Strikes from Christian Benteke and Gabby Agbonlahor are not enough as the Baggies boing back to rescue a point in midlands derby clash. Here’s the Stock Check on Saturday’s evening kick-off…

On the Up

Christian Benteke
A superb turn and an exocet shot that arrowed into Ben Foster’s net, handed Benteke his seventh goal of the season. The Belgian continues to be Paul Lambert’s key player and the sole Fantasy temptation in the Villa squad. With the Newcastle failing back four up next, Benteke’s chances of scoring back-to-back goals looks enticing.

Charles N’Zogbia
A former Fantasy favourite, at times in the first half, the former Latics winger sparkled and showed glimpses of talent that once made him a serious proposition. A brace of assists will immediately re-introduce him to the radar and, having made just his fourth start of the season, N’Zogbia he could yet emerge as a mid-price prospect in a Villa midfield that’s been bereft of Fantasy options.

Chris Brunt
Rather like the Norwich midfield assets, it appears that Brunt has been on a see-saw with James Morrsion as the main source of points for the Baggies in the middle of the park. A second goal in five games promotes Brunt’s stock this time around and arguably helps to oust Morrison as the primary target in Steve Clarke’s midfield.

Going Down

The West Brom Defence
With Gareth McAuley owned by over 8% of Fantasy Premier League managers and Ben Foster claiming over 6%, the Baggies rearguard goes on disappointing. Having started the season with three shut-outs in the opening five fixtures, Clarke’s side have gone six without defensive returns, conceding more than a single goal in their last four. It’s one clean sheet in 13 league outings, although McAuley’s assist for Odemwingie’s equaliser will sweeten that pill for tonight at least.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Any thoughts on WC draft #1?

    Begovic Federici
    Evra, Sagna, Davies, RMartin, Cameron
    Michu, Bale, Mata, Gerrard, Puncheon
    Remy, RVP, Dzeko

I'm Interested in getting in the likes of Davies, Gibbs & Mignolet on my WC.
Should I activate it now and put them in (even if I change my mind and go for other players) to avoid not being able to put them in due their potential price rises?

Is total FPL updating? Lukaku has gone from 129% to 128.9% to 128.8% tonight. Seems so. Wish they'd stick a simple "last updated..." tag on it all.

Really in a quandry atm, not sure what my strategy should be over coming weeks. So basically what option do folks prefer,

A - Evra, Walcott, Pog, Ba 3-5-2 in most cases

B - Rafael, Puncheon, Sturrigde, Aguero 3-4-3 set up

This will be in place over next few weeks, price changes mean small changes can be made (Fletch over Sturridge etc). Team is below to indicate my cover

    Bego Bunn
    Zaba Demel Shaw Davies ?
    Michu Bale Mata Fellaini ?
    RVP ? ?

Rafael isnt as nailed on as Evra imo, Buttner isnt as adequate cover as Smalling, jones .

      A for me.

One of the benefits of the 3-5-2 is that midfielders are a lot easier to keep patient with than 3rd strikers who I notoriously have difficulty with. Sturridge was a classic case (though in a wide role at Chelsea).

Walcott has proven his consistency when he plays this season.

Really want advice on this, could be big......

How did Sessegnon play today? He seems to be inconsistent no?

If I cant figure out how to fit Fletcher in (want Aguero instead), is Sess worth the risk? Would be for free, and also for a few weeks for Sunderlands fixtures.

They have scored 6 goals in the past two matches. Sunderland……..six…….in two.

doubt it, it's public information. i'm not a programmer but ik it's pretty simple to make code that draws information from webpages

on the council site pratik has all the fixtures coded to automatically update from people's fpl pages and then the tables automatically update based on who has the higher score at the end of the gw.

pretty sure fiso and total fpl have similar codes written, which also incorporate algorithms and formulas to determine if a player will rise or fall, that draw information from the fpl transfers page

I dont think so. You are clearly playing a 3 5 2, and Fletcher is both nailed on and has the fixtures. Pog or Le Fondre can get goals in the off chance you play them or they get subbed in.

I love that squad personally (but not DDG!!!!) Sod it, go two cheapie keepers and a United defender if you are gonna invest in the back and want United.

I stand to lose to much on Suarez, and i want to Keep Ba because i think he will be nailed on.

I fancy Ba to outscore anyone except RVP if he becomes nailed and Suarez has that extra something in the box, he can create a chance out of nothing and him playing around there more will increase his assist potential.

going on the assumption playing two 9-10m players is better than playing 1 14.1 and one 6m player... I like rooney he'll give me a good differential in United's team but is e absolutely nailed on considering Kagawa's fitness/form?

IF TotalFPL is accurate then neither Sturridge nor Fletcher will go up tonight. But since Aguero is safe from a rise (also due to flag removal) I may just put both in to be on the safe side.

Just wonderful. Curious as to why when you ask a decent, serious, FPL-related question (as opposed to a pitiful, non-humourous pile of shite), that you can get ignored on such a frequent basis.

I wonder whether FPL have somehow blocked their data, preventing FISO and Totalfpl tracking transfers? Haven't played my WC yet and was going to hold it for next GW but will be a pisser if we can't play the money game any more.

they can't really block their data. fiso and totalfpl just take the transfers in and transfers out info provided on the transfers page along with the number of owners a player has (also available)

Bargains next season? Thinking Naylor but Ben Davies is doing a bit too well. Nani could have a renaissance. Wilshere could have a breakthrough season. If someone signs Ajax's Eriksen, then we could have an exciting prospect. Some may say Kagawa, but I don't see that one myself.

    As per fiso:

Q: So what is protection all about?
A: If a player is red or yellow flagged for 2 days or more, once their (i) icon goes back to grey, they are protected for 8 days.

Q: What does that effectively mean?
A: It means that for the next 8 days their price is frozen. It can neither rise nor fall. Once the 8 days is up, the player’s NTI or NTO is reset to zero and the normal rules of increases/decreases kick in from there.
