Most of our Suspension Tightrope protagonists were on their best behaviour last weekend. While Ashley Williams and Ramires fell foul of the referee’s wrath, both will now serve their respective one-match bans in the Capital One Cup – for a certain Spaniard on the other hand, there’s still time for that to change prior to next weekend.

Michu remains on four yellows and continues to pick up vast numbers of new suitors after notching another double against Norwich, though a caution in Wednesday’s Capital One Cup clash against Middlesbrough would earn him a one-match ban for the Swans’ trip to Tottenham next Sunday. Ashley Williams misses out in midweek for the Swans after picking up his fifth caution, while Chelsea’s Ramires will skip the Blues’ cup showdown with Leeds on December 19 for the same reason. Villa pair Ciaran Clark and Fabian Delph both balance precariously prior to tomorrow’s cup clash at Norwich.

Fulham’s home game with Newcastle this evening has a trio of players sitting on four yellows – Steve Sidwell for the hosts and Jonas Gutierrez and Cheick Tiote for Alan Pardew’s visitors. The Magpies also have a couple of players on three cautions apiece, Davide Santon and Mike Williamson.

Only one player moved onto the Suspension Tightrope last weekend, then – Everton’s Leon Osman shifted onto four yellows after picking up a booking in the 2-1 home win over Spurs yesterday, while former Toffee Wayne Rooney is now on three yellows, just two away from a one-match ban, after his caution in the Manchester derby.

Luis Suarez is available for Liverpool this weekend after serving a one-match suspension in yesterday’s win at West Ham, while Stoke welcome back Charlie Adam after the midfielder sat out their draw at Villa. Wigan pair Gary Caldwell and Maynor Figueroa also return to bolster the Latics’ backline for Saturday’s visit to Norwich.

Finally, John Obi Mikel is in the middle of a three-match ban received for foul and abusive post-match language and behaviour relating to Chelsea’s game with United back in October. With the Blues away on World Club Championship duty this coming weekend, Mikel will miss the Capital One Cup game against Leeds on December 19 in addition to the league game at home to Villa four days later.

...and it isn't really reset it's just that it then takes ten yellows to trigger the suspension (you probably know this but I thought I'd just add it for clarity)

Do you still get a 2 match ban for 10 yellows even if you didn't trigger a 1 match ban for 5?

a player earning their fifth caution of the season on or after 1st January would not earn any ban. However, if they received ten cautions by the second Sunday in April, a ban would apply. Players who receive 20 or more cautions in a season shall be required to attend a Regulatory Commission.

Yep, I thought it was only 1 match if it was your first ban of the season (like with straight reds, which is 3 matches for your 1st one, 4 for your second etc.)

Yes, in previous seasons it has been possible for a player to rack up 3 yellow cards for 10 bookings in this way.

My rank has also been on the slide with 5 reds out of the last 6 (down from 1.5k to 6k). Not sure what to do differently though as my squad looks solid - mainly a combination of bad benching decisions (e.g. Mich vs Arsenal) and captaincy choices (e.g. Suarez last week, Fletcher this!)

People have been waiting to transfer in Michu the last weeks, and their waiting has been painful as Michu has scored and scored.

A match ban is no more worse than a blank GW (which doesn't seem to stop people to transfer in for instance Mata and Puncheon this week ahead of a blank), it's just one week playing with a bit different line up.

Here's an interesting one - which players have you had in your squad all season so far without selling them since before gw1?

    For me:

    Jussi
    Glen Johnson
    Michu
    Kompany
    McAnuff

How the hell have you had the patience to keep Kompany, Johnson and McAnuff all season. Fair play.

Well I always knew Johnson would pay off eventually, and McAnuff had a ridiculous run of assists early in the season. Dunno about Kompany though recently he's had enough 6s to justify his presence. Think I'll be jettisoning him this week anyway.

Folks, is this a good team? Long term.

    Begovic – Tremel
    JEvans – Garido – Cameronn – Demel – Nelssen
    Santi – Dempsey – Silva – Mata – Snodgrass
    Suarez – Rooney – Berbatov

-12pts for this, but that is irrelevant. I have a catastrophic season, so need change several things.

    Thanks.

Get rid of JEvans... He was injured and with smalling, jones and vidic on their way back/ back from injury his game time is going to go down, a lot. Personally I would get rid of 1 of the big hitting mid's and bolster the defense.

Dempsey would be my choice to get rid of, when Bale returns it would appear his game time will be reduced.

Also, it takes a brace man to not have Michu or Fellaini on this-seasons form!

I'm not sure who you have/ who is a hit but some food for thought at least.

bench is very weak, you really shouldnt have 2 Reading defenders. Mignolet should go ASAP. Ramirez... Saints have a blank this week. Think you need Bale or Mata in there.

    Hi guys,

I have 5,6mill and need a midfielder. Already have Puncheon. Im thinking about Taarabt,

Why was he subbed after 58mins against Wigan? Did he have a poor game? And is he nailed on?

I dont really think he's too great, but dont find many other alternatives... I'm also thinking about Jarvis.

    Any thoughts?

Tevez to Rooney for -4 hit? I know Tevez is the best City striker right now and I know Mancini should've notice it by now, but it's what I have been thought for 4 weeks already!!!! The comment on Balotelli "horrible" performance by Mancini also didn't help.
Tevez to Rooney is not all about chasing point for me, it's too have healthier and comfortable moment when reading team lineup on the weekend.
