This season’s Big Numbers articles for members will follow on from the weekend’s action as always, with new contributor, “In Tommy We Trust”, taking up the editorial reins. Tommy takes we take a look at the data gathered from the weekend’s action in the members’ area as both Merseyside clubs register impressive attacking statistics, while casting an analytical eye over a handful of forwards from Saturday and Sunday’s matches.
Hey guys, what do you think of this team? Didn't do so well this GW so far.
Mignolet--Davis
Collins--Ivanovic--Koscielny--Turner--Ward
Walcott--Hazard--Snodrass--Mirallas--Jedinak
Soldado--Negredo--Lukaku
Thinking about taking a 4 pt hit to do Koscielny/Lukaku --> Coleman/Sturridge
Sounds alright?Open ControlsThis is not only to you John.
But, wtf is up with this Lukaku panic? GW1 is not even finished yet. Torres looked crap (as usual) and had 2 attempts in 75 mins against HULL.
I might keep Lukaku instead of Hazard tbh, I will at least wait for the next game before I decide.
Kos - Coleman is probably a good move, or Shaw (rotates great with Collins).Open ControlsI'd say Kos to Coleman for now. Wait a few days for the latter transfer.
Open ControlsI would say both responses would be a panic move, unless you need Kos for GW2, GW1 was a freak. I have Coleman, but if I didn't I wouldn't be rushing to get in on the back of one goal and assist, especially with Arsenals kind run of fixtures and the inevitability that Arsenal will buy another defensive midfielder as they need one. Once they have, it will be a solid defense again.
With the whole omg Torres played, seriously, he was always going to play once this gameweek, I say this having Lukatu.
In saying the above, if there are times to take hits, its now, as you will get the benefit of the increased team value.Open Controls
Can someone tell me who soton rotate with i couldnt get the spreadsheet to do it too complicated for me
Open ControlsChelsea, Man City, Newcastle, Norwich, West Ham look the best out there. Depends on budget?

Sunderland

Maybe West HamOpen Controls
im expecting a brace from Dzeko today...
2 pointsOpen Controlsvery pleased that norwich shots on target stat made the cut, i noticed it last night seeing that howard made 0 saves.
the lampard stat essentially shows he took 2 free kicks and a penalty.what i felt was most significant from that game lampard wise was he was back taking corners from the left rather than hazard. with the threat of terry, ivanovic, cahill and luiz this is a good chunk of extra assists a season you'd imagine, with hazard losing a chunk of assists the other way. i'm sure it will still be mata and now de bruyne from the other side though so probably not complete corner domination for lampard.
most interceptions were carrick and capoue with 6. interesting as capoue only played 33mins.
sunderland's new right back celutska got dribbled 5 times v fulham. to put that in context sagna got dribbled just 3 times in 25 matches last seasonOpen ControlsI'm probably being quite thick, but what do you mean by 'got dribbled'?
Open Controls
Boruc
Debuchy - M.Olsson - Coleman
Hazard - Walcott - Silva - Mirallas
Bony - Soldado - Sturridge
Vorm - Wanyama - Ward - O'Shea
Who should wear the armband?Open ControlsTough choice, will be very split this weekend overall, One of Walcott, soldado, strurridge even silva

i wish i knew this before selecting koscielny:
arsenal's record without arteta: played 14, won 2, drew 5, lost 7, conceded 31!Open ControlsI like you Moyesy, but in 26 years SAF didn't embarrass us as you have with that bid.
Open ControlsWas it Moyes or the money men? Either way it was out of order for two of the Premierships top players of last season.
Open ControlsIt doesn't matter, if Moyes wanted him he should've met the buy-out clause, instead they waited so they could get him for 7m less?
PATHETIC.Open Controls
Is it really the manager who decides what the bid is?
Open ControlsProbably our seemingly cheapskate Chief Executive Edward Woodward...
Open Controls
Bebe still has a better scoring rate for United than Torres does for Chelski. This however is on a par with Torres if not worse
Open Controls
You realise that Moyes din't make the bid, it was their finance dept.
Open ControlsSAF did pay 7million for Bebe though, and without even seeing him beforehand...
Open Controls
By my calculations most teams usually have a no players from one team out of the top 7 last year... who's your team that you always hope's a 1-0 loss... Mine is United. (Until GW4, then City.)
Open ControlsCabaye or Wilshere?
Open ControlsIs there no other option to upgrade membership other than PayPal ?
Open ControlsGreat "Big Numbers" article btw Tommy thanks. Brings the weekends action into a different focus.
Open ControlsWe're still taking entries into League 1938-450859, which is for players in only their 2nd year of FPL. Will definitely keep it open through the week, but will probably close it to new entries before GW2 kicks off.
Open ControlsMy thoughts about Lukaku:
He will most likely start against Villa as I reckon Jose sees him as his main man. Even if he doesn't, he will want to rest Torres for Man U.
This could all change if Lukaku goes mad against Villa, which is always a possibility when he is going to be starting. See what happens with Lukaku until the Villa game, then take him out for somebody like Sturridge if he does sh*t.Open ControlsHe's out regardless. Can't stand rotation
Open Controls
looking at teams with rvp and they are all arse. they will do badly in the long term and only got lucky this week.
Open ControlsIs this team bad?
Boruc Westwood
Toure M.Turner Shaw Collins Amorebieta
Walcott Coutinho Silva Mirallas Koren
Van Persie Soldado GayleOpen Controlsi disagree
2 good rotations plus a solid top 6 clubOpen Controls
What score are you on Delpuich?
Open ControlsWow, well done.

I really don't get the crying over the Moyes bids. He's not that far off and its a good place to start.
There's a reason no one activated Fellaini's class for 23.5 million. and Baines is 29. A premiership winning player at the same age cost Utd double of that last season (RvP).
Looks like due to the Madrids, Monaco's and PSG's in the world, people have forgotten the concept of value.
Fellaini 20M and Baines 12-13M at 29 is a fair fair assessment and Moyes wasn't for off.Open ControlsI'm more annoyed that he wants to spend money on Baines
Open ControlsHe doesn't wanna spend more than 12. Don't think well buy him. Evra has hit top form.
Open ControlsAgree - Baines is only a couple of years younger than Evra and so he would need replacing not long after too. I'd prefer him to look at Shaw if he want a true replacement for Evra.

This article raises a note of caution for those buying tickets for the Coleman express. Norwich had two shots on target and yet Everton still conceded two goals. Now this might be down to the amazing level of possession enjoyed by Everton now that they have become a side of Barcelona-like passing quality under Martinez, making it impossible to score against them because you never have the ball. Or it might indicate that Everton will concede heavily against sides with decent attacks, as Wigan often did. Probably won't concede as many as Wigan did as Distin and Jags and co are better players, but there are going to be some horrible weeks.
Open ControlsEverton looked porous in preseason too. That, coupled with the fact that Martinez looks to be favouring a 4 at the back as opposed to the hoped for 3 CBs + 2 WBs, meant that I didnt want Coleman in the end.
That went well 🙄Open ControlsYou can read stats however you want to though, you could equally say that in only allowing 2 shots on target in the whole game they were very unlucky to concede one let alone two goals.
Open ControlsI said that!
Open Controls
anyone considering huth
looks to be back up for set pieces again after semi retiring last season.
stoke looked solid enough v a good liverpool team.Open ControlsNot an FF question, more of just a football question. Which front 4 is better:
Sturridge
Suarez Coutinho Aspas
or
Soldado
Chadli Gylfi LennonOpen ControlsClose but Liverpool for me
Open ControlsYou would have to say Liverpool's edges it.
Though it's a bit harsh including Suarez but not Bale, without Suarez it would be Spurs'.Open ControlsLiverpool's out of them. But if you include Suarez in Pool's then you should include Bale in Spurs'. Spurs would then be better,
Open Controlsspurs mid did not impress me at all
Soldadp had far few touches to the ball and chadli just greedy worst signing ever
Liverpool team on paper looks very good ad is better then the sspudsOpen ControlsSurely Liverpools as Spurs midfield seems to offer little guile and I think they will struggle against tough teams.
Open ControlsPool. By a distance.
Open ControlsGood question! Based on MPTD analysis, sounds like all of Pool's attacking threat comes through Sturridge, Coutinho & Aspas. So i'll say Pool has the better quartet there.
Open ControlsLiverpool's and I'm not sure it's even close at all.
If Bale was in Spurs perhaps...Open Controls
Fernandinho @fernaoficial 14m
today will be my debut in the premier league.
God bless us tonight.Open ControlsNo Dzeko so 😉
Open ControlsGod surely has better things to do...
Open ControlsI'd hope that any God would have bigger concerns than looking over 22 obscenely paid celebrities playing a game of football ffs. Solipsism encapsulated
Open ControlsIf they're begging for God's help to get something at home to Newcastle I think we can probably rule them out of the title race.
Open Controls
Considering resting Lukaku (before I take him out next GW) for Man u (on the assumption he won't start) and bringing in Chester for Hull at home to Norwich......
Open ControlsThe club are very confident that Willian will sign..
Cheers
Macca
(Not yet confirmed if it is the real Macca)Open ControlsRemember these predictions 3-4 weeks ago;
Fellaini Fabregas
Ronaldo Rooney Bale
Van Persie
😀
