Gareth Bale tops the ICT Index for Gameweek 25, with a change in position significantly boosting the Welshman’s stats in Tottenham’s trip to West Brom. Unsurprisingly, Moussa Sissoko and Marouane Fellaini both rank in our top five after bagging a brace apiece at the weekend, while Jay Rodriguez and Adel Taarabt also feature highly for their respective displays for Southampton and QPR last Saturday:

Our members can, of course, get the full data behind the Index scores via our members area but, as always, we’ve compiled our guide to the figures that turned our heads in Gameweek 25…

How many will Stevie Fletch bang in against Arsenal? Played him instead of Harte this week against my better judgement. I know the rule is pick the striker when in doubt, but Fletcher upsets me.

Pick the striker, Sunderland is playing really bad this year but Fletcher is one of the best strikers in Premier League. If you have him, you cant bench him. And Arsenal kept a clean sheet now after many matches.

Stoke are toothless though and Harte has attacking threat. Fletch has done nothing for me in three weeks.

I know, I had him two and i just got rid of him for Suarez. I also had Harte on my bench. But if I owned Fletcher, I would never bench him. GL whatever you decide.

Considering Arsenal scored 7 against them you'd have to imagine Bale might well do something great. I would say Newcastle have improved since then and new signings have changed things but I also think they will come to WHL to attack so it should be an open game.

Bale is not reverting to type - he's normally feast or famine but over the last couple of Gameweeks he's been solid without going ballistic, which is not like him at all. More predictability can only be a good thing when he has a home game vs lower-half opponents. That was a very long way of saying yes.

It's effectively an 8 point hit (you'd need to sub out 2 DGW players for GW27 to put out 11), so GJ needs to outscore Baines by 8 points for it to be worth it.

      I wouldn't.

To stop prices going insane. When people get 400,000 transfers in a GW with no limits they'd go up or down 0.7 or 0.8 in a few days.

There's a 0.3 limit for the gameweek, so having 0.1 per day helps regulate the rises/falls

    Hi folks, new poster here.

Anyone considering using their season wildcard ahead of the double gameweek? Received wisdom suggests saving it until afterwards is preferable (and having the discipline not to use it at all is even better) but w-carding now captures price rises to fund a competitive exit strategy and keeps all options available, which could be handy if anyone gets injured on international duty.

    A viable strategy or wasteful?

Fletcher -> Sturridge to make it an 8pt hit?

I'm thinking not but it could pay dividends.

The consensus is that it's best to have one cheapo player in your front 8 so that

              1) You avoid tricky benching decisions
              2) You can spend the cash saved in defence where it can be used, rather than stuck on your bench

Lots of group lols at the guy, but I think I see where he's coming from. Sturridge is the less likely to return a huge points haul out of the two. He might of only played a handful of games so far with Liverpool, but wasn't there a criticism last season too that he only ever seemed capable of getting single goals in games? Nothing wrong with that I realise, but that wasn't the point of the post, it was comparing him with Suarez and their comparative points hauls. Suarez seems the most likely to gain bonus points as well, he has 22 so far this year to Sturridge's 0...

No problem mate. And the other clown checking your team out and turning it into a critique of your benching decisions was poor form. Had nothing to do with your post and makes me wonder why people bother linking their teams. Guess he's never made a bad call on who to bench or captain... 🙄
