Arsenal’s battling performance at the Etithad and a dramatic second-half turnaround at the Lane bring Gameweek 5 to a close. Our members can now let the dust settle on their Fantasy scores before gorging on all the stats from all the weekend’s matches, or just read on for the numbers that piqued our interest…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

This would be the WC I am currently looking at. Finger is very itchy!!

    Jaask, Begovic
Baines, Big Verm, Gibbs, Saylor, Demel
    Bale, Santi, Barfa, Pienaar, Ramirez/Lallana
    Tevez, Lambert, Berba

I would rotate Berba with my southampton mid. Awesome rotation. Many people don't like this idea, but I really think that it could work)
I could downgrade Big Verm, and upgrade Tevez to aguero?
I could go for 2 x 4.5m defenders, rather than saylor and demel

    Thoughts?

Not a knee jerk. Have you checked out southamptions fixtures over the next gazillion games? And how many goals they scored against man utd and city. Arsenal's only have two poor fixtures (man utd and everton away) in the next 16 games or so. I love the jaask/ begovic rotation. And the sothampton/ berba rotation. With all of the rotation in the forwards, I think big hitting defenders and solid mids is where it is at!!

Don't see the point in rotating a southampton mid with Berbatov if you already have Lambert, you're basically banking on Southampton to score well every second game...and if you buy Berbatov there is really no point in benching him. He already showed he can produce away from home.

Southampton have a long run of great fixtures. So i have no problem playing lambert every game (home and away). I expect them to be much more attacking at home, so that will bring their attacking mids into play, so where as I could play my mid in every game (and for sure i will play him in some away games with great fixttures), rotation with berba should give the optimum scoring potential.

nah, Berbatov will just score when he's on your bench and you'll regret it immediately. Southampton are going to struggle with relegation, they are going to have to grind out results, their attacking style isn't going to cut it against better teams. They will also fail to score in matches that you expect them to score highly...it's too much banking on a team that only JUST got 3 points under their belt. Lambert is enough of a punt.

I don't love doubling up on the West Ham defense but I guess Demel isn't likely to make it into your team all that much... I do think downgrading Verm to fund Aguero makes sense. Big time differential that I think has a great chance to pay off.

Hmmm. If i go for sagna or koscielny rather than big verm. I can get aguero. That could be a great idea. Especially as Mrs China Mag has Big Verm and Tevez. I might be a 5.5m place filler in there for now, to transfer to an arsenal defender when we know how they will line up long term

I can't recommend a system where you rotate Berbatov.

I'm a big advocate of playing your select front 7 every week with your bench player a reliable point returner (Puncheon, Guthrie, Sterling) for points in case of emergency.

Defense, likewise. The fact you're benching two every week and the value of Demel means two 4.0s is practically a must and preferably a cheap-decent 3rd.

In terms of attacking power, I'd worry about your captaincy options in that team. I wouldn't feel too confident having to choose between Bale and Santi every week for captain, especially if Tevez' starts become unpredictable. RVP for that reason alone is worth it for me.

I wouldn't rotate Berba. He's know to go 5 games without scoring and then getting a hat-trick. You never know when he's gonna explode, so you don't want to bench him when he does. I like Ramirez but I don't think Soton warrant a double up yet. I would get Ba instead of Lambert, but then you have Barfa.

In general I like it. Your rotation strategy isn't particularly sound though. It would be better to bench the player with the worst fixture out of your front 8 bar the big hitters such as Tevez, Caz and Bale. Thats generally how big 8's work.

Alternatively I would also suggest that two Saints attackers may be overkill. Hence the opportunity remains to have a super cheap 5th mid.

Yash, well I tied you with a big, ZERO for Y. Singh. I am too new to know the nicknames yet, . Do you think the MOTM,, H. Singh will bowl in another match. Not sure his nickname-- I am an American and don't want to repeat the one I saw by the Official BBC guy-- along the lines of Terminator. LOL.

Every possibility after that brilliant performance. With Ashwin also in the reckoning, I think it all depends on the pitch and other conditions. But I surely believe he's a much better spinner than Ashwin, when in good nick! Care to respond to my post below??

                That's funny,

I wasted one transfer a day or so ago. Must have got in Mendis (the allrounder) about one minute after the "silent" deadline, not like FPL with it's shutdown. Lost 27 points. that was the rain delay game.

    Jaaskelainen (begovic)

A Cole, Reid, Rafael (Jenkinson, Clyne)

    Kawaga, Hazard, Yaya, Pienaar (Duff)

    Fletcher, Tevez, Torres

Can I get a quick poll out of this DZ crew. I've been bleeding for weeks not having Baines & have to get some EVE cover in. Petric is the bother also. So which of the following combinations would you prefer going into this gameweek.

    A. Mirallas & Clyne/Hangerland (Not much in way of Clean sheet this week)

    B. Baines & Puncheon (Play vs each other)

    C. Baines & Anichebe (-4 Couple of weeks only for Anic)

    D. Mirallas & Jags/Gibbs (-4)

    Thanks for any replies.

Well, if you NOW have two free, you should use one, other wise you are just wasting it. You can't get three transfers. You are in a good position with always having two free, like a bank account for when you have to adjust for injury or for the Tevez situation.

So, I don't know enuf about Cuellar to make a suggestion, but to me he is your weakest player. I would strengthen his position. Fulham has a good set of games AFTER the mauling by MCI this weekend. Just pick a defender who will NOT decline in value and who plays every week.

Yash, I just don't know enuf about that trade, I like Pienaar a lot, but Nelsen is older now and on a poor defensive team. At 3.9 , he's a bargain, but I think you need a stronger third defender than Demel. I don't know much about Snodgrass except he was highly regarded in an article here a week or two ago. ... so I don't know if Pienaar makes up the difference in that combination. Below, I talked about a stronger 3rd Defender. I now see you already have McAuley.

I'd go bigger, more fundamental. Downgrade tevez to berbs (or FW of your choice), and upgrade Dyer to Cazorla.

But that's admittedly quite risky. The Piennaar move is a decent short term option, but you can't go too long with double MF from the same team (*its what got you into this situation)

It happened the same to me with Fellaini last night. I didn't press "confirm transfers" ,

DDH is now 5.8 and Foster will probably rise again before next weekend.

Mine is on RVP atm. United usually do very well against Spurs at home, RVP is great albeit his form isnt all that good (i know hes got 5 goals but he hasnt been too much involved imo). Also looking seriously into Fellaini. Soton will surely concede and Fellaini is rarely far away when that happens. Dont really see alot of others, maybe HBA..

I'd play Williams against Stoke; there won't be a lot of goals in that game.

Theyre at home against a shaky Swans back line. Id put any amount down that Stoke will score anytime..

Swansea defence may be shaky, but Chicho will be back, and who in the name is going to score for Stoke? They have no pattern, no good offensive players. Fricking rugby side. I physically hate their brand of football.
