Last week’s big treble didn’t quite pay off as we fell shy of the target on two legs out of the three. The £100 payout seemed good value as free-scoring Everton netted three and a besieging United bagged two but, alas there were no quails eggs and Champagne for us; we’ll just have to settle for a can of Stella and a Ginsters instead. Or maybe a couple of cans, as, true to our word, last week’s banker came good and put some cash back in our pocket. Steven Fletcher netted again, maintaining his record as Sunderland’s only scorer, winning us our stake money back with a quid to spare. Still in profit, then, let’s see what Paddy have for us this week…

League leaders Chelsea have looked a step above the rest ever since taking home the Champions League trophy at the end of last season. Fernando Torres is doing just enough up front, new boys Oscar and Victor Moses have shown glimpses of potential to justify their lofty price tags, and future world-beater Eden Hazard has racked up six assists in as many games. Okay, so the Belgian has gone off the boil but, with Norwich at the Bridge, fresh from a Carrow Road spanking at the hands of Liverpool, we fancy Hazard to enjoy a renaissance. Paddy are offering 5/2 on a Hazard goal with a Chelsea clean sheet and we’re staking our first £4 on this.

Gareth Bale was a little slow to settle amongst the new summer signings at The Lane, barely making a mark on the first three games. Since then he’s netted twice, forged three assists and helped himself to three Fantasy Premier League maximum bonus hauls in a row. With a favourable home fixture against visiting Aston Villa, a Bale goal with a Spurs cleanie at 4/1 is a worthy shout, and we’re willing to wager a couple of quid.

Swansea have been quite the opposite from Spurs, with goals and glory early on in their campaign, but have since suffered three straight losses leading up to their Liberty Stadium bout against Reading. Michu was pivotal to their early success and will be looking to reopen his goalscoring account again on Saturday. Having netted four quickfire goals to attract early Fantasy investment, Paddy’s price of 9/2 on a Michu goal and Swansea cleanie seems a worthy punt. £2 on brings us back the same return as last weeks banker.

Our Goal-Assist-Cleanie treble this week is a shade shorter than our last effort, but the probability is much more in our favour. Robin Van Persie features again to make a mark in his trip to Newcastle, alongside Eden Hazard to gain an assist against Norwich and title holders Man City to keep their first clean-sheet of the season against the Black Cats. Van Persie might well be the Achilles heel here again, with Newcastle having won to nil once at the Sports Direct Arena so far this season already. This treble is offered at 15/2 and might not be tempting enough for some, but with £1 to spare we’re gonna let it ride.

I've got 2 FT and will obviously lose one if I don't make a change - anyone any suggestions I'd like to see how Tevez does today and thinking maybe Yaya to Bale?

Maybe Demel out for someone so I'm not doubling on WestHam defence

No Spurs cover at all right now and it's going to need the departure of RVP and 8pt hit or a wildcard to get Bale.

I've played my FT to ship in Mata, so anything else would mean a hit.
Procrastinated and got caught up with work and seen everyone rise this week whilst a couple of mine have fallen (don't understand the Tevez drops at all), usually make my trades on the Saturday night - good lesson!

Was looking at Bale and Torres for RVP and Duff but that's out now (unless I sacrifice Felliani or wc due to dithering). Almost certainly going to wildcard tonight to bring my team back inline and regain some lost cash.

Can see Chelsea knocking in a hatful vs Norwich today (if Suarez can get a hat-trick, then Torres has to be able to notch a couple!) plus you've got to fancy Bale to get something vs a woeful Villa. Then again I can't see Newcastle keeping RVP out and Duff could easily be in the goals at Southampton.

    So, question, should I
    a) I take the hit to get in Bale
    b) take a 4pt hit to bring in Lambert for Berbatov (I had an inkling the latter would be fit for today, but looks unlikely now)
    c) just leave well alone and not take any hits and suck it up before the wildcard

My question to you would be why did you get Mata in with the run of games he's got.

      But I would stick.

I'm starting to try and play form over fixtures and I can see Mata taking the games by storm.
Although considering I need Chelsea and Spurs cover it was a random decision in hindsight.
Ideally wanted Bale+Torres but I procrastinated on that one.

Whoa an opus. I also brought in Mata although it is certainly a risk with his fixtures after today. I am on the whole against an 8 point hit. RVP could well have a good day as will Bale so I would take one hit for him.

Transfered Michu out last week. Fingers crossed we're right to do so.

    Morning folks,

Could really do with your input as I have 2 FTs and have to make a transfer to stop it going to waste.

    My options are:

Guthrie > Sterling - I won't play Sterling this week but it seems a sound move in the long-term as I'm sure he'll justify the extra money over Guthrie.

Saylor > Simpson - With Cuellar and Simpson both having bad fixtures and being injured, saving 0.2m to bring Simspon in is a sideways move. Wouldn't solve my problem of having to play Gorkss away against Swansea.

Gorkss > Davies - Not sure Davies is even nailed on but a home game against Reading is surely the best replacement I can get for Gorkss this week.

    Other? Here's my team:

    Bego Juusi
    Cuellar Baines Hangeland SAYLOR GORKSS
    Bale Caz Pie Michu GUTHRIE
    Tevez (keeping!) RVP Lambert

    Thanks!

Would you be more surprised if Juusi kept a clean sheet against Arsenal or if Bego kept a clean sheet against Liverpool?

I've got Bego at the moment but it's probably the choice between 1-3 points and 1-3 points.

Who to captain? Mata (Norwich - Home), Gervinho (West Ham - Away), Michu (Reading - Home), Pienaar (Wigan - Away), Aguero (Sunderland - Home), RVP, (Newcastle - Away) or Fletcher (City - Away).
