Arsenal’s battling performance at the Etithad and a dramatic second-half turnaround at the Lane bring Gameweek 5 to a close. Our members can now let the dust settle on their Fantasy scores before gorging on all the stats from all the weekend’s matches, or just read on for the numbers that piqued our interest…
Holding onto bale for his nice fixtures proved a masterstroke. Should I do the same for torres (ship after NOR) and graham (ship after RDG, WIG)?
Open ControlsNot the same imo China Mag. In both cases I think the team's potential is in midfield.
I'd ship them both.Open ControlsBut if I want to get rid of both now, rather than gradually, it will probably mean a WC, as I have plenty of other pressing matters. Still get rid?
Open ControlsMaybe just Torres as this gives you more cash to move elsewhere in that case. you can use Graham as your front eight bencher. Though he may drop .1
Open Controls
Do so at your own risk. I think you will find that a lack of form can make even the easiest fixtures seem hard. I'd say Bale was simply unlucky in the early fixtures but certainly could not have been considered out of form.
Open ControlsAgreed. Not sure Bale was ever far out of form (I held him too), but Torres clearly is. Graham might well be too, however after having had him thus far seem sensible to hold for the better fixtures, I too will then likely get rid.
Open ControlsSure, except for Feb, Mar, April and May of last year and Aug and part of Sep this year. If form is looking and running about with great style he was always in form, if it includes scoring a goal now and then, well look it up.
Open Controls
I'll probably get slated for this for toon tinted exaggeration, but i reckon that ben arfa can prove himself to be one of the best players in the world. Don't worry, i'm not comparing him to messi and ronaldo, they are on a whole new level, but he's certainly good enough that if he carries on I wouldn't be at all suprised if barca or madrid come in for him at the end of the season. Anyone else agree?
Open Controlsim with u! still thinking how to get him in my team..money problem!
Open ControlsHe will likely be in my team soon too, but, whilst I won't slate you for it, I do think it a little Toon over excitement. A talent certainly, but needs to progress rapidly along the proverbial steep learning curve, before the really big boys come calling.
Open Controls
Highly unlikely, needs to perform at international level first
Open Controls
Jaas - Foster
Baines - Lowton - Demel - Boyce - Ridgewell
Hazard - Santi - Ben Arfa - Bale - Sterling
Podolski - Berba - Tevez
0 in bank.
Thoughts for this week?
Hazard -> Silva for a sneaky differential anyone? He's an intergral part of MCI and is starting to play full games again.Open Controls+1.thinking the same but perhaps haz deserve 1-2 more games
Open ControlsThe next game is against Arsenal at the Emirates though.
Open Controlsyep..but it is a marathon not a sprint. this is good for him, as i will see what he perform in big games..
if not good, i will do haz > silva & tevez > ba..next week though, no this weekOpen ControlsHmmm, sounds good. Hazard lives for another week! Perhaps.
So keen to jump on this Fellaini train, but no space for the poor fellow.Open Controls
reposted..sorry but got no response 🙁
need some advice.here is my team for the week:
ruddy (foster)
baines (c) rafael nelsen (mccartney, cuellar)
haz caz michu pienaar (guthrie)
rvp tevez lambert
balance 0.1m
got 2ft, already transferd davies > nelsen
was thinking to use to other 1 either to change cuellar or mccartney, but since i don’t use them might as well bring forward the 1ft. what do u experts think? who shld i brin out/in?Open ControlsApologies - stuck at end of last page.
Suffering from WildCardTwitchFinger at the moment. I promised myself that I would save it for a vague ‘later in the season’ this year, but got a few issues
DDG – has to go.
Cuellar – how long out?
Fox – was he rotated or injured, not yet read reports
Dyer – is he now a major rotation risk
Noble – not delivering
Graham – not delivering (though will probably keep short term)
Tevez – more rotation (again will probably keep short term)
Add in RVP and Kagawa who have their associated risks, but currently plan on keeping.
I do have 2 FT this week, so should be able to put up a starting XI.
Anyone got a compelling cure for WildCardTwitchFinger? I am beginnning to convince myself that it is already ‘later in the season’ than I usually use the WC.Open ControlsWow you're doing really well, I would contemplate just getting rid of Dyer and Graham for the moment, I know their fixtures look good but you could be better off cashing in on Dyer and upgrading Graham. You could do DDG to someone else later on. Cuellar hopefully wont be out that long I hope.
Open ControlsThanks Martin, certainly my best start to a season. I certainyl am contemplating losing Dyer, though I really wasn't expecting him to be the one suffering rotation. Graham is a possibility too, but reckon I might keep him for the home games. Could well be DDG that goes this week, which will also help the funds a little.
Open Controls
Let me cut through all the WC analyses that I/we usually offer and ask a simple question:
"Do you like your current team?"
That's it - it's that simple. The game's meant to be fun ... if you feel that your deadwood is a blah team and you'll need to 'ugh' your way through the next 3 weeks or so = use the WC.
If you like the team, but it has some problems - and you can still field a squad each week - hold off.Open ControlsThank you Eric, I think I understood the trawlers and seaguls nonsense, so this plain speaking is easy.
Yes I do like my team, yes I am uncomfortable with a few players.
2 FT's this week Likely Dyer and AN Other, might yet hold faith with Graham.
So ther you have it, the cure for WildCardTwitchFinger a dose of Enigmatic French genius
( I actually think French genius might well be an oxymoron, but Eric is keeping the Tricolour flying for now)Open ControlsCheers, hope it works out for you. Forward! 🙂

Im close myself,my first week under 50 and alot of changes needed to be where i want to be
Open Controls
Ryan. I heard that rooney is back in full training. So if he doesn't play against spurs, he surely will the following week. RVP will play in the UCL, until qualification is assured, so I don't see why tevez would be rotated more than him. Any even if he is rotated slightly more, his price tag makes it a lot more palatable
Open ControlsI understand your logic in terms of price for sure and yes it does make sense. But the thing with Rooney is that I doubt he will be competing with RVP for a spot on the team. He is the type of player who plays in behind a striker. I think RVP is competing with the likes of Hernandez and Welbeck and for me RVP is a class above so should start nearly every match.
Open ControlsUp until his last couple of seasons, RVP was also playing behind the striker. Many think that number 10 is his best position. Rooney can just as easily play up top. I think the fact that ferguson rested rvp, even with rooney out, means that there will be major rotation when everyone is fit
Open ControlsIts really too hard to tell I think. The other argument (and I believe this to be the strongest arguement) is the CL and PL fixture difficulty over the next few months. Basically Citeh have tough CL games and easy PL games meaning they will need Tevez more for CL games. The opposite is true for United and RVP.
Open Controls
Slightly more palatable perhaps, but still not that palatable. I'm not yet convinced that RVP, Rooney and Kagawa don't all feature in SAF's first choice team, much more often than not. RVP and Kagawa were both bought before any inkling that Rooney would be out, I think the plan was and is to use them all. If United pogress in CL then obviously likely to be some rest periods (which in itself may make RVP too expensive). I currenly have no plans to ditch RVP and Kagawa, they are already ticking over quite nicely, when they synch and hit overdrive they may well be preceless. (or do I have my red tints on again)
Open ControlsReplied above CM. Bit late was checking injuries and bans.
Looks like Cuellar could be back in the same timescale too.Open Controls
McAuley to stay down?
Open ControlsMy team:
Foster Begovic
Demel Baines Cuellar Davis Jenkinson
Hazard Pienaar Fellaini Cazorla Sterling
RVP Tevez Berbatov
I really need some thoughts on my team. Thanks~Open Controlsresponse 🙂
Open ControlsBit of a vague question, but my thought is that looks like a perfectly decent team.
Open Controls
I'm playing this game since 2007, and I just made my crazziest transfer so far.
Hazard out - Fellaini in
I'm going with Pienaar Baines and Fellaini ! Can be stupid, can be brilliant, will see.Open Controlsif they get you the points, they get you the points. you might want anichebe if jelavic is out for long though
Open ControlsWhy not also Mirallas? But seriously, although everton have a nice run of fixtures, this is a really risky bet.
Open Controls
Tevez benched. Your views?
Open ControlsThe consensus is to hold for another week. Most expect him to start against Fulham. For me the extra week will hopefully shed light on the more obvious route for the right replacement
Open ControlsSay Tevez starts at Fulham. Then what?
Open Controls
expect him to start against Fulham.
Open ControlsHas me concerned too Gaz.
City and Utd now look to have their four strikers up and running or near as damn it.
Makes any one of the eight slightly less attractive imo.
No kneejerk here, but a very close watching brief.Open ControlsAt the beginning of the season Aguero/Tevez were first choice. Nothing has changed now that Aguero is back. The CL teams will all have rotation and you have to decide whether having a forward on the team likely to score the most goals this year is worth the occasional rotation frustration.
Open ControlsYeah, sounds easy.
Open Controls
Price changes
Rise: Jaas ; Baines, McAuley ; Fellaini ; FletcherOpen ControlsDudes
Quick pre rise dilemma
1. noble > fellaini + vorm > mcarthy ( I know, I know)
(0.0 left)
2. noble> fellaini + tevez > ba
(0.1 left)
both 4 pointers
Here's my team to help decipher the method to the madness
jaask vorm
baines cuellar demel staylor hageland
hazard michu cazorla kaca noble
tevez rvp berba
Fellaini is possibly going up today and I don't care what anyone says about fellaini dropping deep etc etc ...I've watched him twice now and he is a MAJOR goal threat. Why would Moyes mess with that?Open ControlsHey MartinUnreal, care to post your WC team?
Just curious. Cheers mate. 🙂Open ControlsHey, I haven't quite decided what I'm going for yet but I'll give you the gist of it.
Jussi Begovic
Baines Olsson Gibbs Demel Nelsen (may upgrade one of these to Rafael possibly)
Pienaar/Fellaini (can't decide right now) HBA Hazard/Cazorla Sterling/Puncheon Nolan
Tevez Fletcher Ba (going to swap one of these to Berbatov later) And going to leave enough to upgrade Tevez to Aguero, in fact I may just go for Aguero in the WC, undecided right now.
As you can see I don't have a clear plan just yet. More research needed. And the no RVP thing is something I'm going to give a lot of thought... 😀Open ControlsOh forgot to mention I'm considering Skrtel for a few weeks and then downgrading him. I fancy Liverpool will pick up form and keep a few CSs
Open Controls
15 bonus this week (include (C)x2 ), most bonus for me so far.
Any chance Foster gets another bonus?Open ControlsI got 11 bonus I think, and that is what I scored on Saturday...I got equal bonus points to my entire score on the first day!
Open Controlsyes they have.
Open ControlsLukaku 3 Brunt 2 Foster 1
Open ControlsBrunt lost his assist for Shane Long, Brunt wont get any bonus
Open Controlsand there is a chance Foster will get 2, that's why i asked
Open ControlsJust say Pienaar's assist got ADDED!
GET IN!!!Open ControlsJust saw Pienaar's assist got ADDED!
GET IN!!!Open ControlsReally?! 😯 Didnt know that!
Lets hope.. did they say bonus will be changed?Open Controlsdoes Pienaar have a shot at bonus now?
Open Controls
Too much!
Open Controls
In relation to tevez, and the overall man utd, city striker debate, I suggested at the start of the season that we should avoid altogether, and just go for mid priced strikers who are nailed on (eg jelavic), but i was shot down using the "captain choice" argument. Is it time to look at that option again?
Open ControlsYou were never wrong in the first place CM.
Open ControlsMid season yes, as there's lots of inform options up top:
Berbatov
Ba
Lambert
Fletcher
Podolski
etc..Open ControlsBut one of RvP/Tevez/Aguero seems really worth having depending on budget/personal preference. At the end of the day, MNC or MUN will likely have the most goals and the leading forward from either of those teams should have a huge haul. There are a number of midprice options but none that offer the consistency that a MNC/MUN forward who starts 24-28 games offers.
Open Controls+1 Two mid-to-cheapish strikers may be the right decision for now (for a little while), but not all 3
Open Controls
Except for the minor fact that Tevez is points leader now and earned mucho value.
Open ControlsMy comment was directed to China Mag.
I had better stop posting, for some reason I am cross tonight. I am normally a very congenial, happy, poster.Open Controls
Pondering:
Begovic
Baines Williams Hangeland
Hazard Gerrard Nolan Pienar Michu
Torres Berbs
Cech graham Barnett Fabio
2 transfers; 2.5 in the bank
Note: self-imposed limitations do not permit fielding players from last season's top four clubs
Advice and feedback appreciatedOpen ControlsAnyone seriously considering Baines(C) this week?
Here's my post-WC team for next GW:
Begovic
Baines-Saylor-Demel
Hazard-Bale-Barfa-Pienaar
Podolski-Tevez-Ba
Bench: Foster-Dyer-Hughes-Gallas
Should I bring in Santi for one of Bale/Hazard, or stick?Open ControlsNot really, find it hard to cap a defender, even if he's not really a defender, so much potential for explosive hauls further forward. That said, he was my highest scorer this week, but despite him always being likely to offer the attackig points, I feel his cleanie this week was a huge bonus that he won't get all that often.
Open ControlsHome to Southampton is the best CS odds you'll get all season.. Plus attacking threat, set pieces, corners, Fks, PKs..
Open ControlsIn fairness though Southampton look like they will score in most matches. Their main defence is attack.
Open ControlsBa away to reading seems better (c) material. I agree with Mikinoz that the clean sheet is so tenuous, and Southampton haven't exactly been barren, they've just gotten the ratio of GF:GA wrong.
Hazard to Santi is a ballsy but viable move if you didn't have Podolski. As such, just stick. No need to tinkerOpen ControlsUm, SOT have 9 goals so far; only 4 teams have scored more I believe. Everton may keep a CS but it will hardly be straightforward.
Open Controls
I kind of think Baines (c) is a decent gamble if you're looking to gain some ground on others as it could work out amazingly but I think owning him is enough, I'd take the big scores he gets and be happy with them. You are basically banking on him getting a CS and doing something attacking, but neither is guaranteed whereas at least you can be safe with a striker (c) as all the have to do is score one goal and it's enough.
Open Controls
He's got my armband at the moment. I would bring in santi for hazard in a couple of weeks time (after NOR)
Open ControlsFair enough, you think I should hold onto Bale for now?
Open Controls
Torres and Fabio out?
Open Controlsreply fail to anti top four
Open Controls
my team for the next gameweek is
vorm, begovic
ivanovic, mcauley, demel, clyne, cuellar
bale, fellaini, guthrie, cazorla, yaya
tevez, torres, berbatov
should i change torres now? because i am fed up with this guy.. tevez too looks like a rotation risk now.. what should i do now?
please reply.Open ControlsGet in Baines+Ba/Fletch for Ivan+Torres
Open Controlsthat is a good possibility.. so is it ba or fletcher?
which one do you prefer?Open ControlsIts opinionated really. Some questions/points to ponder while choosing:
-Will Ba continue his form or will Cisse start scoring?
-Fletcher the only striker for SUN but do they give him enough service?
-Ba has great players around him, but will he remain the target or will he be moved back out to LW?Open Controls
ditch Torres first, Tevez has highest ownership, I just dont mind how many points he has got everyweek
Open ControlsTorres > Fletcher / Lambert
Cuellar > BainesOpen Controls
It appears Tevez vs Aguero debate will surface again... Which way are ppl leaning towards?
Open ControlsNeither. So many mid priced options who are the main focus of their team's attack:
Berba
Fletcher
In terms of City attack, anyone can score really... in Fulham and Sun goals, the two above are very likely to be involved 75% + of the time.Open ControlsFletcher cannot continue with his shots/goals rate. Sooner or later there will be some regression. Just saying.
Open Controls
Just saw the United v Pool highlights, imho Liverpool play well at home, and were VERY unlucky to come out of the United+City matches with only 1pt.. think they deserved the full 6.
The main thing is that they`re conversion rate is one of the worst in the league. They can create 900 chances per game but if you can`t but the ball in the back of the net, you lose 99% of the time.Open ControlsEarly assessments please
Mignolet
Demel Baines(vc) Nelsen
Bale Hazard Cazorla Kagawa
Tevez Ba(c) Berbatov
Subs: Jussi Michu Williams Clyne
I think the smart thing for me to do is save my transfer this wk... The only thing keeping the Swansea duo is their fixtures, but one of which will need to go if I was to bring in Aguero for Tevez... Thoughts?Open ControlsThe urge to WC is getting stronger. I now have 6-9 players that I would ship out if i was to start again.
Federici
Zabaleta
Boyce
Marveaux
Graham
Torres
Cuellar?
Hughes?
Tevez?
However, non of those are that urgent, and a few of them (graham, torres) have nice fixtures coming up.
It will take a great deal of patience to work towards getting rid of all the dead wood over the next month or so. Is it worth it? Or should I just pull the trigger?
I don't think that this week will be high scoring, regardless of whether I WC or not, so I might be best holding off, and pulling the trigger on saturday? Or should I just soldior on to the international break?
Help!!Open ControlsDefinitely time to WC China mate.
You have 2-3 players more to shift than I did last week(when I WCded)Open ControlsRight, now, or wait until the weekend, or international break?
Open ControlsRight now. Already missed a couple of rises but you have plenty to catch for tomorrow!
Open Controls
China Magic. I don't know about the WC, still think you could preserve it. The key is Hughes and Fulham's good run of fixtures after this next thrashing at MCI. I notice you don't have a lot of value to work with, but your midfield looks good, Baines and Hughes good, can't you fix it with two transfers this week and a couple next. WC are so precious.
Open Controls
Fixtures don't matter for Graham and Torres. They just don't like they ever gonna score. With that lot, I'd definitely WC!
Open Controls
Can I get some opinions on my tentative plan for the next few Gw's?
Foster, Jussi
Baines, Cuellar, Demel, Gorkss, Boyce
Bale, Hazard, Michu, Morrison, Maloney
Tevez, RVP, Fletcher
GW6: Save unless Morrison is predicted to be absent for a long time, then to Nolan
GW7: Fletcher>Berb, Tevez>?
GW8:Hazard>CazorlaOpen ControlsSave regardless. You dont need to make a transfer this week.
Open ControlsFletcher to Berb look sideways at best. I too have the Tevez question thogh not entirely sold on losing him yet. Perhaps keep Fletcher and Tevez >Berb/Ba
Hazard to Cazorla smacks of knee jerk. If you had Hazard from the off and want to cash in then perhaps.Open ControlsI got in Hazard after the first GW, so I bought him at like 9.3. I was looking at Fletcher to Berb because Fletcher's fixtures get a bit hairy after GW6 and Berb's pick up a bit. My plans could change at the drop of a hat mind you

REPOST
I’m playing this game since 2007, and I just made my crazziest transfer so far.
Hazard out – Fellaini in
I’m going with Pienaar Baines and Fellaini ! Can be stupid, can be brilliant. Your views?Open ControlsWell, you are either catching the wave or about to drown. Good luck, I remember watching Fellaini's hair just bounce around midfield never scoring but just hustling. Now he has changed, using his height and moving up. and a little more aggressive.
Open Controls
I'm strongly considering ditching Hazard on my WC. I really don't like the look of his next 4 fixtures and I think Cazorla might be worth keeping until January as Arsenals run is far more favourable. Am I crazy?
Open ControlsNo. People will say yes but I say no.
I ditched RVP last week and still got 63pts without him.Open ControlsCare to elaborate? I'm not sure you do elaborating very well though I must admit...
Open Controls
Maybe, but not because you're not dropping Hazard 😉 Go for it.
Open Controls
The fact that we are persisting in playing two up front, even when one of the strikers (Dave) is off form suggests that Ba will be up front for the long haul.
Open ControlsI captained Ba and I have HBA, I gotta say I'm mightily annoyed neither took the penalty...unbelievable really. At least Cisse will never take a penalty again.
