Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland have four home games and five matches in the next four Gameweeks. It’s a scenario that screams investment and yet Fantasy managers are still showing caution, not least because, in terms of attacking output, the Black Cats have proven particularly ineffectual.

While their defensive assets, notably Simon Mignolet and Carlos Cuellar, look obvious routes, in attacking quarters our sights seem somewhat limited. Striker Steven Fletcher leads the line as a lone striker and has more than justified the fee O’Neill laid down for his services – six goals in 10 starts have kept Sunderland afloat and singled out Fletcher as the key target for those contemplating coverage of Sunderland’s attacking output.

With competition for places in our forward lines so fierce, however, it’s prudent to delve further; to investigate O’Neill’s squad and assess whether there will be another name to emerge as a force over the forthcoming run of favourable fixtures.

In this latest article for members, we analyse the data for Sunderland’s squad over the season so far, assess the protagonists and the recent improvement that has harvested four goals in their last two outings.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yeah Lloris has been great, still annoyed we didn't go for him. Amazing how our teams have been soo easily outplayed by what are classed here in England as 'inferior' sides. Looking at Dortmund, that is how English teams were in Europe a few years back.

so big trouble on the horizon with Walcott injured i'll have to field this starting 11
    Bego
    Sagna, Gorkss, Rafael, Cameron
    Bale, Mata, Sterling
    RVP, Ba, Tevez

    Jaask, Walcott, Fellaini, Demel

my question is would you take a -8 point hit to Walcott-->Silva and Tevez-->Giroud and save 0,4, giving me a decent team to field this week and also with rises on a closer future...

Was planning on doing Fellini to lallana this week and then nasri to silva and Berba to giroud next week 4 a hit.
But silva is going up tonight so I won't be able to do it next week. Bearing in mind I'm still in the cup and there's a break next week, what should I do?

my gut says demel will play, he's been getting mins on pitch last couple of games, which sounds to me like he's been eased back in. generally an unusual substitution to sub right back for right back.

then again my gut is an idiot and may be wrong here.

With Enrique being rested tonighti think I have made my mind up regarding transfers...

    Valencia to Silva
    Vermaelen to Enrique

Then next week depending on how Jelavic and Giroud get on this week

    Jelavic to Giroud

All sound good? Vermaelen has been a waste of 7m so I'm fine with getting Enrique in even though they are away in Wales. Any advice?

Hi All this is my first post.
I have 2 transfers to use this week and 0.2m in the bank
i was thinking of taking a bit of a gamble on selling some high scoring midfield players i have who I predict will slip a little due to the next few difficult fixtures they've got coming up.
my idea was to sell Fellani and Michu and buy Silva and Dyer!
my other thought was to work towards installing a few Sunderland players with the double week coming up in 3 gameweeks so I was going to take a different equally huge gamble and sell Berbetov and buy Fletcher. Berbs has 4 or 5 difficult fixtures coming up and Fletcher has 4 home fixtures in the next 5 and there all against average teams except for the Chelsea game which is part of the double week.

so any advice with which option I should go for ??

    1. SELL Fellini and Michu BUY Silva and Dyer
    2. SELL Berbetov and BUY Fletcher and save 1 transfer for next week.
    3. simply keep Fellini Michu and Berbertov without using a transfer.

I look forward to your thoughts.

    thanks guys

    Si

      Welcome to FFS!

I prefer option 2 of those 3, purely because Fellaini and MIchu are playing OOP (out of position - favourably (as opposed to POO - out of position in reverse!)). They're a bargain price for a midfielder playing up with a striker.

I've almost made my mind up now to go with option 2 although i'll want Berbatov back after the double game week for Fletcher. i'm in the top 15,000 so if it does back fire it wont be too bad 😉

        thanks for your help guys

personally i think anyone selling fellaini is crazy, he'll be a danger vs anybody. i'd also argue that berbatov with bad fixtures is better option than fletcher with good ones, tho many here might argue that point. i'd lean to option 3, though i like silva as an option

I know what you mean about Fellaini its frustrating that he's suspended at home to Norwich and then he has them 3 hard fixtures. I'm sort of expecting him not to do much for the next few matches and hopefully he'll go down in value so I can then buy him back before the more favorable fixtures start. I'm happy with my team at the min though apart from the few difficult fixtures.

        My current team is

        Mignotet, Begovic

        Rafael, Enrique, Cuella, Wisdom, Shawcross

        Hazard, Michu, Fellaini, Sterling, Bale

        Van Persie, Tevez, Berbatov

0.2m in the bank remaining 🙂
