Four games kicking off. Three Derby’s taking place up and down the country. Two of them at the nice early hour of Noon GMT. While one so far invincible side finish the gameweek off with one of their new pretenders to the throne looking to make a statement of intent.

We’ve got it all today; and we’re starting with Birmingham vs. Aston Villa and Sunderland vs. Newcastle with the Dugout Discussion already opening its doors for one and all looking for their Sunday fix…

Sunderland XI: Gordon; Onuoha, Bramble, Ferdinand, Bardsley; Elmohamady, Henderson, Richardson, Malbranque; Gyan, Bent.

Newcastle XI: Harper; Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Jose Enrique; Barton, Nolan, Smith, Gutierrez; Best, Ameobi.

Sunderland welcome Nedum Onuoha back into the fray but must still see captain Lee Cattermole and Danny Welbeck on the injury list and unable to make their appearances. Newcastle may have to make do without star striker Andy Carroll this weekend but Shola Ameobi is fit enough to return to the fore and pushing Peter Lovenkrands back to the bench, Jose Enrique also recovers from the flu which previously had him on the sidelines.

Birmingham XI: Foster; Carr, Johnson, Ridgewell, Murphy; Bentley, Ferguson, Gardner, Fahey; Hleb: Derbyshire.

Aston Villa: Friedel, Clark, Dunne, Collins, Walker, Albrighton, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Downing, Carew, Agbonlahor.

Birmingham make a handful of changes as Daryl Murphy comes in for the injured Scott Dann, David Bentley makes his Blues debut with Seb Larsson, rumoured to be joining Newcastle imminently, nowhere to be seen. Matt Derbyshire is rewarded with a role leading the line in place of Cameron Jerome following his FA Cup exploits. Aston Villa meanwhile give a league debut to [potential Fantasy Premier League £4.0m bargain] Kyle Walker as well as calling Marc Albrighton and John Carew into the side once more while Ashley Young sits out suspended.

Only thing left is to wipe the sleep away from our eyes and take in six straight hours of Premier League action.

Andy Leicester won the Premier League. Leicester. Premier League. What is this life? Follow them on Twitter

In gameweek 18 I chose Onuoha over Bardsley, thinking the former would be a safer bet for some reason. Over that period Bardsley has earned 31 points and Onuoha 10. I don't even want to think about Bent. Thought he'd be a clever differential and I've kept faith in him since gw 16 - massive dissapointment.

Now the question is whether I try to be clever again and transfer in Rooney for Tevez or go full retard and get Torres in. Bent for RVP is already as good as done.

Good derby that. Not being biased but Newcastle completely deserved to win, Sunderland were extremely poor and lacked vision, drive and any sort of ambition or fight. Not enough big game players.
Ameobi led the line well, Best was largely ineffectual. Gutierrez was really good, Nolan solid and poached his goal well. Smith was rubbish until he was fouled and injured by Richardson, Guthrie was decent as his replacement. Barton was fantastic, nailed on for 3 BP. He also recieved the most ridiculous booking I have ever seen (watch out for it on the highlights, absolute disgrace).
For the defence; Simpson performed very, very well and Coloccini and Williamson were solid. In my opinion Williamson is a superior defender to Taylor and I hope he retains the role. Enrique lived up to his hype as he was fantastic again.
    Sunderland were shite.
    The end.

Because they're home to BPL and doubling up on B'Ham was stupid to do while Tamas had that fixture 😛

Its not hard to understand, West Brom went up as Champions, Blackpool were 5th or 6th therefore they should have been favourites to beat them as both have more or less the same squads.

Birmingham were playing a Villa team on a bad run but with strongish players.

          Ain't that hard to understand.

Why does Kevin Nolan get so little love on this site? I know he's not a great player, but he's been producing points all season, and is outscoring FFS favourites such as Nasri, Adam, Brunt and Nzog.

Because everyone hand Carroll up until recently.

Probably as most on here have Carroll, and don't want to double up.
