Arsenal’s battling performance at the Etithad and a dramatic second-half turnaround at the Lane bring Gameweek 5 to a close. Our members can now let the dust settle on their Fantasy scores before gorging on all the stats from all the weekend’s matches, or just read on for the numbers that piqued our interest…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hazard + Snodgrass > Pienaar + HBA?? Might be too early to decide on Hazard but thats the only way i can get both EVE and Newcastle cover which i lack! Worth it??

I'm contemplating Hazard to Pienaar as well. Chelsea only have one good fxture (NOR) for a while and Everton's form and fixtures cannot be ignored.

Might be such a bad thing. Haven't checked CHE fixtures really, but i might do Michu > Oscar if he keeps his place.

I have seriously been considering getting HBA in for Hazard myself. Your second need, that is to get Everton cover, makes it worthwhile imo.

Pienaar of Fellaini?? since i can afford both.

Its a hard call but I think Fellaini is in the more essential bracket at this stage. Its short term perhaps but I think he has become a key tool for Moyes at the moment that even when Jelly comes back he will probably stay in the CAM role.

Is getting Kompany on a WC a bad move? I just feel there will be such stress-free times knowing he will definitely start and Man City will ultimately keep at least 10 CS = 60 points

I disagree. Theyve been somewhat unlucky to concede as much as they have this year, Mancini will definitely look to tighen up that ship. He`s the only rotation-immune player in that back 4, and he has goal threat. Obviously i would rather have Baines too, but if youre looking to invest alot in your defence, hes not a bad shout at all.

Not really, no. Ties up too many funds.

Proven year after year that 1 big hitter and 4 cheapies is the best strategy in the back.

Is it really? I disagree, obviously. I certainly think you can have two expensive ones and 3 cheap rotating ones. Dont think my defence costs that much more than what youre advocating either.

Hes clearly Everton`s most influential player. That said, theyre going against a team that`s scored two or more in 3 of 5 games thus far, against some good teams as well. Im well adversed to captaining defenders as well, its just so risky.

I feel a bit of regret that I wildcarded last night, I was on 11 points and I panicked. Obviously really relieved I got so many points on the Sunday but I wonder whether I would have bothered wildcarding if I'd known I would have a decent gameweek. In the end I actually had my highest ranking GW so far bizarrely/ironically.

The reason I'm feeling a tad regretful is the core of my team is staying much the same. I'm just allowing myself money to get the likes Cazorla/RVP/Aguero and let myself revamp my defence for the next 10/15 GW's. I would have had to take a few 8 point hits otherwise and it would have got ugly.

Can anyone reassure me I've done the right thing? Team linked... 🙁

Indeed. Honestly I think your team was in a worse state than mine when I wildcarded last week. Whats the point in waiting till your team gets worse. There can be nothing worse than 7 or so deadwood players surely

Baines and Pienaar is ok because one of them is a defender. The problem arises when you get two attackers in the same team. It is risky if they have an off day on attack.

The other think with having Fellaini and Pienaar is surely you would need Baines as well with the form he is in. Tripling up is just over the top.

Baines is just exceptional. Most crosses and key passes in the league, and hes left back. He`s really looking indispensible at this point, and i would have him if i could.

he used to get red cards as when playin deep he was forced to make tackles and defend.. playin in the CAM role all he has to do is attack. no coincidence the reds have stopped.. His role in the hole cannot be ignored.. like an underpriced cahill in his best years 🙂

He's still seeing yellows. But the fact that you'll end up with both Pienaar and Fellaini filling 2 out of the possible 5 invaluable spots makes me worry. HBA and Ba is a totally different scenario as Ba is a forward!

I'm planning to WC in GW 9. Considering the strength of my current team, I reckon the degradation will hit rock bottom in GW 9, and then I can draft the Newcastle, Stoke and form players in.

Hopefully prices don't rise too much, but I'm looking at this type of line:

    Jaask, Bego
Baines, Gibbs/Sagna, S. Taylor, Demel, Clyne
Santi, Pienaar, Yaya, Ben Arfa, Puncheon
    Tevez, RVP, Berbatov

Lack of Chelsea, but hopefully Oscar cements a spot, and Yaya > Oscar will be possible.

I think Oscar is the way to go if becomes nailed on. He will get more goals than Hazard if he played every game imo. Hazard is a supreme assister like Cazorla.

The strange thing about your proposed WC team is it's very similar to the one I'm creating right this minute...things will have changed by then perhaps but I think it's a pretty solid template team right now.

In previous years Fellaini has averaged about 3/4 goals a season. He had one season where he scored 8 which was pretty good. I just don't know if he has much assists in his locker like Pienaar does. He might end up getting 2's and 1's consistently when Jelavic is back to fire them in. And Anichebe and Mirallas are worthy replacements. They don't NEED Fellaini banging them in really. But they need Pienaar's creativity with Baines as it's central to their attack. Fellaini is brilliant value while it lasts though.

For me its between Lambert and Ba. Both are capable of massive hauls whereas I doubt Fletcher has ever scored more than two goals in a game. I have a sneaky feeling Lambert will be the better option as I think he represents outstanding value. Look to get HBA in for Newcastle coverage.

Don't like the pressure that comes with it. Especially when newcastle play

Yeah I have the same problem. Especially when the likes of Hazard and Tevez should probably be sold.

Na mate. Too early to jump the gun. Made the same mistake with Bale.

Are you serious? Migs plays for a structured side that will keep many a clean sheet, and this weekend they host Wigan! Save m8, save

Atleast he offers something in return. Youre asking silly questions and then laughing at people, not really providing much for this community.

    Post-WC Team:

    Foster-Bego
    Baines-Saylor-Gallas-Hughes-Demel
    Hazard-Bale-Pienaar-Barfa-Dyer
    Tevez-Podolski-Ba

Any suggested transfers for this week??

Nah, save it. Not the best defence for this week but should still do fine.

Personally I'd shift tevez. Think he's had his nice run with aguero injured and now it's Mancini time. They've got tough champs league games so rotation will be worse than united's

Way too soon to shift Tevez. Hes started 6 games in succsession, and aganst a physical Arsenal defence he opted for Dzeko this one time. Tevez is still going to be very influental!

Cheers. Only thing I'm contemplating in bringing in Santi, but Bale and Haz have good fixtures GW7.

Due to 6 players playing less than 45 mins plus 3 spurs going to old trafford, I've pressed the button.

How about this for wc team?

    Begovic foster

    Baines rafael mcauley demel clyne

    Pienaar hazard fellaini benarfa sterling

    Lambert vanP Suare
    Notes...

Sterling has great fixtures for Lambert's bad ones
Defence may be expensive but I don't fancy many big guns up front

Maybe some Spurs cover. Bale has been good last 2 without being prolific. So maybe worth holding if you have him.

In a dilemma, I want to get Baines bt already have Howard and pienaar..
I can get Baines in since I. Have 2ft bt hesitant doubling up. The one option is to bring in Baines and get rid of Howard but not sure who. Howard is the only keeper upto 5.5 who is fixture and rotation proof. I already hav mcauly so don't want foster. Friedel might loose his place so yeah, not sure Abt the Baines decision....thoughts??

Double up imo. Baines will start every game, you'll only double up on evern's best games, and baines can score well eve when they concede. Plus they have some good fictxtures and when they do keep a cs youll be laughing
