Spurs win at Old Trafford for the first time since 1989 as Andre Villas-Boas’ side triumph in the game of the season so far. Gareth Bale is the main protagonist for the Londoners, as United’s defensive frailties are exposed yet again:

Going Up

Gareth Bale
In a Gameweek where many of the popular midfield picks failed to produce the goods, the Welshman continued his return to form with a goal and pair of assists at Old Trafford. With a home clash against Villa up next, Bale can expect to pick up plenty of interest over the next few days.

Jan Vertonghen
Having found his eye for goal in the midweek Capital One Cup win at Carlisle, Vertonghen notched his first league goal of the campaign as Andre Villas-Boas’ side won for the third Gameweek in a row. With (AVL, sot, WIG) amongst his next four fixtures, the potential for point looks good for the Belgian at both ends of the pitch.

Clint Dempsey
Picked ahead of Gylfi Sigurdsson for the role in “the hole”, the US international vindicated his manager’s decision with his first goal of the season. Dempsey – who has a mere 2% ownership in FPL – could be a real differential pick over the next few games, with a starting berth in the Spurs XI now seemingly assured.

Wayne Rooney
Sent on for Ryan Giggs after the break, Rooney was forced to take up a wider position, with Shinji Kagawa keeping the role behind Robin Van Persie. He made an immediate impact, setting up Nani for United’s first, and with a free-kick hitting the woodwork, he’s offering a real alternative to the Dutchman up top as we look to freshen up our Fantasy squads.

Going Down

United Defence
Once again, the Red Devils failed to keep out their opponents at the back. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have conceded in all but one of their six fixtures so far – with trips to Newcastle and Chelsea in the next four, in addition to a home clash against Arsenal, sales of their defenders look likely to pick up.

Robin Van Persie
Normally, an assist isn’t too bad for a day’s work. The Dutchman has still managed to produce attacking returns in all of his starts this term but with the likes of Nikica Jelavic, Luis Suarez and Demba Ba all racking up the goals earlier today, and with Rooney now back for United, many may be tempted to look for alternatives to the 13.5 priced Dutchman.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Hard to say as an Arsenal fan, but I really don't think any of our players are very worthwhile FPL wise at the moment.

We've got no out and out striker scoring goals (Gervinho is way too clumsy) and no OOP mid scoring big points like Walcott and Arhavin have in the last couple of seasons.

I have Podolski still but don't see him being worth the price in the long run...

The only two players at all worth having imo are Gibbs and Jenko if you got in and got them cheaply!

Excellent player, but doesn't really bring the points home in FF terms like say Bale for example. Teams are getting hip to him as well, today Chelsea really tried to do a job on him every time he came close to the ball. They know that if you stop him, Arsenal will find it difficult. Mind you, fixtures are looking up so all this could change.

I have Cazorla + Podolski, and I had Vermaelen up til this week. TBH faith in them has put me at the top of my mini-leagues, so I'll certainly be sticking with them for wham and NOR - and probably beyond.

podolski doesn't convince me, cazorla looks like an assist merchant (2 shots on target in the area in 6 matches), gervinho could be dropped any game, giroud isn't in yet, walcott likewise. it's tricky.
i'd say right now just gibbs

This is why I sold Pod for Berba last week and now Ba this week. Been far from disappointed. We dont have a solid winger playing every week (Gerv is the closest to), Theo was the main winger last season, now Theo, Gerv and Ox alternate. FF nightmare.

Yeah. Way I saw it, I was always gonna take a punt on an Everton player and Baines offers almost the same returns as Pienaar but also has possible cleanies in his locker. I thought, if Everton concede early, it merely levels the playing field.

What I should have done, of course, is captain RVP.

What I should have done is captained Jelavic after I brought him in for Tevez, at least that came off I worried when I saw Tevez was starting and I had an injured Berbatov in my team, still wouldn't have had the funds to do Berba- Jelly so glad I took Tevez out

As Arsenal's fixtures improve, whom are you considering from Arsenal?

These are my likely candidates whom I plan to have, already have Podolski but very unsure about him atm.....

    a) 1 defender - Gibbs/Sagna/Verm
    b) Podolski
    c) Gervinho/Caz

No, not a chance IMO. It just never happens. Injury to Jelavic or Fellaini or Baines or Jagielka and they are a tad jiggered.
Great chance of pushing Arsenal/Spurs/Newcastle for 4th though.

no- as with all promising teams with lower funds they are not deep enough. Like Newcastle last year- if they have even 1 or 2 injuries to key players they will be out of it. CL spot is possible though.

They'll push Spurs, and hopefully for Spurs that means they'll be in the mix for 4th place, probably with Le Arse as well. Don't think Newcastle will replicate the remarkable run of last season. So yeah, I'd guess 6th for Everton.

Tevez -> Suarez, looks like a wise choice

    1. Price rise/fall favourites Suarez. this week Tevez -0.1 or -0.2, Suarez easily +0.2. After GW8 there will be no price difference.
    2. Current form: Suarez looks so much sharper
    3. Suarez has no real competition within his team = no rotation risk

He scored one goal with his hand. Suarez, while a very good footballer, is an utter twat.

I'm not sure what move to make but will need to make it today I think.

    Either Michu - Bale

    or Matt Taylor to Gerviniho

    What you think?
