
Open Controlsi really like the boyce and tevez out for rafa and ba move! i'd go for it now before rafa rises
Open ControlsCool, any love for Lambert? The potential value is incredible...
Open Controlsyes! but see i'm thinking it goes berb and ba > fletch > lambert > defoe
what about you? lambert is a good shout thoughOpen ControlsThat order sounds reasonable though Southampton really are crazily attacking, the terrifying thing is that not only has he scored against big clubs but against Villa his returns increased.
It will be strange to have so much money in the bank, but Tevez > Lambert doesn't look like a fall in points to me long term.Open Controls
I had Nasri injured this week and had to the longer-term choice of Nasri to Cazorla (leave the forwards alone) or nasri to Fellaini and mentally pencil in Tevez to Podolski GW7. Went with the latter (have Ben Arfa already and nationalist soft spot for berbatov)
Open ControlsNice going getting Fellaini at just the right time! Podolski is tempting me, the question is whether he's worth 1.6 more than Ba and 3.4 more than Lambert. He'd have to do a lot to be.
Open Controlstrue, but unless aguero really takes off, I"m not sure what I need that extra money for. The posts are blowing up this past week (and this weekend) because money is not a major constraint in choosing forwards, so its all down to the fpl manager... just a man and his balls and no excuses. Makes the risk and reward and remorse much more salient.
(*little tipsy tonight)Open ControlsYeah it's exciting! Template teams on life support right now.
Open Controls
Foster=Federici
ACole Lescott Hangeland Demel Clyne
Hazard Toure Michu Noble Britton
RVP Tevez Graham
Plan to WC after GW 7
2.4 and 1 FT
Everton and Sunderland best for next GW so which of
A) Hangeland > Baines leaving 0.3
B) Britton > Pienaar leaving 0.2
C) Graham > Fletcher leaving 1.3Open ControlsSpurs seem to have an excessive amount of double Home/double Away games between now and January. They play Home twice in a row 3 times and vice versa with away games. This is a bit strange...I don't remember a team having this many of those...is something wrong here?
Open ControlsOk, Transfer out Torres or Tevez?
Torres has bad form and would only lose the 0.1m transfer fee if I sell him.
Tevez is subject to rotation now, and I hate having players who don't play the 90. However, I would lose 0.5m in transfer fees and it would be hard to buy him back.
Ugh, 45 mins to decide.Open ControlsYeah, just looked at finances again. It would be
Torres ---> Fletcher and Demel ---> Baines
or
Tevez ---> Fletcher and Reid ----> Baines
has to be the first option, right?Open Controls
TORRES!!!! can't believe you still have the bugger! there's a reason spain played much of the euro's with a false 9
Open ControlsYeah, I took a gamble when I played my WC during the international break and had RVP, Torres and Tevez in my front three.
Thought Torres might come good against QPR/Stoke.
In hindsight, it was a terrible move and left my team too unbalanced so the next few GWs is just about getting some balance to my squad without taking too many hits.Open Controls
Torres ➡ Lambert? Confirm? Or Berba instead? Team linked.
Open ControlsHey Guys i need some advice!
Jussi/ Begovic
Davies/ Baines, Figueroa, Demel,
Michu, Yaya, Pienaar, Bale, Hazard
Berba, Fletcher, RVP
I was thinking of changing Hazard to Barfa as it seems that Hazard is fizzling out while Oscar and Mata are picking up form. What do you guys reckon?Open Controls+1
Open Controls
Thoughts on Gervinho, was almost there on Sunday?
Open ControlsAnyone have an update on cuellars injury?
Out for a few weeks?Open ControlsAnything here?

Alreet lads
Good to see us get a win again last night, without playing well. We really haven't got going this season. But we are getting the players back (tiote and colo should be back for next week), and have a really nice run of fixtures coming up, so we should be okOpen ControlsIts decided. I will hold onto Tevez for at least one more week as its simply too hard to choose between the shear number of in form mid priced forward options. Another week to assess the situation could be invaluable.
Open ControlsIf you are going to have ANY big hitter (rvp, aguero, rooney) then Tevez is still the best option. He won't be rotated any more than the others, and is much cheaper so it hurts less when he is on the bench.
I won't get him out unless it looks like he will play all UCL games, and aguero the league ones. Then i will get agueroOpen Controls
How come my mate is getting points for having 4 city players?
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/1109124/event-history/5/Open Controlshe hasnt made any transfers since sinclair signed
Open ControlsThat's ridiculous that he's actually doing pretty well, wtf....
Open ControlsI though it is supposed to not count the score on the 4th player?
Open ControlsNope all players count, only stipulation is that when he next makes a transfer, one of them has to go.
Open Controls
Evening folks 🙂
Thoughts on keeping/ditching Tevez??Open ControlsKeep short term at least
Open ControlsWill probably sell next week. It was tough enough trying to predict the starting forwards last season when Mancini only had 3 available so having 4 will probably make it too frustrating to hold onto any, or at least until we know who he favours starting in the CL this season.
Open ControlsKeep
Open Controls
Yaya out for Ridgewell > Baines swap?
Open ControlsYeah i got Tevez, but thinking goin Yaya to Nolan
Open Controls
Yaya is probably one of only a couple of nailed on City players.
Am just doing some work on CL/Europa to estimate effect on their strikers.Open ControlsIm just thinking is it essential to get baines in. I would have to drop a city player Haz or Caz to get him in... =/
Open Controls
Ok this time for real... g'night.

Suffering from WildCardTwitchFinger at the moment. I promised myself that I would save it for a vague 'later in the season' this year, but got a few issues
DDG - has to go.
Cuellar - how long out?
Fox - was he rotated or injured, not yet read reports
Dyer - is he now a major rotation risk
Noble - not delivering
Graham - not delivering (though will probably keep short term)
Tevez - more rotation (again will probably keep short term)
Add in RVP and Kagawa who have their associated risks, but currently plan on keeping.
I do have 2 FT this week, so should be able to put up a starting XI.
Anyone got a compelling cure for WildCardTwitchFinger? I am beginnning to convince myself that it is already 'later in the season' than I usually use the WC.Open Controls
