With the International break finally at an end, our attentions can turn back to Premier League tinkering. For 256 managers, there’s the added consideration of their involvement in Round Two of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV. The draw for which has been made, and the full set of 128 fixtures can be viewed by clicking this link. Here are a few of the highlights the draw has provided…

There’s no other place to start than to see that Goose has been named as reigning champion Gooner dave‘s next victim. Joking aside, Goose Vs. Gooner dave certainly has a ‘tie-of-the-round’ ring to it, don’t you think?

Competing for that mantle has to be the match-up between FFS Cup I finalist Breakballartist and Locarno. Both are enjoying very respectable seasons and will both fancy their chances of making the third round.

Whilst Gooner dave goes for an incredible treble of cup wins, there are two Fantasy Managers with their sights set on their own a cup double. Members’ Paddy Power Cup Quarter-Finalists ryangal1982 and canetoad face Bloody Yanks and joeforristal, respectively, in their second fixtures of the weekend.

The hotly anticipated Jonty Vs. JauntyJonty bout didn’t come to fruition unfortunately, with the former champ being drawn against Milky, and the top-scorer from round one paired with mathsgeek.

Our final two Scout Contributors have both been handed tough second round assignments, both up against opponents who out-rank them. Big Dunc faces Yanky, whilst our American Contributor Da beeeez has a top 1000 opponent in Foolsgold.

Elsewhere, qualifier number 512 RonnayBarkay will expect to advance to the third round as he easily out-ranks his 444,563rd ranked opponent jottonolan.

Ties to be played over Gameweek 31. Good luck to all competing in the second round, and I’ll bring you it’s results shortly after gameweek has concluded.

Thanks - was hoping for a unanimous opinion to be honest. I have been leaning towards Walcott if fit, because of better fixtures and upcoming DGW.

      Why Adam?

whilst I agree with the Adam choice, I just think if Walcott is fit and starting he is a much better choice this week.

i always find it funny how humanity thinks its so sophisticated and evolved. slow down the food supply, and water supply, take away electricity, and people will be gouging each other's eyes out...and hanging pigs. Let's hope they get Mary Harney first.

          🙂
On the same note during the Napoleonic Wars there was a fear of a French invasion of Britain and much public concern about the possibility of French infiltrators and spies.

The fishermen of Hartlepool fearing an invasion kept a close watch on the French vessel as it struggled against the storm but when the vessel was severely battered and sunk they turned their attention to the wreckage washed ashore. Among the wreckage lay one wet and sorrowful looking survivor, the ship's pet monkey dressed to amuse in a military style uniform.

The fishermen apparently questioned the monkey and held a beach-based trial. Unfamiliar with what a Frenchman looked like they came to the conclusion that this monkey was a French spy and should be sentenced to death. The unfortunate creature was to die by hanging.

Hence why Hartlepool football club are called the Monkey Hangers

    Team for this week:

    Foster
    Huth, Coleman, Kolarov
Nani, Van der Vaart, Nasri, Meireles, Downing
    Rooney, Van Persie (c)

Bench: Al Habsi, Rafael, Djourou, Zigic

Any transfers or should I save it for this week?

Unfortunately I'm 70 points behind my rival and we have near-identical teams, so the quicker I can switch things up, the better. But can't see any obvious place to start this week...

a one week punt wont gain u that many points, theres a good chance one of the big hitters will get injured between now and end of season, having 2 freebies ready for when that happens will help him close that gap

I'm in between - I'm willing to take some riskier punts, but not one week punts. I need to make significant changes, so bringing a player in for one week means I need to waste another transfer getting them out again the following week.

Not averse to riskier transfers, but they need to be players who'll stick in my team for while I go on to make other changes.

              If that makes sense.

Nasri, VDV, Meireles -> Lampard, Adam, O'Hara/Walcott

Looks like I have a difficut tie TBH. A lot of the same players, with Smalling a good differential for him, and Tevez/Berbatov vs my RVP/Rooney.

There's going to be very little in it, and also the possibility he transfers RVP in.

                Isn't Pienaar injured as well?
Lennon will start if fit but if a doubt I think Arry will save him for the CL as well.

Harry said Lennon is fine and he has no concerns with him. I have no idea about Pienaar, if he is out Kranjcar is available. Im not sure what to do with VDV at the moment.

Sound good, I'll be majorly f*cked off if I lose coz of Carroll, considering I have no Liverpool players.

We no how many times a team on paper that looks good has done Sh*t, it will be close and will probably come down to one of our different players having a very good week.

That's a very tight affair. I think you might win it with the help of a Dawson cleanie and Lampard + Young scoring more than Nasri + Barton.

He's got that cash tied up in Vidic that's making your midfield look a lot stronger, but it's a good week to have Barton - very tight I reckon.

        Stoke v Chelsea
        West Ham v Utd
        Wigan v Spurs

I wonder what the odds are on a accu with all games ending in a draw? You could add in Newc v Wlves and Brum v Bolton as a draw too.

I think we could see VDV rested this weekend judging by these comments. Also worth noting that spurs beat us 2-1 last month without either bale or VDV:

The Spurs boss is confident that his side will be able to give Real a good match in Spain even if Bale does not play next week.

"We have other good players here who can play on the left," Redknapp said.

"Niko Kranjcar has just gone off and had a couple of games for Croatia. Steven Pienaar is fit now too."

There was better news for the club with regard to Aaron Lennon's fitness. The winger pulled out of England's game against Ghana with a hamstring injury but Tottenham are confident that he will be fit for Saturday's game at the DW Stadium.

"Aaron is OK. He trained this morning. There isn't any problem with him," Redknapp said.

"He met up with England and stayed with them for 10 days, felt his hamstring was tight and we didn't want to risk him going so he pulled out of the squad."
