Spurs win at Old Trafford for the first time since 1989 as Andre Villas-Boasโ€™ side triumph in the game of the season so far. Gareth Bale is the main protagonist for the Londoners, as Unitedโ€™s defensive frailties are exposed yet again:

Going Up

Gareth Bale
In a Gameweek where many of the popular midfield picks failed to produce the goods, the Welshman continued his return to form with a goal and pair of assists at Old Trafford. With a home clash against Villa up next, Bale can expect to pick up plenty of interest over the next few days.

Jan Vertonghen
Having found his eye for goal in the midweek Capital One Cup win at Carlisle, Vertonghen notched his first league goal of the campaign as Andre Villas-Boasโ€™ side won for the third Gameweek in a row. With (AVL, sot, WIG) amongst his next four fixtures, the potential for point looks good for the Belgian at both ends of the pitch.

Clint Dempsey
Picked ahead of Gylfi Sigurdsson for the role in โ€œthe holeโ€, the US international vindicated his managerโ€™s decision with his first goal of the season. Dempsey – who has a mere 2% ownership in FPL โ€“ could be a real differential pick over the next few games, with a starting berth in the Spurs XI now seemingly assured.

Wayne Rooney
Sent on for Ryan Giggs after the break, Rooney was forced to take up a wider position, with Shinji Kagawa keeping the role behind Robin Van Persie. He made an immediate impact, setting up Nani for Unitedโ€™s first, and with a free-kick hitting the woodwork, heโ€™s offering a real alternative to the Dutchman up top as we look to freshen up our Fantasy squads.

Going Down

United Defence
Once again, the Red Devils failed to keep out their opponents at the back. Sir Alex Fergusonโ€™s side have conceded in all but one of their six fixtures so far โ€“ with trips to Newcastle and Chelsea in the next four, in addition to a home clash against Arsenal, sales of their defenders look likely to pick up.

Robin Van Persie
Normally, an assist isnโ€™t too bad for a dayโ€™s work. The Dutchman has still managed to produce attacking returns in all of his starts this term but with the likes of Nikica Jelavic, Luis Suarez and Demba Ba all racking up the goals earlier today, and with Rooney now back for United, many may be tempted to look for alternatives to the 13.5 priced Dutchman.

    Tevez->Bucktooth

    GW7: Foster
    Baines, Gallas, Demel
    Hazard, Bale, Dyer, Pienaar/Barfa
    Suarez, Podolski, Ba

    Leaves me with 2FT after the INT Break..

    Who to start Pienaar(wig) or Barfa(MU)??

    Thoughts on whether I should keep faith with Tevez and Graham over the next few weeks? I've already missed the Suarez/Jelavic points, so would it be purely point-chasing if I do Tevez out for Suarez/Jelavic?

      For Graham, the next 2 fixtures could bring good returns, but im afraid that Swansea have just lost their initial swagger. that being said if you have to take a hit to change him then dont.
      As for Tevez, possibly wait until after the international break, which he wont take part in and will be rested, or put on extra weight again just to tick off Mancini ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Need to take out Federici...

    Am thinking of getting in Mannone who has WHU, NOR and QPR next

    Already have Jussi and was thinking about Begovic but Bego has LIV, MNU and SUN next...

    Any other suggestions for 4.5 keepers...

    I have 2xFT and this is my team:
    Foster
    Cole Rangel Zabaleta
    Hazard, Toure McClean, Maloney
    Fletcher Tevez RVP
    Subs: Federichi, Noble, Hangeland, Cuellar
    0M in the bank

    I'm considering:
    a)RVP->Suarez and Yaya to Bale
    b)Zaba->Demel (or another cheapie) and Yaya to Bale
    c) Tevez->Jelly/Ba and Yaya to Bale
    d)Tevez -> Suarez and Zaba->Demel (or another cheapie)

    What do you think?

    How does this look for a WC?

    Jussi, Mignolet
    Baines, Gibbs, Hughes, Demel, Clyne
    Bale, Cazorla, HBA, Pienaar, Mikel
    Aguero, Suarez, Ba

      Aguero will probably play against Dortmund mid week and maybe rotated for next week... He is also called up by Argentina for WC qualifiers and chances of injury or fatigue is high.

      avoid manchester strikers for the time being. too much rotation! aguero to fletcher or lambert
      then you can upgrade mikel and clyne. perhaps take a punt on walters? and get a west brom defender for clyne

    If, like me, you are always looking to save a few bob, then you might want to consider the following;

    Begovic has two tough fixtures then nothing that would exactly cause you sleepless night until at least the January transfer window (up to GW 18 or even 21 arguably). Reading and Southampton, who now seem to be both be starting 4.0 goalkeepers, also have pretty good fixtures in that time.

    Neither rotate particularly well with Stoke, but then your odds of keeping a clean sheet are actually pretty low (14% on average last season, even the best teams, at home, only achieved 53%). Given that goalkeepers contribute little beyond CS points except for save points and penalty saves (both of which are more likely to be accrued away), you might as well pick Begovic + 4.0 and run with him. If, like me, you have him rotating with Jaask, you can easily cover West Ham for less with Demel - who will contribute more going forwards.

    This might not exactly rock anybody's world here but, an 8.5 keeper system is potentially pretty efficient. And the extra 0.5 will actually make a significant difference to my team.

    Enjoy.
