While both Theo Walcott and Juan Mata delivered the goals we needed, a lack of clean sheets meant the midweek “Flutter” fell flat, allowing Paddy to claw back some of our recent winnings. Our recent treble win still finds us in the black, however, as we approach another Gameweek with a crispy tenner at the ready. Let’s see how the Scout Picks markets are shaping up for the weekend…

The aforementioned Theo Walcott is in such form, with three goals in as many games, it would seem remiss to overlook him for this weekend’s clash with Stoke. While Theo is red hot and well fancied to net once again, Arsenal’s somewhat frail defence means that Paddy can offer us 7/2 on a Walcott goal with an Arsenal clean sheet against the Potters. We’ll go on backing Walcott’s form with a couple of quid of this week’s stake.

In contrast to the Gunners man, Marouane Fellaini is without a goal in six league outings but is unlikely to get a better opportunity than this weekend, when a beleaguered Villa pay visit to Goodison. Paul Lambert’s side have proved so vulnerable at set-plays and Fellaini’s height and power will surely be a factor which will be exploited by David Moyes. Paddy are offering a modest 4/1 on a Fellaini goal with a third Everton clean sheet in four against Villa: we’ll put a tentative couple of quid on that one.

The final player market looks more favourable, with Adel Taarabt taking his place in yesterday’s Scout Picks – he looks a strong prospect as the basement club face up to an out-of-sorts Norwich at Loftus Road. The Moroccan has been in inspired form of late, without delivering goals, but we’re backing that run to come to an end later today and are more than happy to make this our bet of the week and place a fiver on Paddy’s odds of 6/1 on a Taarabt goal with a QPR clean sheet against the Canaries.

This week’s treble offer features a Robin van Persie goal, as always, coupled with a little something from City’s magician, David Silva. Paddy are offering 11/1 on a Van Persie goal at Fulham, a Silva assist against Liverpool and an Arsenal shut-out against shot-shy Stoke at the Emirates. That little offering claims this week’s final quid.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I think he's the best option in the Liverpool and since they have 2 great fixtures, he's certainly the best captaincy option on paper.

Getting him in depends on what you'd have to sacrifice.

Indeed, but Mark actually confirmed on the video explaining the ranking system, that that is how it works...

They will be taken into account, but not as much...

Eg... finishing outside top 100k last year with 3 consecutive 1k finishes before that would give you a much worse ranking than finishing outside top 100k 4 years ago and having 3 consecutive 1k finishes since...

We played defensively in the second half, we should of kept on trying to play the way we normally do not change it cause we were up 1 or 2nil, we should of continued to press and look for more goals just like utd do

Been obsessing over my WC, but it's bed time (I live in the US) and I need to settle. Think I settled on the following, but still regretting dropping RvP... but with upcoming CL games, massive rotation risk, so I'd rather gamble of Rooney.

    Bunn (Begovic)
    Zabaleta, Clyne, Davies (Onuoha, Shawcross)
    Mata, Balde, Michu, Walcott, Taarabt
    Rooney, Fletcher (Sturridge)

if you're dropping rvp your squad should be better : P

lose fletcher and tarbat and get giroud (for one week before shifting to suarez for the dgw) and punch
      shawx to wilson
      bego to mig
and then try to upgrade a defender to GJ/baines if you have the funds

on the subject of rvp out... come gw31 he is out of my team for sure. united have horrible fixtures 31-38 and even though rvp will score, he is unlikely to retain the form which makes him so expensive. (this is also why i think city might win the league if theyre still not too far back)

but between now and gw30 he has to stay in, imo.

This is what the problem with you guys is, you think people won't be able to manage their team well without RVP, but there are many who are doing even better than me. People on here get thrashed for no reason at all.

you can of course manage to to do very well as long as you spend that cash wisely.

However, you've gotta realize that rvp doesn't feck around and score when he wants. so if your replacements are doing feck, u'd be in trouble.

Moral of the story: without rvp is way to risky imo

Way too risky I know, and way more fun too. That's what the challenge is all about, get the replacements right, CL rotation would be back soon, Rooney's back too. Strong enough reason to re-consider RVP. Maybe I have huge balls.

2 cents on the Anti-RVP wagon. Massive jump in rankings can be had by choosing the right left-field pick. Personally, Suarez+Giroud+Baines are the reason i have jumped the ranking. RVP is like an insurance imo, which will not let you fall but hold ground and allow you a few gambles in your team otherwise.

Rooney/Kun/Suarez the only other viable alternatives for me.

Rooney - Now RVP has pens
Kun - Form is still not there
Suarez - If you want to save, i'd rather Suarez>Sturridge then RVP>Rooney

Doesn't help that Rooney missed them. Roon is a good option i agree but that ownership worries my Jacko. If i'd want funds for elsewhere, Suarez>Studge is a better downgrade.
Its a tough decision but if RVP scored those 2 instead of Rooney, i don't know if people would think about this.
