Four games kicking off. Three Derby’s taking place up and down the country. Two of them at the nice early hour of Noon GMT. While one so far invincible side finish the gameweek off with one of their new pretenders to the throne looking to make a statement of intent.

We’ve got it all today; and we’re starting with Birmingham vs. Aston Villa and Sunderland vs. Newcastle with the Dugout Discussion already opening its doors for one and all looking for their Sunday fix…

Sunderland XI: Gordon; Onuoha, Bramble, Ferdinand, Bardsley; Elmohamady, Henderson, Richardson, Malbranque; Gyan, Bent.

Newcastle XI: Harper; Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Jose Enrique; Barton, Nolan, Smith, Gutierrez; Best, Ameobi.

Sunderland welcome Nedum Onuoha back into the fray but must still see captain Lee Cattermole and Danny Welbeck on the injury list and unable to make their appearances. Newcastle may have to make do without star striker Andy Carroll this weekend but Shola Ameobi is fit enough to return to the fore and pushing Peter Lovenkrands back to the bench, Jose Enrique also recovers from the flu which previously had him on the sidelines.

Birmingham XI: Foster; Carr, Johnson, Ridgewell, Murphy; Bentley, Ferguson, Gardner, Fahey; Hleb: Derbyshire.

Aston Villa: Friedel, Clark, Dunne, Collins, Walker, Albrighton, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Downing, Carew, Agbonlahor.

Birmingham make a handful of changes as Daryl Murphy comes in for the injured Scott Dann, David Bentley makes his Blues debut with Seb Larsson, rumoured to be joining Newcastle imminently, nowhere to be seen. Matt Derbyshire is rewarded with a role leading the line in place of Cameron Jerome following his FA Cup exploits. Aston Villa meanwhile give a league debut to [potential Fantasy Premier League £4.0m bargain] Kyle Walker as well as calling Marc Albrighton and John Carew into the side once more while Ashley Young sits out suspended.

Only thing left is to wipe the sleep away from our eyes and take in six straight hours of Premier League action.

Never bench Vidic. He's United's most dangerous threat from corners. Mind you, the thinking was right - I'm expecting Spurs to score too and have benched Evra.

times like these you wish all the gameweek matches are on at the same time. then you dont have to watch a player you have benched produce the gooda after the player you have picked has flopped.

      just prolongs the agony

Using wildcard this week. My front 8 would probably look like this:

    Nani, VdV, Fabregas, Adam, N'Zogbia
    Tevez, Campbell, Rooney

I'm thinkin though with the DGW I might be able to justify wildcarding to:

    Nani, VdV, Dempsey, Adam, N'zogbia
    Tevez, Torres, Rooney

Then just taking a 4 point hit the week after to get the first group which I want longer term.

    Guilty, unorthodox.

    Your thoughts?

I haven't had Fabs up until now which is why I could do it. I would lose money on VdV and Tevez (one of whom will have to be benched) which I why I cant use them.

If he's going to be a regular in that back 4, he's be very, very good value. Definitely better than the other basement price defenders, I'd say. Even more so given the TGW.

Haha, I can feel the pessimism mate, I'm exactly the same. Rival had Bardsley today, I had Foster. Current scorelines would be too good to be true!

Villa looking quite likely at the mo, seeing a lot of the ball!

And as I typed this, Foster hit his clearance of a goal-bound Delfouneso...

        And Agbonlahor just scored.

Anyone with a knowledge of 'laying' bets offer some advice?

Odds to lay Sunderland have gone up to: 17/1 since going 1-0 down.

But if you lose there's a massive liability?

Is it different laying bets before/during games?

Yes, don't lay Sunderland now, you'll make almost nothing and risk a lot.

If you bet in-play (during the game), then the odds will be influenced by what's happened in the game so far.

        I understand that much.

If you lay before the game there's no liability? (Only your stake)

        However, during game ???
