Having played a pivotal role in Liverpoolโ€™s 3-1 destruction of Fulham last Sunday afternoon, Philippe Coutinho has made his way onto radars as Fantasy managers gear up for the final Gameweek of the season. Already, the young Brazilian has earned over 23,000 new owners in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game โ€“ more than any other midfielder โ€“ as the Merseyside outfit prepare to welcome relegated QPR to Anfield.

In this latest article for Members, we break down the statistics to compare his displays over the past six Gameweeks to other in-form midfielders and also assess Coutinhoโ€™s impact in recent matches without the suspended Luis Suarez.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

        Now he has Fulham at home. Fulham. A team conceding 4 goals at home against Reading. Reading.

              Last 4 games average:

              ICT = 5
              Influence = 10
              Creativity = 18
              Threat = 21

              Mins per goal = 330
              Mins per goal attempt = 36.7

                36.7 pr goal attempt, considering the fixtures and his one-shot at OT. How is that terrible? Coutinho has far less shots inside the box and less on target.

                I'm not saying Michu's stats are great, but I think you are going to far when you say he's not a good option this GW.

            It's all relative. In the context of playing at OT 1 shot, 1 goal is ideal.

            Why would you compare United away to Fulham at home?

              I am not, I'm comparing his poor form over last 4 weeks. Jeez the stats don't lie. He could get a hattrick, but odds are he will not be very potent. I think there are better alternatives.

                My point was 1 shot and 1 goal at OT is a good thing. Home to a very weak Fulham defence is a different prospect and he is more than capable of scoring well in that game.

          If you're saying he is at the same level as first half of season then you're kidding yourself.

            3 goals in last six games, playe approx 70mins in 2 of those games, which included Spurs, Man City, Chelsea, and Man Utd. That is actually very decent, and does not indicate a dip in form.

                RVP blanked 5 games on the bounce. That never stopped him going on to score 6 goals in the next 4 games. Stats tell you what has happened not what will happen.

                  Lol. On that same basis then the fact Fulham have a poor defence record and Michu has had a strong overall season are irrelevant as they are just stats...you can't just dismiss my side of the argument like that without damaging you own. Stats are past events yes, they also allow you to predict future events too.. Amazing eh?!

      Another fact would be that Fulham were playing Liverpool, a superior attacking side to QPR's opponents, Newcastle.

      So an alternative reading of that fact would be that Liverpool created a whopping 49 chances, and so it favours Coutinho.

          I didn't read the original post properly. Now THAT is a fact.

          Thinking about it, 49 chances in one game would have been pretty ludicrous.

            Following that line of argument though, they both played Reading and Arsenal in that period - Fulham played Liverpool and Everton, QPR played Newcastle and Stoke.

            So despite being utterly misinformed, my original post still stands.

    DDG (Bunn)
    Sagna - Baines - Demel
    Walcott - Cazorla - Nasri - Bale (N'Diaye)
    RVP - Kone - Sturridge

    a) Nasri > Coutinho
    b) Nasri > Michu
    c) Nasri & N'Diaye & Kone > Michu, Coutinho, Anichebe (-8pt)

    1 FT remaining. Lead minileague by 32pts and rival has Coutinho

    Apart from Begovic โžก de Gea on January WC, another genius transfer this season was getting Cazorla at the right time for his hauls.

    While I missed out on the first (even after much consideration)- Cazorla was my boy. I got him beforeis hattrick, I ignored him for DGW, and then sold Mata for a hit to get him last week.

    Any such players for you?

      I had Suarez for DGW, lost him for the blank, got him back for his hat-trick and captained him. That was one of my best transfers at least. I held Caz for ages and had him for his hat-trick, but he didn't do too well for me the last DGW.

      Bego -> DDG in Jan WC was also a huge move points wise for me, maybe not as spectacular though.

    So what do people reckon would be a decent price for Coutinho next season?

    Let's say he scores 8 goals, gets 10 assists and plays around 28 games, this implies a points haul of around 140 for the season. Apply a points to £ factor of 20 and you get to a price of 7.0.

    If he comes in at much higher than this I reckon there will probably be better value elsewhere, but of course it depends on your expectations for him.

      140 points over the season isn't spectacular but 140 points over 28 games is 5 PPG which is really useful (coincidentally, he currently averages 5ppg this season. It's 190 points over the course of a full season so if he manages the above, he'll be a very useful asset, even at £8-8.5m or so.

        He's only a young lad though, so I wouldn't expect him to play all 38 games even if 100% fit throughout the season. Injuries and rotation will also play a part, so I reckon 28 games is realistic.

    I think... it's starting to be clear to me. Bale (c) over Walcott & Sturridge, get Michu instead of Coutinho with my FT and keep Kone...

      What if Liverpool v QPR is the goalfest we think it might be and you only have Sturridge but not captained?

        Then I'm screwed! But QPR haven't actually been conceding that many goals or chances lately, and Liverpool still have nothing to play for (whereas Spurs most certainly do).

          Liverpool could have had their fun last week and this game could be an anti climax. It's difficult to know how any of it will turn out.

    If you are in the top 10k realistically how big a jump in the rankings could you make on the last day?

    For example I am ranked 7,924 (2,169 overall) and 5k is approx (2,189 overall)

    I'm thinking due to most teams having the majority of the same players it might be difficult to jump 1k or 2k places within the top 10k?

      Would need a good captain haul to make any real impression I reckon barring any massive differentials. Defenders tend to be good differentials at this stage of the season - considering K Walker myself.

        Kyle could do nicely for you. My team is more solid than punty I reckon. The (c) is a big factor.

          Nice one. Boyce on the final day ๐Ÿ˜Ž

          He is currently on my bench in place of Sagna. Tempted to start Boyce though.

      Yeah that's about right. Need you differential defenders to perform while others fail to get a super-jump.

      Saying that if 70% of your players nails it, that could see a 3-4K leap.

      Captain you keeper ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Last week I went from 2070 to 1367 with a GW rank of circa 61k.

      Now bear in mind I've only beaten that GW rank 3 times all season, I guess you'd need a fairly high score to jump 1000 places, 2k almost impossible I reckon.
