The first potential casualty of the international break has emerged, with Man City’s David Silva suffering an injury that forced him after just 13 minutes of Spain’s World Cup qualifier with France tonight.

Reports on the injury are, predictably, sketchy at this time with claims that Silva may have suffered a problem with his knee or hamstring. However, the Daily Mail’s Ian Ladyman has since tweeted that it’s Silva’s ankle that has taken the blow – an area which has haunted Silva: the player previously confessing that he has played with an ankle problem for several seasons.

City are now reporting the injury, suggesting a hamstring problem and stating that the player will be examined on his return to Manchester. At that point we should be clearer on the situation and whether Silva will be a doubt for the trip to West Brom on Saturday.

Roberto Mancini will be hugely concerned given that he has a host of players due to return for assessment prior to the weekend, including Sergio Aguero who will turn out for Argentina in Chile in the early hours of this morning. His worries will also include several of England’s lineup who look set to face Poland tomorrow evening after tonight’s postponement in Warsaw.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Way too much in defence... I think you need to downgrade one of Ivanovic/Vermaelen (probably Ivanovic with those fixtures) and use that money to get another big hitter in midfield...

You could play this Michu this week and then do that transfer next week, as you probably won't want him after this week anyway...

That's my thoughts on michu only one more week ... Then want to bring in yaya....

My thoughts on the defence is its long term ... They def all there goin to be hittin high scores at the end of the season .... Unless someone changes my thoughts ....

Want Rvp but the price tag is just not worth it does not justify it ...

Too many big hitters in defence. Downgrade verm to mertesacker (can become sagna when fit and ivan to rafael then upgrade tevez to aguero and michu to bale.

    Foster / Beg
    Baines / Cuellar / Davies / Demel / GJ
    Michu / Hazard / McClean / Morrison / Guthrie
    Suarez / RVP / Fletcher

    1m in bank. 1 FT

Planning to stay calm this week since i can field a decent side… (picking btw demel morrison or hazard for last spot, benching guthrie and 2)

ADVISE! GJ and McClean out —> best 2 option to come in!! (6.3+6.4+1) for those 2 position…

    Thanks!!!

i want to... but i only have 1 transfer this wk donno who to do to get arsenal unless i follow below and do a hazard for cazolaa...

i would keep GJ for this wk though.. since the fixture is nice + avoid hit... then prolly get rid of him later nxt wk with maybe plus a hit...

        any suggestion?

manutd fixture really scare me... i originally wanted more big hitter in midfield or some mancity coverage (suarez to aguero)

stoke newcastle option due to fixture??

you already have rvp so you should be good for united fixtures. for man city i honestly don't see any good options. silva injured, nasri not sure but could easily be rotated, yaya plays too far back, forwards could easily be rotated

get cazorla for good fixtures and cuz he's quality and rafa gives you another united player and he attacks well and can also get you cs's

don't bother with stoke. you can get hba or ba in next week if you really want newcastle coverage

            is rafa any rotation risk?

i really like the idea of cazorla but should it come from hazard or should i do GJ + McClean/Michu/Morrison -- > Caz + uber def

i don't like hazard fixture though not gonna lie... but still wanna keep him as insurance as everyone in ML have him...

from a fantasy sense, kinda glad about the silva injury. means i don't have to worry about possibly wanting him but not getting him. plus it means his price should keep falling! hopefully it wasn't too bad though

I was going to take Yaya out for Cazorla with Silva finding form, but now i'm having second thoughts.. Yaya playing forward with Tevez and Aguero off him must result in points, plus my opponents have Cazorla and not Yaya.. Whats the play?

But I just don't see it happening.

Bent could be a great cut-price signing in January for depth.

i'll most likely get it wrong a good deal. but it makes me more confident if i have a player rested or something because i'll be more than happy with their replacement off the bench. plus if someone is injured for just a week or two i can hold on as i have a full squad i'd be happy playing

though yes it will be a pain to pick the squad each week. its a strategy i feel like trying out this season though.

it's just i feel like berb could make me regret not having him a lot more than fletcher. I see berb more of a bale type player (explosive returns and then blanks) whereas fletcher more like silva if that makes any sense.

If that ankle problem's on his right leg he can just man up and play - its just to stand on anyways. But I can't think of someone who was so obviously one footed, yet it doesn't really matter at all. 🙂

Filled with renewed enthusiasm for Alex Kackiniklic after his performance last night. I had been casting my eye about at people like Sterling, but I'd like to keep AK now. He's still the most exciting midfielder in that bracket IMO - the only worry is minutes. Maybe he'll benefit from the opposite of 'rotation in the easy games' that you worry about with big guns at big clubs. Giving him a bit longer anyway.

i've got him too Limpar. Problem is i can never be sure he'll start, therefore i can never play him...! With Ruiz, Petric, Roddy, Richardson all to fit in - it seems it'll be a bit of a lottery.

      Makes it very hard.

Also means i'll prob bring in Berba for Ba this week -so as to (hopefully) guarantee a starter...

Thing is he's still managed minutes in every game so far, even with all that competition. Interesting to see how Jol includes everyone (Petric + Berbatov esp.). He's really good player - so I'm going to keep him (without starting him) until it becomes clearer what his minutes will be like every minute.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I fancy a conundrum about including e.g. Sterling every week!

I'd want a plan to get Aguero in the next week. So, assuming Fellaini is confirmed out, I'd be tempted to downgrade to Kebe to free up funds to then go Defoe --> Aguero next week.

If you're not keen on that, of the above other options, I'd do A

Hmm depends on Ucl but Ajax Weds Swansea Sat. I may just avoid City.....at my peril!

I suppose, at least the above gives you the option. I think, generally a 5th, cheap mid is a good option and means you don't have a benching-problem each week. Would also enable you to upgrade Michu to whoever you wanted, if you so wished. Agree City is bit of a minefield.

Could always save the transfer, then ditch Michu & Defoe next week to give a bit more flexibility?
