A couple of midfield protagonists are set to sit on the sidelines after accruing their fifth booking of the season last weekend. Paul Scholes and Mark Noble will both miss out as West Ham travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening, with the latter’s absence particularly sore for his side, given he has started every league game so far for the Hammers.

The tightrope welcomes two new contenders after the weekend’s round of matches. Cheick Tiote may have been injured for much of the season but his penchant for picking up yellows remains unquenched – the Ivorian’s caution at St Mary’s yesterday take his tally to four yellows in all competitions ahead of Newcastle’s trip to Stoke on Wednesday. Wigan’s James McArthur fell foul of the ref in his side’s 3-2 win over Reading on Saturday and now balances precariously as the Latics prepare to welcome City to the DW.

Luis Suarez and Michu continue to avoid that fifth yellow which would earn them an automatic ban. With three strong home games in the next five, Suarez looks primed for significant Fantasy attention once again; his owners will be crossing their fingers he stays out of the ref’s notebook against Spurs on Wednesday, bearing in mind he then plays host to Southampton at the weekend.

Those players on four yellows have until New Year until the five-card amnesty kicks in. Basically, if they can avoid another booking in this calendar year, they will then be exempt from the customary one-match ban and receive no more than a warning regarding their future conduct. The limit then moves to 10 yellows, which would earn the guilty party a two-match ban. Most culpable so far are Ahmed El Ahmadi, Craig Gardner and Angel Rangel, who lead the way on six yellow cards apiece.

Having served out a one-match ban in Everton’s draw with Norwich, Marouane Fellaini is available for selection as the Toffees host Arsenal, while Fabricio Coloccini will be welcomed back by Alan Pardew as injury-hit Newcastle make their way to Stoke.

Brede Hangeland and Emmanuel Adebayor are both set to skip the second match of their respective three-game bans this midweek.

So I've brought in Suarez and Sess for Ba and Hazard using my 2 FTs. Preparing for the DGW, I now have Gorkss and Sess. Might bring in Cuellar as well but do I need more than this? Reading and Sunderland not exactly brimming with fantasy gold.

Aye, I raised it as a possibility earlier as I work just off the A19. Not sure what the situation is with their drainage system after the Reading shenanigans earlier this season but if it rains all day tomorrow, it'll be an interesting one.

    Begovic/Foster

Lost on the last page - all in all how do you think United will line up with Anderson apparently starting, Hernandez pushing for a start and Valencia a doubt?

If Valencia makes it (he’s a tough cookie, wouldn’t be surprised) I see:

    A)
    —————————-RVP
    ————————–Rooney
    Young Anderson Fletcher/Carrick/Cleverley Valencia
    —————————Defence

If he doesn’t United could play the above with Young on the right and Powell/Giggs on the left though it would not be ideal. The alternative would be the return of the diamond that SAF stopped playing after a pensioner complained about it.

    B)
    —————-RVP———-Hernandez
    ———————-Rooney
    ————-Cleverley—-Anderson
    ———————–Fletcher
    ———————-Defence

I think A is better for RVP and Rooney and am hoping that’s what transpires.

Diamond is a possiblility, but I think Carrick will play this one and Fletch wont get back to backs right away, especially games so few days apart. It could also be A even if Valencia misses out, bc RVP pr Roo could play on the wing and Hernandez up front.

      Team will be:

      De Gea
      Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
      Cleverley Anderson Carrick
      Rooney
      RvP Welbeck

There’s a chance Rafael’s rested for Jones. There’s a chance we’ll see Fletcher instead of Cleverley but I doubt it.

Chicharito to come off the bench of course. Nani MIGHT be on the bench as well.

Mmmmm, plausible, though it sounds a little too certain for my liking. If Welbeck has started the last two and Chicha has just scored you can hardly justify starting him ahead of Chicha.

Carrick at the base of the diamond over Fletcher who's played back to back games looks likelier though yes.

So we're looking diamond bound then? Not good news for me having RVP and Rooney.

So i have a massive dilemma and need assistance

    Begovic
    baines rafael cueller
    michu cazorla fellaini sterling nasri
    rvp berba ba

have 2FT and 0.6m in the bank. The main issues are what to do with ba and nasri.

I can do Ba >> ??? today before Ba’s price drop. The question is to who?
-A: Ba >> Tevez? The problem is that he is rotation risk now. Shd i take the chance? this will still allow me to do nasri to sessegnon

B: Ba >> Suarez? He is on 4 yellows and am afraid of the suspension but if he doesnt get a yellow, he could explode against southampton. This move will leave me with nasri >> 6.6m mid (morrison/lallana). Also i can’t get a sland coverage with this.

C: Ba >> giroud? But then will also do cazorla and nasri >> bale/silva + sess….The problem is i take a 4 point hit with this.

D: Ba >> fletcher? This will allow me to do nasri >> bale/silva. The problem with this is then i can’t think of a way to bring in suarez if he doesnt get a yellow before the shampton game (is suarez a must have against shampton?). on paper a front 3 of berba rvp fletcher looks bad but i think it may work if my midfield is michu/fellaini/bale/sess/sterling

    Loads of confusion….leading towards C
    Thoughts?

well I am not a native speaker, so maybe that is the case. Its not like I do it on purpose, and the change of how I sound is minimal. I just kind of use different words when speaking to people on a different level of english. But I dont do it counciously. It funny, I should record myself sometimes when speaking to french people 😀

I can swap Pienaar for any mid I want. And I have Fellaini, Bale, Michu and Sterling.

Yeah that's why I've been so reluctant of letting Hazard go for weeks...because he has incredible upside. However, I'm missing out on the great opportunity that is Bale. Also missing out on Suarez....although I'm not a real life fan, he's been incredibly reliable in fantasy thus far...becoming almost essential.
