Spurs win at Old Trafford for the first time since 1989 as Andre Villas-Boas’ side triumph in the game of the season so far. Gareth Bale is the main protagonist for the Londoners, as United’s defensive frailties are exposed yet again:

Going Up

Gareth Bale
In a Gameweek where many of the popular midfield picks failed to produce the goods, the Welshman continued his return to form with a goal and pair of assists at Old Trafford. With a home clash against Villa up next, Bale can expect to pick up plenty of interest over the next few days.

Jan Vertonghen
Having found his eye for goal in the midweek Capital One Cup win at Carlisle, Vertonghen notched his first league goal of the campaign as Andre Villas-Boas’ side won for the third Gameweek in a row. With (AVL, sot, WIG) amongst his next four fixtures, the potential for point looks good for the Belgian at both ends of the pitch.

Clint Dempsey
Picked ahead of Gylfi Sigurdsson for the role in “the hole”, the US international vindicated his manager’s decision with his first goal of the season. Dempsey – who has a mere 2% ownership in FPL – could be a real differential pick over the next few games, with a starting berth in the Spurs XI now seemingly assured.

Wayne Rooney
Sent on for Ryan Giggs after the break, Rooney was forced to take up a wider position, with Shinji Kagawa keeping the role behind Robin Van Persie. He made an immediate impact, setting up Nani for United’s first, and with a free-kick hitting the woodwork, he’s offering a real alternative to the Dutchman up top as we look to freshen up our Fantasy squads.

Going Down

United Defence
Once again, the Red Devils failed to keep out their opponents at the back. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have conceded in all but one of their six fixtures so far – with trips to Newcastle and Chelsea in the next four, in addition to a home clash against Arsenal, sales of their defenders look likely to pick up.

Robin Van Persie
Normally, an assist isn’t too bad for a day’s work. The Dutchman has still managed to produce attacking returns in all of his starts this term but with the likes of Nikica Jelavic, Luis Suarez and Demba Ba all racking up the goals earlier today, and with Rooney now back for United, many may be tempted to look for alternatives to the 13.5 priced Dutchman.

Have to admit, I really don't like the look of RVP in my team anymore.. He's certainly not the 'armband-every-week' solution he was when he played for us...

      Sold him two weeks ago.

The way I see it is: he'll score goals, he'll score lots of goals, but there's so many options for a hell of a lot cheaper that will also score lots of goals. Plus, there is always the threat of him being benched now that Rooney is back (rarely yes, but for £13m+ he needs to be absolutely nailed on), particularly for the easy home games which is exactly where you want him.

I have Carzola, Michu, Kagawa. I kept all three for week 6 hoping for redemption this week. Kagawa did better than average. Hazard continues to do his thing at 7pts or better.

Should i lose faith in Michu? what if he does me a Suarez? they are home in week 7 versus reading and Chico is back in defense. I have Torrez, Hazard, Tevez for week 7.

Both aren't value IMO. If on WC I would sell them. But its always a huge gamble to offload them for a hit.

RVP is overpriced with Rooney around now. Would rather have Kagawa or Rooney.

Overpriced doesn't matter when you get consistency. He's gone 9,15,1,6,5.

But you can spread your money around the team so much more. Like have Bale, Mata, Santi in midfield for example.

Yeah, agree, with RVP your putting all your eggs in one basket. I understood it at arsenal but not so much at mufc. Besides how much satisfaction can be had by not having a templated team

Guys, this is my current team - http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/36642/event-history/6/

    Begovic, Foster
    Gallas, S.Taylor, Demel, Hughes, Baines
    Piennar, Fellaini, Gerrard, Bale, B.Arfa
    Podolski, Tevez, Ba

As I begin to think again (the urge to knee-jerk is wearing off), I realize that
a)doubling up on Everton mid might have been a mistake, especially as I was well aware of Jelavic's potential
    b) Liverpool against Stoke is not gonna be an easy fixture at all, so knee-jerking in Suarez can be put to hold. He does have good short term fixtures though
    c) Gervinho or Caz - I'm still confused. Did Podolski do anything worth-while in the match?

Can you guys suggest any transfers?

That I'm sure it doesn't....I have slotted him for an avg of 5-6 pts, for the entire period he is not in my team(gw5-gw12). I can live with that, and it was in fact the entire philosophy my wc was based on.

He is way too overpriced, and with Rooney coming in, the points are gonna be shared, imo.

I think that is a great team. If u hold on Tevez I would use a transfer in the defense. It seems week. Other than that good team

I don't get how that defence can be considered weak.

Depending on Saylor's injury situation, I think its fine as it is. If Tevez plays midweek you could have a problem there.

Ideally, save the transfer and use 2 in GW8. Downgrade a mid to a 4.5 (an Everton mid if you're not happy with having both) and see what you can do with the money.

Having a shocking start to the season, would really appreciate some advice. Team linked.

Spurs and Bale look to be on fire. would you do
    a)Kagawa + tevez ----> bale + 9.2 st(jelly/ba)
    b)kagawa + toure -----> bale + 7.9 mid(barfa)
    c) anything else

have 1 Ft and 0.6 in the bank.

    Cheers

sorry you having a bad start to the season.

Bale is on fire so if you can afford keep him for next week. Spurs are home against Aston Villa. Bale i surely to start.

Man U will be away to currently in form New Castle United. However, they are coming off a loss. I would suggest keeping Kagawa. He will give you an assist and occasional goal and around 5 to 9 points.

Man city is playing home to Sunderland. I suggest playing tevez but watch for how he plays midweek in Champions.

      Bale, Kagawa, Tevez,

Demba Ba will be home to against Man U and with a weak defense and porous defense Ba is in form and will get his points.

Go with Bale, Kagawa, Ba.....and watch for Tevez....

      hope it helps...
