Mikel Arteta has undoubtedly been one of the biggest disappointments of our Fantasy season. So often the silky creator in the Everton engine room, a Bonus Point darling to rival even compatriot Cesc Fabregas, Arteta has so far failed to turn his prompting and probing into Fantasy returns, registering just a single assist and a three goal return in 22 league starts.

Significantly, his Fantasy season has not been rescued by a consistent flow of Fantasy Premier League Bonus Points. Arteta has gathered just 14 over the season so far, and no Bonus has come his way since gameweek 14.

And yet, with Tim Cahill a reported injury doubt for Everton’s weekend fixture with Sunderland, Fantasy Managers are on alert and hunting for new attacking options within the Everton midfield ahead of their kind run of opponents and double fixture in gameweek 29. Arteta is possibly back on the menu; reason enough for us to offer our Members a closer look to see how Arteta has fared in recent weeks and how he compares to another key option in the Everton midfield – Marouane Fellaini.

    Will Tim Cahill be fit and should I sign him today and gamble or leave it.

      Do have a better use of the transfer? If not then sign him and start him. If he doesn't make it you have auto-sub and Cahill in place for his double in GW29.

      I think the problem with baines is most people have coleman and are fearful of double backing a woeful everton defence despite their obvious attacking potential.

          Baines = 4 (at a cost of 7.5)
          Coleman = 3.8 (at a cost of 5.2)

        Nope but I still prefer him to Fellaini and an Everton midfielder is sensible as a replacement.

    so much for my 1 transfer this week..

    RVP,Walcott,Fabs,Adam,Carr all not playing Cahill is doutfull and Pantsil looks to have lost his place

    Arrgh just noticed that GW29 wont even be a double if everton need a replay against reading in the cup! I was just readying myself to load up on their players. The whole exercise could be pointless and leave me with a bunch of players i dont want! This game is infuriating

      interesting point if true

      at least we'll find out before the GW29 deadline. i might hold fire for a week then. bring in A.Young for Adam instead, then see where I'm at next week, whether Cahill is fit, or if Arteta actually does something

      Loading up on any team just because they have a DGW is dangerous anyway. I'm not that fussed about GW28, I don't think- everyone is screwed to a fair extent and I'm loathe to wreck my team just to get 11 players out. Can't see that many really enticing options who have a fair chance of more than 2 points.

        Id say stocking up on double gameweek players is where us serious players have the best opportunity to really maximise our leads over the more casual game player. Theres definitely risks but id say in most cases the pros outweigh the cons.

    So RVP will miss tonight, and probably Sunday's final.
    I also think he will not play a big part the following Saturday, as Arsenal play Barca away on the Tuesday.

    I've brought in Fellaini this gw. No reason why he shouldn't become almost as prolific as Cahill - he is great in the air.

    How do you reckon I play my team for gw 28?
    Current line-up:
    Hart (Kingson)
    Vidic Huth Bardsley (A.Cole, Foley)
    Nani(C) Meireles Dempsey Adam* (N'Zogbia)
    Berba Odemwingie Gyan

    Since Adam is suspended I'm looking into getting Barton in.
    Also I thought I should bench Cole for the Man Utd game as he's unlikely to keep a clean sheet, so I threw Bardsley into the mix.
    Any suggestions?
    I'm going to use a wildcard for gw 29 so that will sort out the high priced defenders/weak strikers.

          i don't now... but since anderson is injuried and j.s.park is injuried too, i think there's more space for giggs to start both games...
          and..giggs has been doing really great this last games...i think the "man U player of the century award" really had an effect on him.

          so...i was thinking of someone to reforce my miedfield and remembered him... if he plays both, I won't get a bonus hit for his sub, and maybe he can do an assis...

      I personally am very happy sitting on both before this gameweek begins (having [played my wildcard).

      Kolarov had proved that he's a good option now, I think. Would have walked away with 12 points from Saturdays cup game, with his two assists and his clean sheet.

    Christ, Nani is up to 9.9 now. I bought him at 7.9. Has any other player risen more than 2m in a season? I see VDV is second with +1.5m, but waht about Bale last season?
