One man’s personal battle to mastermind his beloved Fantasy Football team through extreme adversity steals the show in this week’s episode of the ScoutCast – and we’re not talking about Granville struggling with his BAFTA award-winning hangover.

Episode 99 has all the usual ingredients as we look back on Gamweek 28, rinse through the Gameweek 29 options, pop in to disturb the Professor and his Rate My Team computer, analyse the transfer ins and outs and, of course, give another community member the “Fully Jonty” treatment.

Jonty delivers a heart-warming and rather humbling account this week, emphasising just how far the dedicated Fantasy manager will go to steer his ship. Postponing your bedbath to play your Wildcard? You better believe it.

Enjoy our bedside manner via this link or drip-feed the medicine by using the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Guess who is the 6th best scoring (FPL wise) forward without looking it up.

1FT Keep Lambert or transfer out to Bentekkers?

FYI I've wanted to get Benteke in for aaaaaaaaaaaaages but Lambert always seemed like the more secure forward for points, in other words, a bit boring. I can already field 11 so no problems there.

If I'm honest, I actually have no idea who to captain this week. I don't even have a hunch as of yet. I've been switching around between Suarez, Bale and Benteke and even looking at Lukaku.

The fact that Bale and Suarez are facing each other makes it that bit harder. If they were both playing other teams I'd say one would eventually win out but at the moment I'm seeing it as a coin toss. Suarez seems a safe option as you say, he's got home advantage and a lot will captain him this week.

          My reasoning:

Bale is on fire scoring an average of 13.5 points per game recently.

He is particularly potent away from home.

Liverpool are weak against top 10 teams.

          Spurs have fantastic form.

Last two matches against top 10 teams at Anfield ended 2-2

If Liverpool play the usual high line pressing game Bale will put them to the sword.

So does Oscar, Hazard, Lampard & Ramires and with 3 out of Chelsea's next 4 fixtures being at home you can make good arguments for all these options to offer better value.

Throw in the fact that Benitez likes to rest Mata at home (he's a stat man).....

Possibly, but it will probably only deliver 2 pts this game week.
Therefore it needs to be a longtime acquisition that isn't derailed by dble gws etc.
Snodgrass will deliver away from home with the favourable fixtures stretching to the end of the season.

I'm getting rid of Michu to fund RVP.

Don't fancy his fixtures, and even though he will keep scoring to a certain extent, I'd rather have RVP and Maloney over Fletcher and Michu.

Rooney is a very frustrating player to own. Maybe ok as a 3rd striker if you have a good bench.

I think it depends what you do with the budget. It's a bit random, but if you take RVP and a midfielder at what ever cost.
Can you find another striker/midfield combination for the same price that will score more points between them.

I don't see it as a direct RVP V So and so, as the price and therefore available budget elsewhere are different.

So, if I were to get rid of Bertrand for a hit this week, I guess Marc Wilson is the obvious choice?

I see it as a 3 point hit, since I fancy Newcastle to score twice, so I'm effectively paying 3 points just to save a transfer later in the season.

I think so, Stoke have some chance of a clean sheet in 3 of the next 4 (@ Newcastle, vs. Villa/West Brom) so you oughta get one at least.

          This basically comes down to

          A. Pog -> Remy & Cisse -> Rooney in gwk 30..

          B. Keep Pog. GJ & Cisse -> Evans & RVP in gwk 30 for a hit.

Obviously there are different permutations but i'm struggling to manage my transfers when I have an 'Emergency RVP funds' to consider at all times.

The reason i'm worried about him is obviously his points potential, but also, everyone chasing me in mini leagues has him. No better differential for them than RVP!

It's the personal MLs which will make different choices equally valid I think Viper, As it's the MLs we have more chance of winning and having the pub/work.mates bragging rights for the year.

If as you say your MLs are close and all your rivals have him, it seems sound to me to have him.

I'm chasing in my £ ML and everyone else has him. So it makes sense to me to have a diff as owning RVP is not going to give me the chance to catch up.

How reliable are Total FPL for price rises/drops? I usually use FISO.
